I've only seen that happen when you try to pay for a giftcard with a giftcard. Does pre-ordering Deus Ex come with a giftcard preorder bonus? If so, that would cause this to happen. Stupidly, it effectively tosses out your gift card balance.

If you cancel your order, the giftcard balance should be restored after not too long. You can use this page to check your balance.

Hmm.. I don't know. I know I lost a "Sorry we cancelled your Batman" $50 things, but I recall those being setup as one-time-use promo codes instead of rewards certs. I had to call in and raise a stink to get that back. I think they track the rewards certs a bit better and will give you points back if you cancel an order you used them on. Just not 100% certain.

Which leaves $64 for the rest of the items: 9" Statue, 48-pg Artbook, Steelbook, and all DLC.

Maybe $10-15 for the steelbook.  Hmm... still pretty damn high.

I like to do price breakdowns for CEs - this one for Deus Ex Mankind Divided seems priced pretty highly even with GCU.  Maybe it's because I don't value the artbook or statue that much.  Maybe I'll just stick with the standard edition.

I feel the same way in that the DE MD CE is a bit high priced. I do want it and it looks nice, but I feel like it may be a shelf warmer.

I also have a question about store pick up vs shipping CE from BB. Now I had the MGSV CE shipped and it came in on time and perfect. Is there any reason people here are opting for store pick up instead of shipping for the Uncharted 4 CE? Is it just personal preference or are you guys afraid it might not be packaged well? Or is it cause you want it day one and don't want to wait for shipping? I currently have mine set for shipping, but am wondering about changing it. Thanks!

 
Figured you guys might know, is the MGS5 collectors edition's game disc any different looking than the standard game disc? I know the game case says not for resale on the back.

Only reason to have it pick up in store is to have it as soon as you want it. My mail guy doesn't come until like 5 PM. The problem is that you usually have to deal with the hideous preorder sticker they put on the boxes. If the CE is shrink wrapped then no problem.

For Uncharted 4 though, I don't really see it selling out. I bet you can find one on the shelf come release day.

Got a friend who ordered one but it's been sitting on preparing shipment status since last Wednesday night. He had to ask me to let him borrow my game disk since I'm out of town. But I've never seen anything from bestbuy sitting on preparing shipment for a week.

Thanks for the response. That's what I thought about shipping vs pick up. And I agree that I don't think it will be a sell out; I mean it's still available for preorder. I just wanted to make sure I got my copy reserved in case I wouldn't be able to pick it up from the store for one reason or another.

The DLC, as the "augment your preorder" is an epic fail so far, will be expensive unless Square backstabs all CE owners and release everything day 1 at a cost.

The statue, unless you got the European (really limited) CE for HR, that had an action figure, can be a nice collector's item (assuming they don't go cheap here), though I voted for the rifle 1:1 replica back then.

Artbook is a nice thing to have but doesn't have a value in itself unless the game is a perfect 10 on review sites, then everything about it will be "masterpiece"

Steelbook COULD have a good value on ebay, but then again, pretty much like MGSV CE, expect a flood on ebay listings, which will reduce your profit.

If you're getting a console version, you can trade it back to recover some of the loss. I've got a PC pre-order so I can't do that, though I wish BB listed the PC version so I could get at GCU price and lose less money, as right now my Brazilian Steam account (I was born there so I can get the good stuff for less, without VPN or risking a ban, even though the country is sinking) is tempting me to buy the game there, as it's 130 brazilian reais, which is roughly 34 dollars right now

 
Super happy to get a Ps4 Taken King CE earlier. It paid off to wait to get free shipping, although I was getting nervous it wouldn't come back in stock.
 
FYI: the Mirror's Edge CE is indeed exclusive to Gamestop, so for those of you waiting for GCU are out of luck.

So once it sells out, it's likely gone. Granted, it'll probably take a while, so if anyone was procrastinating, I suggest you get your order in now, so you have until Feb to decide if you want to keep it.

You think its worth it for me? I've only played Dragon Quest VIII and I loved it. Not too familiar with the world of DQ as a whole since I understand that this particular game is something that rewards fans with nostalgia. Also is the CE worth it or was it more of an impulse/I'm a fan of the series kind of buy? I really want that slime plushie to put right next to my heartless one, but I don't know.
