I used the b2g1 new and the 50% off guide (only ones I was probably going to use)

the digital coupon to me is worthless, and b2g1 used is almost impossible, because that means I have to find 3 used games to buy at a location I will go to. (When hell freezes over, especially since there aren't that many current games I'm looking for especially used when crossbuy gets factored in)

Well locked in Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs. Ugh why did this year have to be so good with releases. :'(

Amazon's shipping with guides have been nothing but positive for me for the most part. There could be *one* Negative and that's when I got Tomb Raider's LE guide, the box was all mangled and had the "damaged" tape on it by the post office, but the guide itself was in great condition (no dents or dings). However, that was just the one time.

I much prefer Amazon anyway as I refuse to pay the full price for these LE guides by ordering them at Gamestop, for various reasons other than the obvious price. Plus, you're likely to have the guide before the game drops anyway.

Thanks for the update on Watch_Dogs' CE guide--I preordered one. Hopefully Piggyback ends up doing it (IIRC, when previous Assassin's Creed CE guides went up early, Prima was listed as the maker and it changed to Piggyback later on?).

C'mon, Skyrim Legendary, drop another $7 to ~50% off... :pray:
 
Amazon is awesome. Is that not said enough? I preordered the Skyrim guide when it was $45 and now my cost is $32. I don't even have to ask or go into the store to get a price adjustment. It's about .03 cents per page (or .06 if you count front and back as 1 page).
 
I love PiggyBack Hardcover guides, seriously they are some of the best and I'll happily pay the release date price for AC: Black Flag. I was really hoping WatchDogs would be made by PiggyBack as well. =(

Just another guide publisher. Like Future Press, they're known for being higher quality and having more 'extras' content (concept art, developer interviews, etc). The only potential downside is that they don't (AFAIK) include physical bonuses like the Tomb Raider necklace or Bioshock Infinite keychain.
 
Has anyone received a shipping confirmation for the Skyrim guide yet? I know it releases tomorrow, but I know that sometimes it ships before the release date to arrive on the day of.

I'd almost feel bad for the pickers and packers at Amazon for having to lug these around and ship them out in time to meet their rates with how heavy this beast is. :p of course it wouldn't surprise me if someone was too lazy and just slapped a shipping label on one without boxing it up. :\

I've gotten shipping confirmations for both my hardcover and paperback Skyrim guides from Best Buy.
The paperback confirmation actually came on Friday.

I just ordered from Amazon, no half-off nor exclusive member for anything. :p
 
Received my Skyrim Legendary CE from Best Buy yesterday (bought with the 50% promo online). They shipped it in a bubble mailer and it's dented on every single corner. It had no chance of surviving.

Looks like I'll be exchanging it at the store tonight.

Best Buy sent my order in a box but with one side untaped... Amazingly no damage to the guide though.

 
Also got my Legendary guide today.  They packed it in a tight box with the spine facing up and against the side of the box instead of laying it flat, so 2 of the corners are mushed.  Not thrilled and going to get it replaced.

 
got my BB guide in today, very slight dents to a couple corners but it looks fantastic anyway.  Will wait for my Amazon copy (which hasnt shipped yet...) to arrive before determining which one to open and which to keep sealed.

 
My Best Buy Hardcover Skyrim guide came in decent shape. The Paperback guide came with one corner beat up.
The Hardcover guide from Amazon came in Excellent condition.

Not going through the hassle of returning any of them. I'll keep the Amazon book sealed and read the hell out of the other two.

Awesome guide though. David Hodgson is hands down my favorite as far as Strategy Guides go.

Got my guide in from Amazon today. It's a beast, that's for sure! No dents or dings, which means it probably didn't ship out of the local one. :p

Side by side I don't see much of a huge difference in the amount of pages between this and the original Skyrim Collector's guide, even though I know it's just about double the amount of pages.

Said it was there online ... but the guy at customer service couldn't find it.

I got my Skyrim Legendary CE from Best Buy today (bought with the 50% promo online). It barely fit in the oddly shaped box that they shipped it in. There was sufficient padding inside to protect it though as its in perfect condition!
 
I wasn't so lucky.  The box looked a lot like the one in a couple posts above but it ended up laying flat.  Top corners got bent and the bottom of the binding side got about a 1/2in rip up the spine.  Going off to BB in the morning for an exchange.  Hope they have some.

Fortunately, they seem to have them in stock in both local BB's.

Nevermind, I was looking at the softcover version.  HC is "ship to store" as reported earlier.  Still will head over tomorrow.

Should it have had plastic wrapping?

Saw the paperback guide in GS today, no it does not have shrink wrap on it.

Also, it is a gamble when buying online, at least you can exchange it in store very easily.

I'm just glad I didn't order one from Japan cause it was $60-70 shipped. I pre-ordered this last week and it'll make up for the piece of shit artbook that came with the Dark Souls CE. My damn pages fell out after opening it once. This book is going to be good quality so you can't beat the price.

So I pre-ordered the Last of Us guide as soon as it came available on Amazon. It was to be released on the 14th and instead of "Shipping soon" or "Shipped" it's now "Will ship in 1-3 months". So I'm guessing that I'm just unfortunate to not have had mine shipped?

I know it means backordered :p I'm just confused how the heck when I ordered day one, heh. But hey it's all good.

and yeah, mine still has a delivery of June 19th (it was 17th at first).

On a side note, the game is amazing so far. :)
