Amazon yes, but Best Buy no. There have been some in the past year that have not come back post release on the latter. Bravely Default, Destiny Ghost, Smash Bros Bundle (oms yes but not online) and even Hulkamania off the top of my head. Not surprising given that these were some of the more limited ones. Bloodborne should come back since it doesn't appear to be as limited (i.e. no limit on amazon)

Point is these usually still will be available after launch. Unless BBY own a CE as a retail exclusive, who cares? All of those you listed did come back on Amazon. I snagged the BD and Smash from them after release and I saw the Destiny Ghost edition too.

Well Gcu for one thing. Especially for the more pricey collectors editions. $30 off $150 certainly is nice and who wouldn't want to save $80 on the Claptrap? And that one might not come back.

You got lucky because those stocks are from cancels and bad credit cards. BD, Smash, and Ghost never had more print.

Can't really say it's luck because that always happen and preordering aren't exactly necessary. I do it all the time incase a game tanks like Order 1886.

*Reading previous posts, you guys were talking about BBY. Yeah, CEs from there are usually gone for good because I think they charge you in full unlike Amazon. Apologies for the miscomprehension.

 
BB doesnt charge in full when you preorder -- only when they ship. They do put a pending charge but that disappears.

BB has changed its  model in the last few years. They have realized they have become a warehouse of old outdated tech and games so they are very selective on items that get shelfspace. This being said CE's are brought in lower quanities and once a preorder is allocated/sold they don't buy more. Usually we see something come back for order because of failed CCs or canceled orders.

Cancels and bad credit card are bound to happen. I don't remember the percentage but it's usually a few percent meaning there will always be some on or a bit after release. It's why some people hawk Amazon sometime around and a bit after the release if they miss out.

Right now, I'm eyeing BB for Type 0 since they usually give about 2 weeks before restocking the ones from bad cc or canceled.

And in this day and age, I preorder almost anything I consider getting. Right now, I have MGSV CE preorder on Amazon and will hold it until near release date whether or not if I can get the CE with BB. So if I cancel near release, Amazon is bound to have extra.

Amazon and USPS screwed up my Majora's Mask order bad. So after a whole fiasco of USPS not delivering, they sent the package back, which Amazon went ahead to restock instead of sending it back out.
 
I'm not even sure if I want to keep my Bloodborne CE preorder from BB. I'm still getting Bloodborne on launch I'm just trying to figure out if those extras are worth an extra $18.  :whistle2:k Hope an unboxing shows up soon to help me decide.

The sheer awesomeness of the Type-0 HD CE is also making me rethink getting that one.

 
Heads up, today is probably the last day to cancel for Claptrap in a Box.

I saw my COD:BO RC car sitting on my shelf....realized it will probably be usable longer than the Claptrap so I cancelles mine.


My reasons:

1.)the Loot Chest looked a bit cheap IMO

2.) The only way to control it is through an app, as long as the app is updated for whatever device you have. In a few years, do you think they will support your new phone?

3.) From my COD BO RC car experience, I probably won't get enough use to justify it. Rather get a nice drone.

Just placed my preorder with BB. I was so worried they'd sell out before I could complete

 Managed to snag the PS4 CE for about $48 after GCU and a gift card. Now undecided on if I should keep my GS preorder and sell that off (if these are truly limited as it seems) or just cancel

Placed it with a card that will be closing soon, since my other card expires august, is there a way to change cards without canceling the order?

Ran across this with my usual 1/day check and got the PS4 pre-order in.  I really hope they have their act together and don't screw up like they did with the special edition 3DS systems.
