I was never concerned because I knew it would. I guarantee this will be the game of the year. I don't see anything topping it.

Probably because of:

1. Potential it's the last one.

2. The not-so-secret rift between Kojima and Konami could have thrown the game into the toilet.

3. Gotta get that satisfaction of Internet peers you'll never meet.

I've never played a second of MGS in my life. After playing a few hours of Destiny, get the MGS one.

 
So i asked this question in the Guide CE tread but nobody answer me so i will ask here. Does anyone know if the MGS 5 CE guide be 25 at best buy at release day? or will it only be 25 on pre-order?. I really want to get it and I have my 50% off games coupon but I want to make sure it will work.

 
Nobody knows what the guide is going to cost next week if it isn't in the Sunday ad.  But you can always go buy it in the store and have it price matched to Amazon.

UGH, I knew I should have bought an Amazon.fr giftcard instead of paying with my card. Back when I had it locked in the Dollar was 1.07 to 1 Euro, now it's 1.16... Now it's closer to 440 with 2day shipping. I really hope the Euro falls a little bit in the next week.

yeah mine came out to about 440 with the fastest shipping option lol....

oh well. not worth missing out on one to save 10-20 bucks

 
How do you change your payment method for orders placed on amazon.fr?

I'm using chrome, so everything is translated, but I just don't see an option?

I sped through the checkout so that I could get an order in but I really want it on my discover card (better cashback, no foreign transaction fees).

Edit: Nevermind. I guess you can't use discover on amazon.fr?

I have it saved as a payment method on my .com account but when I checked out with the same account on the .fr website I didn't see it as an option so I just used a different method.

I went back and still couldn't find it so when I tried to add it to the .fr website their is no option to pay with Discover?

That stinks

Regardless, would still like to change the payment method to an AMEX, which does appear to be accepted but I don't see how to do it

The change payment and shipping speed will not be available for a few hours after you place your order. I think it could be 12 hours or more before that option is available.

Are you sure? I just checked again and it still says midnight Pacific on both the image in the preorder section and on the actual game page for MGS V on the PS4 PSN Store.

Dont know about changing, but they definitely dont take discover. Trust me, I tried :p

 
Anyone know if square Enix has a good pre-order system? I've had the dragon Quest collector's edition pre-ordered for months, but it's getting close now.

They said they would send me a reminder email. I got the basic shipping, I'm hoping it'll still be here release day or before...they've done a good job of not charging me beforehand at random.

Just wondering what yalls opinion on them is. I've only ever done pre-order through gamestop.

I preordered type 0 CE from them and everything came just fine. I think you get it by release date even with the cheapest shipping as long as you preordered by a certain time. Btw the DQ Heroes CE is square enix store exclusive so not like you even have any other choice but to preorder from them.

for those of us that preordered the mgsv console from amazon.fr and paid in euros (358.49 i believe with the cheapest shipping), do you think that with the euro getting stronger in the last week or so will we be charged more than the approximately $408 to $411 we were figuring?

or does preordering lock in the exchange rate to what it was at that time?

i hope it's the latter obviously lol.

Thanks! Yeah, that's why I ordered it there...I'd have much rather done it locally in cash at gamestop, but I wanted that treasure chest pretty bad haha.

Unfortunately, it's the former. The number of Euros you will be charged is locked in, but the value of those Euros versus the Dollar doesn't get locked in until the moment you are charged which is just before shipment.

Pretty sure the price you paid in Euros, no matter if the value of the Euro increases, is what you will pay in the end because in reality, you are paying the same price. Amazon can't control how much foreign exchange fluctuates, so when it ships and your card is charged, you will pay whatever the current foreign exchange value is at that time.

In that case, you are locked into the price in US Dollars, so the price won't fluctuate given changes in the value of the Dollar versus the Euro. Having said that, the last time I checked, Amazon UK was offering a very poor exchange rate if you paid in Dollars versus GBP. I think I calculated a 4% difference versus what the going exchange rate was, so I always have stuck with paying via my US credit card in GBP and just suck up the 2% foreign transaction fee that my bank charges. I'm not sure what the Amazon.FR exchange rate is, but it's easy enough to tell by experimenting between paying in Euros and Dollars before checking out.
