Yup. It was also listed on the 2k website. This is why I'm wondering what the chances of orders being canceled are, and where they're most likely to be canceled.

Personally, I've got an order in at the 2k store and Gamestop. I'm not canceling either until I have one in hand, just to be safe.
 
I was more thinking that they are lying about the 5k number.  If was mentioned in the initial press release, but if you look at all the listings, including the one on the 2k store.  It mentions that 5k number nowhere.

Yeah, I don't know. I doubt they're lying. I'd put more money down that retailers over extended their hands. Amazon had their preorder page up near instantly if I recall correctly. Gamestop did too.

Then there's Best Buy, who had the recent Majora's Mask cluster fuck of cancelations.

I'm guessing that it's 5k per console. At $400 a pop, that seems like it'd slow down preorders enough to have them release like they did. Especially knowing that places like Best Buy and Gamestop are known to flub their numbers.

You'd be surprised. The forums on various websites are pretty active. Unlike Wildstar the developers are reading feedback and making a lot of big changes, other than just the B2P method they're releasing this week. The main storyline is really good your first time through. Can't hurt to try if you see it on sale right?

As for the CE of TESO, if anyone is into lore with art on every page I highly recommend it. 200+ pages of goodness, one of my favorite lore/artbooks.

Is the MGR limited edition for 360 worth $36? Just want it for the lamp & steelbook, dont even own a 360 so id sell the game. would be kool to have the lamp next to the baby arm

I'd say it is worth it if you don't get a broken one. But don't buy it with plans of keeping it on all the time because the plasma won't last forever and will eventually get used up.

A LOT of people received broken lamps with MGR. I'd be pretty weary buying one for $36. I think the glass is exceptionally easy to crack and the gas leaks out. My first lamp worked for a few weeks. Konami replaced it with one that worked for a few minutes. The second replacement has been going strong and I'm convinced it is properly sealed and will work indefinitely (unless I abuse it.) They required a copy of the receipt for the RMA process and I believe I paid shipping to send the first one back. I'm not sure how likely they are to help you if you don't buy it new through retail channels. It's too bad because it was really cool idea for a collector's edition.

Beware I bought a clearance game on Sunday & the GCU did not show up. Had to ask and I got it with no fuss (just a wait for a key holder,) but that was on a $20 game (Lightning Returns.)
 
Can anyone explain this to me about Amazon UK, it does this to me for a lot of things I order.  the FFX-X2 for example.  It is listed as 37.58UK  than when I go to checkout it changes it to 31.32 and adds 4.95 for shipping.  The 37.58 only has free shipping to the UK, so I don't know how my amount always comes out less than the listed amount even after shipping it to the states.  Is this a detail about the pound and euro i'm missing?

They remove the value added tax when shipping to the US.

There's something called a VAT tax added to Europe products that when being shipped to the states they remove. That's why the price will usually drop when checking out.
 
Thanks, thats interesting.  I never really knew what Vat was, I thought it was a export thing.  I thought of a fee or tax being removed would never have crossed my mind.

As an FYI, the VAT is 20%. Some sites will remove it (Amazon UK), but not all (Zavvi).

Not yet. I ordered like 3-4 days after they posted the CE up on their store. I know it's probably not based on how early you order but on other things. I'll be happy whenever I get it, super excited to play and mangas are my thing.

One login for all Amazon sites. Just use your US login and you are all set.
 
retailers don't HAVE to remove it, i've gone on shopping trips in europe before and the smaller places tell you that you need to file for a refund with the EU taxing authority, can do it at the airport usually (obviously dont apply online purchases).  

makes state sales taxes of 8-9% seem pretty great compared to europes 20%!

Physical store sales are different. VAT is more like if you order something on Amazon for someone in another state. They charge that state's tax rate, and not yours. When you go to a physical store to buy the item yourself to ship to another state, you pay your state's tax rate, but can file use tax to get the difference. VAT online is like the first example, and filing at the airport is the second example.

And even then, I think there's a minimum to file for the refund. Something like 40 GBP minimum on the receipt.

 
I would be amazed if they didn't add it.  That is where I got my copy of Last Light.  Its going to be a sad day when UK gets better internet and they stop making those physical ones.
