Trust me, you'll want the cards. The card game is the first mini-game I've really enjoyed since Triple Triad in FF8.

 
Honestly how many people even know about OMS. If it wasn't for this thread and stickboy46, I wouldn't have. The fact that it's at BB and you can also use GCU is that much better.

Not to be "that guy", but resellers are often the reason CE games and consoles sell out almost instantly. Some people just sit around and flip items like this to make money. Everyone is always looking for free/easy money.

Worst year for collector edition games of all time, Batman better be worth it. Witcher 3 CE was cheap from the steel book to the statue (map was cool.) And way more produced than i thought, there was little money to be made.

For the most part I aggree with the general lacklusterness of this year's CEs. But I can't agree with the little money to be made part regarding the Witcher.

Game: $55

Steelbook: $15

Pendant: $50

Art Book: $40

Statue: $70

Gwent Cards & Map: $120

Even after deducting 20% for fees that's still a 75-80% profit before any sort of GCU or other discount at prices that would sell almost immediately. I'll take that all day long. Beats the heck out of the weekly percent return on my stock porfolio lol.

 
​Paid 120 but even at 150 Witcher 3 CE is worth every pennies, especially X1. I own most CE and WC3 CE is by far the nicest one so far.

 
I was seeing bids on ebay around $210...and they hadn't ended...it seems like it's pretty highly sought after...and selling the contents in pieces might make it even better

^That's...um...a really bad CE IMO, definitely not worth an additional $40, and all that in-game stuff is included in the Day-One Edition anyway. If it had included a steelbook I might have considered it, but this is an easy pass.

Agreed an extra $40 for a plush, keychain and a lanyard is crazy.

YMMV... OMS requires you to finalize Payment through the regular POS System. You would have to find someone willing to hand key in a credit card over the phone. While the system will let you do it, it's a major no-no to do that as you have no way to verify that the person on the phone is the account holder.
 
Knight - just curious, but as a JRPG fan what made you opt for the X1?   Microsoft's lack of support for the genre has been one of the main factors of me sticking with Sony as my console of choice.  I pretty much just have the Xboxes around for a handful of exclusives.

 
Yea,  As much as i'd want it for the collection, I think ill hold off on that CE.  $52 extra (compared to BBY) for that stuff doesnt seem great.  Considering the game isnt a "real" Dragon Quest game, i'm having a hard enough time believing the standalone game is worth a $60 SRP (feels more like a $40 srp game to me)

 
The Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition now says "coming soon" for the ps4 version at best buy. if you click on the link, the yellow preorder button actually shows up for a little while before it is grayed out and changes to coming soon. the xbox one version says sold out online. might be worth watching.

To quote Tevye, "Trah-dish-shun!". Well sorta...

During the PS3/360 genre I decided in an effort to be wiser with my money, I'd only purchase one of the consoles, and thus limit my choice of games/CEs I'd have to buy. I "chose" 360 because my friends brought one over and we played Halo 3 a bunch of times and I loved it. My wife ended up getting me one for our anniversary and so that was that. When X1 vs. PS4 were announced I had some serious qualms with both but just wasn't sure which one I was going to go with. I was an achievement junkie so I didn't want to lose out on all those achievements, but I also was a HUGE rpg fan and didn't care for the fact that MS basically stopped after the first year or so of the 360 with jRPGs. I already had X1 pre-ordered, but nearly cancelled it after the E3 fiasco and DRM junk, but decided since it was technically a "special edition", I'd keep it and hope they'd do things right...

Other than Halo and a bit of Titanfall, there hasn't been anything that makes me happy with my decision. I no longer care about achievements because of their "challenges" features, the UI is utter garbage filled with ads, my controller died after a few months of use (vs. the 360 one that lasted 3 years and MUCH more gameplay), the drive doesn't always read the discs, and the console is unresponsive most of the time, and most importantly THEY HAVE NO jRPGS!!

The other thing that nags me, is that I've got PS1 and PS2 games and love many of them (especially FF), but never had any Xbox games, so its really just the 360 that I enjoyed (before they killed the UI). Maybe I should just cut my losses, see if anyone wants to trade my X1 CEs for their PS4 CEs and get out while its still early? I dunno...

Anyway, TLDR; wife bought me a 360, I didn't want to buy both consoles, made dumb decision that achievements > rpgs, stuck with xbox1.
