Well reason why I just wanted to put $5 down is Not to pay whole $100. (Which I don't have right now) I tried and I couldn't do it from one store. I just wanted to see if anyone else got a chance to.

You don't have to put anything down at all when pre-ordering on the store. They run a pre-auth on your card but it disappears after a few days. As long as the pre-auth doesn't break your credit limit, it'll cost you nothing.

You're not using a debit card for it are you?

I prefer to preorder in store because of the additional flexibility of payment method. If I acquire GCs or points between now and March, which is likely for me, I can use them if I preorder in store, whereas if I preorder online, I'm locked into whatever payment method I used to place the preorder.

There are some drawbacks to preordering in store vs online, but so far for me, the ability to change my payment method easily has more than made up for that.

Its a pretty cool controller.... but i mean, you're only really cool if you actually have the 20th anniversary console. The controller puts on a nice facade but it can't fill those empty voids :razz:

 
Any idea if the controller is a one print and that's it? $65 is a lot and if it's likely to be in stock and go on sale on Black Friday, I'd rather pick it up then.

I ordered 2 of them to use with my 20th anniversary system. Terrified of using the controller it came with especially because it has a special pattern on the touchpad that these do not have
 
Still debating on snagging the Destiny Taken King CE from GameStop (WHOM I fuckING HATE) or just getting the regular $59.99 version without all the physical shit included.

Thoughts?

Isn't there a digital only "upgrade" edition for less than that? Why not just go that route. The physical versions are probably just digital versions in disguise anyways, with a one-time-use code in the box.

I'm a big fan of physical media so I would prefer to get the game in that form rather than digital (with a few exceptions). Such bullshit that the CE was locked to one store though, but it happens often now anyways. That and I hate GameStop lol.

IIRC there was no web-in-store option on that CE, but I was able to place a preorder for it in one of GS' B&M stores. It required a bigger deposit than usual, though, I think it was $25.

Yea, haha. There may have been 1 other kid that played it. Not going into my life story, but growing up, most of the kids (like myself) didn't have the money to spend on extra things (toys or games). They would spend what they had on chips or hugs (remember those anyone?) rather than save. But then again, a dollar could buy you 4 bags of chips. I actually used to trace and make my own pogs without a pog maker.

I actually canceled my CE and planned to buy the $20 upgrade instead. Too much video game collector's edition stuff taking up space, most of them not worth anything.

This one does come with the deluxe edition and 4 other games. So it's not just the system. But yea still some SW tax there.

Edit: Did not know about the bundle without the Vader design etched in.

While both the Destiny and Battlefront LE bundles come with a custom console and a physical copy of the main game, the latter also has a custom controller and a voucher for 4 additional games. So I suppose it makes sense that one costs more than the other.

Not really a fan of Destiny, but I love that white console.

I landed on the email list for Rice Digital after pre-ordering the physical release of the US Steins;Gate from them, and they just sent out an email this morning about a BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Extend "Chibi Heroes" edition that is apparently exclusive to their store.  It's a PAL release, so I have no interest, but maybe someone here does?
