Again, this is WB's problem not GS'. It's a little reaching to expect a retailer to lose money on what is a publisher mistake. If anything you should be angry at WB for waiting till the last minute and only offering shitty skins as recourse. It's really generous that BB and Amazon are offering credit but you also have to realize they're trying to take share from GS and are doing so to try and retain their new customer base.

There is a "Deluxe Edition" so far, but no word of a CE that I've seen.

My best guess is that the Batmobile editions were in the process of their mass manufacturing and for whatever reason, the copies were not up to par with the prototype. Triforce had to have made a prototype that was approved awhile ago. Whether they went cheap on everyone and outsourced it to a vendor that used cheaper parts using Grade F material is anybody's guess. I think that's what may have happened though. Remember that the Dragon Age Inquisitor parts have yet to be shipped and Josh himself acknowledged these were being outsourced to China. The manufacturer probably waited out on some cheaper material for the batmobiles and that's when shit hit the fan.

WB waited until one week before the game came out to cancel the batmobiles and made an asinine decision to release the 52 skin pack for free to everybody. How that is being spun as a consolation to the affected preorders is just a total blunder flat out. There's a giant thread on the WB Games forum that the administrators have deliberately ignored that the fans have been continuously bumping and asking how that DLC offer makes any sense.

I'm actually a little conflicted. I want the game to do well since I enjoy what the developer created yet I'm also insulted by the publisher to remain quiet as to how their consolation is supposed to make anybody feel better so the other side of me kind of wants this game to fail at the same time.

TL;DR I blame both the publisher (WB Games) and the manufacturer (TriForce) and don't think they'll ever release the CE since the quality was absolute shit. Corporate America always outsources cheap material so that's why we get so many shitty statues etc. If I was WB, I would have just handed out season passes to the retailers and coordinate with them to distribute them to only the affected customers.

See now this makes sense.
 
Project Triforce stuff (that comes packed with games) is garbage anyway, their only decent one was the Last of Us' Post Pandemic statue.  The faces were kind of off but it was nice and sturdy and well detailed.  I have my Max Payne "statue" boxed up trying to figure out how to get rid of it because it's too ugly to display with actual quality figures/statues.

You need to have an "oddities" section or a hall of shame so you can just glue that statue to a sturdy board so it doesn't fall over and there you go.

I really don't get the video game statue thing either.  People must not be interested in displaying other kinds of art, toys, or sculptures.  They are usually very low quality too.  Maybe 1 in 8 of them are nice enough where I'd want them, but pre-ordering statue LEs blind like that makes no sense for me.  Unboxing them is typicaly a big let down.

Thank goodness for unboxing videos that come out before it's too late to cancel our pre-orders.

You must have misunderstood me, because ai never blamed any retailer. I realize that the fault is on WB, and they should offer a better apology...that's why I made the comparison to Ubisoft - another publisher.

I am going to guess the red tape is with Lucas / Disney as they are very protective of their Ips. EA loves money and if they had approval I'm sure they would announce it. Going to guess the content may have something that may be tied to new trilogy so they don't want to spoil it until officially announced.

Wow, my first regret over getting the iPhone 6+. I guess I can use my old 4S as a dedicated Pip-Boy.

 
I'm really surprised that people are actually going to stick their expensive phones in that thing.  I mean, I guess if I had one of those prepaid disposable smartphones, I might, but I would be worried about scratching or other damage and just the fact that this seems like a try it once type of CE item and then leave it on the shelf to get dusty.

Its a novelty. 99% of us will try it once or twice, go "huh, that's sweet" and then never bother with it again. But, it'll be cool to see on the shelf and show friends every once in a while.

 
Yes I probably won't use the actual Pipboy but I plan on using the actual app for it a lot. Basically you can use your phone to manage all of your Stats and everything, no more bringing up the Pipboy in game to upgrade and such. Now you can do it right on your phone while your still playing.

Too bad The Witcher didn't have something similar, seems I've been spending more time in the inventory and alchemy screens lately. It'd be nice to have the Beast info on a second screen while playing.

I'll give them credit for being original with the idea. It makes sense in-game while something nobody else has tried with their CE before.

Not sure but most games with smart glass support also receive support on the ps4 second screen, but I could be wrong. If the Vita had triggers that'd be a good thing to have. Using your Vita as the Controller but also having a screen on the Controller, almost like the WiiU.

So my LE batman I ordered at Walmart for release day in store pickup is still not in yet. Website says delayed. I already emailed last Tuesday and got 20% off. Debating if I should cancel at this point. The hype is over for me.

IMO, only keep the order if you collect steelbooks. The LE DLC is already free for all and the artbook - while nice - is probably part of the larger artbook coming up. The comic and statue are not worth the premium.

I don't collect but I really did like that one. I got an email back. 7/1 pickup date. I responded back that it was totally unacceptable. They advertised release day pickup and they want me to accept 9 days later. Unless they are going to discount it more, I am returning it. Last time I pre order anything from Walmart.
 
 
Even MicrosoftStore.com and Frys.com are selling Batman Limited Edition now. It was a massive overproduction.

Should i pre-order that dragon quest heroes CE on the square site? Do square editions drop down in price? Do they charge immediately? Am i asking too many questions?

I agree. If you got the glitch price then its well worth it. I traded in the game yesterday at BBY and got $42 after trade bonuses and GCU. If you also count the $10 pre-order bonus, then its like I payed $11+tax to rent the game and keep the extras.

I want the game badly, and am a sucker for CE, but the stuff provided does not justify an extra 40 bucks to me. Not even an artbook, steelcase, or soundtrack. I'm sticking to the Day One Edition.

Well couple of things here. The one Square enix Collectors Edition that rose in value was the Kingdom Hearts 2.5HD collectors edition. It was msrp at $99.99 but price jumped to upwards of $250 in the secondary market shortly after it sold out a couple weeks before release date. It was also a Square Enix store exclusive. Dragon Quest Heroes CE is also a Square enix store exclusive so it's probably pretty rare. But I think KH also have more die hard following here in the US than DQ. Not to mention this DQ game is a spinoff. Regardless I preordered one cause my wife wanted the slime plush and I wanted to play the game anyways since both me and wife likes Dynasty Warriors, which is what this DQ is modeled after.

I don't know brotha, DQ has a sizable niche audience here specially after releasing so many titles on the DS. Obviously a smaller fandom here than KH but I think specially with that cool plush that this edition if rare will rise in value. Smaller pool of buyers but buyers with hungrier appetites.
 
I voted metal sign, arm sleeve, Adam statue. You people and your steelbooks. I'm impressed they had some different choices available.
