Hopefully that means the Unity CE's will convert soon at GS.  Though I have to admit they are currently pretty uncommon for Ubi CE's (only 3 in 100mi of me)

EU always get the best collectors edition compare to the ones in the states. their statues does not look that cheaply made. the ubi store statue looks like just hot glue an action figure on to a base ,and call it a day to save money

Happy to buy your steelbook on the Ubi Shop store, like I did with FC4 and AC: U, then pick up the games on the cheap.

 
Does anyone know if BB pulled the steelbook pre-order bonus for the Witcher? I'm late to the party and just tried pre-ordering it but don't see anything about the steelbook on the site.

So? It all comes down to money anyway. The more made the faster the game comes out for people who want to play it to purchase it And the more successful the kickstand is.

Besides, what do you care what people do with the products they buy and own that belong to them? If they sell them at a high price that means someone who wants it is willing to pay for it because they missed out. So really don't blame resellers, blame the buyers. Or just don't blame anyone, ignore it all and focus on things that make you happy.
 
So I preordered The Witcher CE from BB with Paypal. At the time, my PP was full of cash, now it's nearly empty. When you place a preorder on BB with Paypal, it takes the money in full correct? I can see the transaction in my PP history but I don't want to get my CE held for insufficient funds. This was the first time I used PP for a preorder on BB normally I just use my BB CC or credit/gift cards. Anyone able to reassure me? Or should I load my paypal with extra funds?

I only use Paypal for my Best Buy pre-orders. They take the money right away.. right when you see that Best Buy transaction on your paypal account.

Yea it shows the transaction for the full amount. The only reason I ask, I've had paypal transactions that took the full amount in payment, it showed back up a day or two later and then it was taken out again the next week. Guess the first transaction was only an authorization or something. Granted almost all of those transactions are from purchases using the PayPal MasterCard, so basically Amazon.

When you pay with Paypal, Best Buy completes the transaction right away.

 
It's taking a lot of restraint to not buy that Witcher 3 CE.   The game + the steelbook from BB with GCU should be good enough.   I think the CE would have to be listed at Best Buy before I'd bite.  Tough decision though.

I have a copy from BB pre-ordered.. I picked up a gamestop copy also. I'll pick up the Bb copy for 48, keep the steelbook and 10 dollar cert then trade the game right back for 44 bucks
 
I just want the art book and the steelcase.  If I could buy the CE and sell the statue, I would.  It doesn't seem wise to spend another $100 just to upgrade to the CE though.

WHEW!  I know I preordered the CE at BB and put $5 down on it, but when I went to the website I couldn't find it in my transactions (and certainly the receipt has faded away since then)... turns out I pre-ordered this thing MUCH longer ago than I thought...

The premise of the steel book bonus & that $10 Reward Cert. is that Best Buy gets your business & you take and keep the game.

So basically, you buy a game at a discount, take their pre-order bonus & there $10; turn around and open their game and sell it back to them so they can re-sell it as USED because they don't accept sealed trade ins. So you're essentially taking their case & there bonus for nothing, aka stealing it.

The facts are the facts guys I'm just putting it in perspective, if you want to be a shitty person go for it. And it's clear by the responses who the shitty ones are.

I mean, when you trade the game right back in give the $10 cert and steel book back... Oh wait.

I'm not ripping off Best Buy.. I'm using the promos and trade in values that they provide to the public. There are ZERO ethical issues with what I'm doing.

Ironically, I DO work for Best Buy part time. I'd have no issue with a customer doing this and have had managers say before that they don't have an issue with it.

Trust me... They get plenty of money from me.

In no way at all can it be considered stealing. It's using two different and independent promos That Best Buy chooses to offer. Nothing is fraudulent. Those are facts.. Simple as that.

I'm paying them 48 dollars for a game, steelbook, and 10 dollar cert. That is their offer for that game. At that point, i own all three. They are mine to what I please with. Best Buy has zero ownership for it.

Best Buy OFFERS me 44 IN STORE CREDIT for the game only, so I take them up on that offer and give them ownership of my game so they can resell it.

It's pretty cut and dry that there is nothing wrong with this

and trading the game back in is a completely independent action that has nothing to do with the original purchase.

So if I buy from GameStop and trade in at BestBuy, who am I stealing from? GS? So, does that make BestBuy the accomplice? I want to know what you intelligent gents and ladies (CAG'ers) feel about my moral dilemna.

I am also unable to sleep well at night owing to multiple pending and completed trade-ins to GS, BBY & Amazon over the last few years. I was not aware that I was stealing stuff from corporate 'murica all this while. Should I seek help?

What about buying a game and then trading it in is illegal? Care to elaborate?

Because what it sounds like you are referring to is that if someone tried to return (not trade it in) said game and keep the SteelBook that was part of the bundle. That's the only thing in this that I can see as iffy, and since it is part of a bundle most likely Best Buy would accept the return and provide you with a portion of your money.

Because what it sounds like you are referring to is that if someone tried to return (not trade it in) said game and keep the SteelBook that was part of the bundle. That's the only thing in this that I can see as iffy, and since it is part of a bundle most likely Best Buy would accept the return and provide you with a portion of your money.

That's my thought. Not sure if he didn't read my full post. I'm actually very adamant about return fraud and hate when I see people doing that.

This is a totally different situation that is in no way immoral.

They'll deduct the $50 "price" they have on the steelbook as a bundled item and give you back pretty much nothing when you try to return it. The steelbooks used to be $9.99 in "price" as a bundle item, though BB wised up and made it $50, to prevent returns.
