They must be better at doing that for DVDs and Blu Rays than they are for games. I had a situation not too long ago when MSRP was actually $10 cheaper than when I pre-ordered on a game and I had to contact them the day it shipped to get the lower price even though it had been at the lower price on their website for at least a week or two before the game shipped.

Simply not correct. Here is what you wrote -

If MGSV does get $10 Rewards we might not get it because this will be sold out by then. BYY adjust if prices decrease but not promotional bonuses or credits.

Several of us explained why what you said is wrong and it's based on our experience. BB does give the $10 reward if a game is added to the promo after you pre-order. If you don't know something with a reasonable degree of certainty, please don't post it as it confuses people.

Didn't see if anyone had mentioned this yet, you cannot pre order the mgs ce in store for sure. I got my order in online earlier but stopped by a few minutes ago for a return and the cs rep said that they didn't have it up on their store pos

You could actually see the Hideo Kojima departure coming for years now. Koj has already stated before that he's been longing to move on from Metal Gear for a long time now to pursue other opportunities. I actually felt a little bad for him because he didn't sound like his heart was into it anymore until MGS V was announced. He's said in the past that he was finished with the MGS series but Konami must have paid him a ton to keep him around so that he could finish The Phantom Pain. Now that the end to TPP's development is within view, it's natural for Koj to set up his next landing spot. If my final project was going to be completed this year, I'd be looking for a new job too.

Whether he's having a power struggle with the other heads at Konami about his departure is the most interesting part. A lot of well known creative director's have moved on from their old companies to start up new IP's in the past.

And the rest of us are sure because every single time BB has added a game to the list of $10 cert games in the past, everyone that preordered before the promo started got it. I also explained to you that I have preordered games in the last few months where MSRP fell and BB did not automatically price adjust. It's nice that they do it for DVD/Blu-Rays, but this is the video game deal forum and unless you have experience with game prices being automatically adjusted, your information is irrelevant.

DVD/Blurays/Games are all product of BYY so the same thing apply. You act as if the game section is processed by a different entity. I myself preordered games before the $10 rewards cert and I didn't get it. Customer service and even clearly told me this. See?

I guess I'll wait for my $20 reward cert to spit out from my $1 phone. ;) GCU for $10 after the cert, seems like a decent deal. I may even pick up my dead island riptide preorder and whatever else I find in my folder that I forgot about.

 
Just when I finally decided to pay with a credit card it goes out of stock. It says coming soon so they should restock some time later right?

You said might not if it's sold out.... but that has nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter if it's sold out because you wouldn't be doing a return rebuy or whatever reason you are talking about stock. Every other game that has been added to the $10 promotion has been updated on peoples accounts when they pick up their preorders. I have preordered plenty of games before they were added to the $10 and then I got it.

You are talking about something completely different which is what people have pointed out.

Most likely yes. I have called in before to try and change payment method and it's not as easy as Amazon, in order to do it they have to cancel and then reorder. With it out of stock it most likely won't work. I canceled mine because my CC will be closed in a month and I won't be able to switch it over. My other credit card expires August, so BB won't take it. And I refuse to do debit cards for BB since they do lots of Ghost holds throughout the preorder.

No that was only because they oversold on preorders for those LE consoles. The MM game CE also supposedly had a one-per-person limit, but I didn't hear anyone with multiple orders getting their extra orders cancelled, because BB had enough allotment to fill all of the preorders that they took on that one.

It will most likely come back in stock, my assumption is that BB may have learned from Zelda not to over sell pre orders. Once they get a better number and see if they can request some more it may come back in stock once or twice more like Amazon did.

I'm going to be moving so I'll have a different billing address but I'll be using the same credit card. I wonder if it'll still cause a problem?

I don't think so. I moved back in August and before I moved, I preordered The Order 1886 CE and didn't have any problems even after changing my address with my bank. I preordered some Amiibos in February and my old billing address was still on the order, yet they still shipped them.

I would make sure to update your credit card information on BB.com when you've moved. In the last few weeks, I've been able to update my payment information on BB.com when there was an issue, as I had a CC on the site which was valid when the orders were placed, though it was closed out because it was a compromised card. Forgot to do the update of the CC info, the orders shipped, received a payment declined message and then was able to change it on the website.

If it's just a billing address change, I think you'll be OK. If the number changed or the card wasn't going to be live when it bills out, I think you might have an issue.

 
Does this thread also cover console LE's, or is there another dedicated thread for those?  I want to make sure and get the girlfriend the Disney 3DS Walmart's got coming in April and need somewhere to follow for news, haha.

I'm not sure I've ever had a game drop in price after I preordered it, so I can't comment directly whether they automatically adjust those, but I have ordered Blu-Rays that dropped in price after I preordered them, and those did get price adjusted automatically for me at BB.

I agree with you about the RZ certs being added on automatically, there have been multiple occasions where I preordered a game long before it was eligible for an RZ cert yet still had it added on automatically when I picked up the game.

LE's for consoles usually each get their own unique thread. The Majora's Mask LE definitely had it's own.

wait I'm confused. so if you update a credit card that is no longer valid with the new card on the website then there shouldn't be a problem with the order that you had placed with the compromised card shipping out? Just preordered MGS V CE at BB!!  Funny, on my PC it wouldn't let me add to cart, something about picking a quantity of at least one.  But it worked just fine on the ipad.

BB emailed me with both of these orders that they had a payment decline when they tried to process them for shipment. I went to the website and found there was an Update Payment process for each order, which allowed me to switch it out to a valid CC and then the order picked up like nothing ever was an issue.

If it wasn't this type of an issue, you will have to call into Customer Care and get them to change it over the phone. I had to do that on a different order a number of months back for some reason and they did it, it just took a while to get them to finish it up.

IME, there shouldn't be a problem. If the CC you used to place the preorder is no longer valid when the preorder comes due, BB will email you a special link to change your payment method at. That's what they did for me when my price-glitched Order 1886 CE preorder came due, so I was able to change my payment method on that without losing the glitch price. Aside from that, though, they don't let you change the payment method of your preorders after you place them.

Since you can't cancel and reorder the Batmobile edition anyway, I would just wait until the preorder comes due. Unless they change their preorder policy between now and then, they'll email you a link to let you change your payment method for that game when that time comes.

 
What time did the PS4 version sell out for MGS?

I grabbed the X1 version, but I love remote play and would have loved the PS4 more.

Just wondering about by how long I missed this. I usually checked everyday till BB said they'd put it up yesterday, but when it didn't go up yesterday, I guess I had given up.
 
I had to deal with a CC number change issue recently with Best Buy after BofA up and replaced my card due to it being compromised in a way they wouldn't reveal. Best Buy handled in swimingly.

Since we are now leaving in an era where credit card numbers are being stolen at a rate of millions per day, it makes a ton of sense for online stores to make it smooth for changing payment options without having to cancel/re-order. Amazon does it great too. NISA kinda sucks at it still (requires a phone call) but at least they are super nice about it and get it done fast when you have to call them.

PS4 Collectors Edition version of MGS V is back in stock at Best Buy

UPDATE: OOS again. Less than 2 minutes
