Thanks to the pictures that Shrike (I think?) posted yesterday of the Halo 5 LCE I'm probably not gonna keep mine from the glitch. If a CAG is interested maybe we can work something out. I can't change the shipping address from BB though so that would be an additional expense.

I don't think you get to play a week early, you just get to pre-download it. The servers and game still won't be available to play until the launch date I BELIEVE. At least that's what it seemed like they were saying earlier in the week when MajorNelson was tweeting about it (or was it 343?)

Ok, but seriously, another day closer to Arkham Knight releasing, and STILL no unboxings of the LE or at least pictures or video of the statue that comes with it?  All I can find is the unboxing video Sony released yesterday of the Limited Arkham Knight PS4 bundle, which doesn't contain any of the LE items except the game.

This is weird, right?  As in, we normally see unboxings more than 4 days before release don't we?  It seems odd to me, especially after the crappy CE cancellation on Wednesday...

The LE has already arrived in store, so must be a media blackout on it. The box was decent sized and looked Ok on the one I saw. Didn't open it up though

Thanks- that's good to know, but it actually makes me feel worse about the LE as that makes it sound like they have something to hide (i.e., a crappy-looking and/or low quality Batman statue).

That's what they said, it's to preload the game so it would be ready on release date. As would having the physical disc, though that's just crazy talk.

Mine's been shipped from BB, pending pickup from UPS. I should see mine on Tuesday, from the usual BB shipping scenario. I didn't do too bad on it, as when they tried to do the PM to Walmart on their screw up, they couldn't adjust the price, so they gave me a gift card for the difference. With the rep I had on the phone, by the time it was done with, he gave me a $60 GC because I was such a good customer. So, $80 for the CE, $10 RZ cert, and a $60 GC, I think I'm doing OK with it.

 
on neogaf people are reporting that amazon has sent out emails to people who ordered the Batman LE (statue, not batmobile) that their order will be delayed till July 14th but as a free bonus they will be getting digital codes for the game.  

I have a LE ordered from best buy and no emails yet, and obviously some people are saying in this thread they have ship notices from walmart.  It might have been amazon UK that got the emails and not amazon USA.  Anyways dunno whats going on, best buy usually doesn't ship stuff until sunday/monday for me anyways.

I'm just not a major LE/CE person. I got the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix one for the extra $10 or whatever for the pin. Before that, I think the Halo 3: Legendary Edition turd helmet was my last pickup. That, or Gears of War 2, whichever came second.

Agreed. My ideal LE/CE just includes the game, a steelbook case, and some combination of soundtrack, artbook, and/or vouchers for at least some of the future content. If they're going to include a statue of giant box or something, make it practical. The statue doesn't need to be huge (see: Batman: Arkham City), and if it's a replica or box, let it have some use for storing the other contents of the LE/CE and perhaps even other things. For example, the tin that came with Call of Duty: World at War could fit all of the CoD games up to that release inside of it (who needs a flask you can't even use? what a waste), or the God of War 3 Pandora's Box, which I aim to utilize in my video game display (in the process of moving soon) to hold all of my GoW games (1+2 collection, prequel collection, 3, and Ascension). The bookends that came with one of the editions of MK9 have been awesome...I wish more of the statues that came with other games were made as bookends...doesn't have to be a pair...just let me position the wall piece on either side of the statue and then when another release comes along from a different game, it can be used on the other end.

Sorry to go on and on...but maybe someone else understands where I'm coming from...a lot of these LE/CE releases just aren't worthwhile anymore...they're too damned expensive and simultaneously filled with utterly worthless items. Who honestly bought the CoD: MW releases that had a drone or remote control car? Did you ever actually use it?

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered the LE from Amazon and haven't gotten an email yet from Amazon about delaying my order.

Maybe it is just Amazon UK or some other select group of people who pre-ordered this from Amazon who won't get it on release, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the LE is delayed for everyone after the CE fiasco and the fact that ZERO pics or videos have been released of the LE contents so far and the game comes out in 4 days!

 
Yeah the whole digital copy with the Halo 5 CE makes no sense when it still comes with a steelbook lol. It's insulting to Halo fans because they give you an incomplete collectible. Whoever made the design of the CE either doesn't play games or has never owned a steelbook in his or her life before.

MS has demonstrated the ability to reverse course based on feedback in the past. With everybody getting upset over this, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody realized the idiocy in all this and made things right. Hopefully.

I know this was sold out everywhere, so just figured I'd share a video from an acquaintance of mine on another site. He's raffling off one of these and so far there's only 25 entries, but at $5/entry it's not a huge waste. Anyway, I know its not CAG-like to spend nothing and potentially get nothing, but he's trustworthy and plus if its successful he'll be doing similar things with a lot of the other rare stuff he gets (Press Kits, etc.), so figured it would appeal to some of us here.

Best Buy actually had it in stock on the website up until a day or so ago and could pre order in store even. It flipped to sold out, but after seeing inventory in stores, I don't think it will be an issue getting one on launch day if you want one.

If MS was smart about it, they would keep the digital code in the box as-is, though offer to send out a copy of the disc free to any CE purchaser, if they show proof-of-purchase and the UPC of the CE. That way, whomever purchased the CE could either sell the digital copy or the physical copy (with the steelbook, though who would be stupid enough to do that) and recoup some of the cost.

 
Does anyone know if you when using a credit card, the new square enix store, charges now or when it ships.

And does it put a temp charge on the card.

I wanna pre order the new Dragon Quest Heroes Collector's Edition.

I wonder if that's what was wrong with the Batmobile edition too? I can see it being too pricey for them logistically speaking if they had to return every CE back to some warehouse somewhere for "re-fitting" or "cleansing" and then ship them back out again -- the compounded shipping costs on that many boxes that size could have killed whatever margins they had for selling those editions?

My theory is the bat mobiles were just badly made. Kinda like those epic mickey limited editions in which some people reported getting broken mickey statues when it was brought. We can only speculate

I doubt it. "Poor quality" sounded totally reasonable to me, especially since that Batmobile was supposed to have moving parts. Maybe when it "transformed" it could easily break and they didn't want to deal with the same horror show that the DA:Inquisition CEs seem to be going through (where they end up managing replacements for awhile).

Who honestly bought the CoD: MW releases that had a drone or remote control car? Did you ever actually use it?

I thought I'd point this out, since you mention bookends... The Halo 5 LCE statue is in fact bookends that can be separated.

I think the smarter/easier/cleaner approach is to just toss a darn disc in the box and abandon this "Digital retail is the future!" bullshit they keep trying to do. Handing out extra copies is a bad idea. That's like burning money in a bonfire.

Agreed. MS could market it as a "give a copy to your friend" or something else like it. I wish they would dump the digital code idea, as it seems like a bad move, plus it makes the purpose of the steelbook pointless.

 
Well only the batmobile was advertised to be made by TriForce so it stands to reason the statue won't have any delays or screwups since Triforce didn't make it.

Walmart.com shows Arkham Knight LE delivery date has slipped to 6/24, but UPS still shows EOD 6/23. Walmart.com was really wrong about the delivery date for my W3 CE so I trust UPS's info over theirs.

I agree with you. For me, space is becoming more of an issue than cost, so I'm actually going to have to stop getting large CEs sooner rather than later if I don't start getting rid of some stuff.

Might be a moot question, but anyone left that has the Arkham Knight Limited Edition? Finally got paid, and it seems like everyone's sold out...
 
So is BB canceling all Batmobile orders? Been trying to get through to their support line since I got the email, they must be getting hammered, been dropped once and on hold with their horrible music for a while now.
