I bought something from Bethesda and it arrived damaged to hell. It took them 22 days to reply to my email, only to tell me they received my email and will look into it. I never heard back from them again and had to file a chargeback with PayPal. 

They responded seven days after I filed it and finally offered to do a return.

It took a month to get a legitimate response for a return for their careless shipping. That's insanity. 

I remember someone was on this forum defending them in a very polite way that they are very busy and provided charts and graphs and whatnot to show they had received an influx in demand and had a lot of "open tickets" after they announced the Pip Boy. They lost me as a purchaser of products from their website. I was going to buy the Dragonborn Life Size Bust cause I think it's awesome and would be great in my office... but there's just no way in hell I trust the company. I can't do it at $550 with the high risk there will be something wrong with it and I will be SOL.

It really strikes a nerve with me. It's like they do come up with pretty good ideas, in every aspect of the company, but they just don't completely follow through. Whether it's cutting corners on games, supply chain, customer service, or product quality, it just never reaches 100% effort. I think their model is to do a shit load of things half ass, throw shit against the wall till it sticks, and collect the $$$.

I wouldn't feel too bad about Amazon giving you the credit. If a number of people are having issues, they're likely going to file a claim with UPS/FedEx/USPS and they'll be reimbursed (given the volume of mail from Amazon, those carriers will just give it to them).

That's pretty shitty of Bethesda though. I know it's not their fault but you'd think they have some extra contents to address these issues... but I'm sure after this blows over, they'll just happen to have some "extra" Pip-boy Editions on sale.

Mine is gonna come tomorrow, fingers crossed.

What would be awesome if Bethesda said "Sorry we can't replace the steelbooks since manufacturing on it has stopped but here's a season pass code for your trouble."

 
Bethesda store isn't really Bethesda... I mean it's essentially run by GameStop; the employees there handle all the other former TreeHouse Brand stores (GearBox, Tomb Raider, PvZ, Bioware, etc).

In all seriousness it was handled pretty poorly, and I'm not just saying that because I didn't get one. It sounds like stores got between 12-24; which is essentially 2-4 six packs.

They should have made it so you could only get a bottle if you bought the game and that you could only get a refund on the game if you returned the bottle.

That being said, with all the Fallout merchandise being produced lately I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar pop up on the Bethesda storefront

 
Such a shame to read BB dropping the ball on The Pip Boys, a friend of mine never even received his due to a credit card error.

 
Dalto 11 - you can put it up on ebay and pitch it as a "by design" from Bethesda since the game is about "Fallout" and the steelbook did not survived. Then use the $ to buy another one.

 
After a good 30 minute talk to Amazon customer service I received a $50 refund for my damaged steelbook, as well as another $20 for my extra copy that is still sealed. Still holding out hope Bethesda will throw owners with damaged steelbooks a free season pass or something.

Crazy about the Fallout 4 soda.  Every store on brickseek said they had 12-24 so I figured id be able to wait a couple days before I make the 12mi trek to the closest store.  I snooze I lose I guess.

Bethesda is a shit company. Aren't they the assholes that sued that Scrolls game because they felt they had some copyright on the friggin word Scrolls? I hear they're suing the small indie group behind Fenix Rage because they think they own the rights to Rage too >_< Buncha ass holes

Basically you get the collectors guide with the goodies like the cheaper guide. The cover is way cooler and comes in a dust cover. There is also a Nuka cola bottle opener, some magnetic bottle caps. A calendar and a poster. I love the cover. Dunno if I love it for 50 more.

From my own experience, ordering direct from Bethesda yields a different response than ordering a Bethesda product from a retailer. I ordered a copy of The Hero's Guide to ES Online and it came damaged. Within a week of contacting them, they sent a replacement out and let me keep the damaged one to give away or discard.

Mine showed up in a box exactly the size of the pip boy. No cushion or anything. It arrived fine though. Seems like other people are getting them with cushion.

Mine arrived in a bigger box that needed, bashed to hell, bottom tape almost gone, half as much airpack as needed to make sure it arrived OK. I haven't cracked open the actual game yet, though that's first on my list today when I get home from work.

Not Best Buy's best packaging work in a while, to say the least.

You should be ok. It's a hard plastic case with heavily rounded corners that can't be dented and the plastic slip cover is like a band that goes around the middle and is mostly supported by the case underneath. These are relatively safe from shipping damage.

Whether or not Best Buy plays basket ball with it and runs it over with the fork lift before they put it safely inside an undamaged shipping box is another story...

They forgot to bundle the CE content code inside the PS4 CE packages, so retailers ended up sending out codes. I don't recall if the pre-order and CE codes got combined into one code though. I never used mine either. Should sift through my e-mails and find it and sell it off.

For BB, it was a single code for all the bonus content.

 
Has anyone's Pip-boy Shipped from amazon??

Mine is saying "Shipping Soon"...

Talked with a rep just in case my order will be cancelled and he said that it's not going to be cancelled. Jesus the wait is killing me!

CE codes for the PS4 version were supposed to have the pre-order, CE singleplayer, and CE multiplayer items all in the same codes. In reality the codes only had the pre-order and CE singleplayer content in them. The CE multiplayer items were uploaded to the Playstation store(after the multiplayer was already released for awhile) but the only way to get them is to activate your CE code, then navigate to the related MGSV add-on page on the store and select the multiplayer items and download them. There are only 3 to download that way though(gold pistol, gold assault rifle, and XP boost)

Yeah, Konami screwed up big time with PS4 CE codes . . .

Also. Did you guys get your FO3 XBL code inside the disc or did they email it to you? I haven't seen mine yet.

almost the same here too. box slight larger than retail packaging with with 1 strip of bubble padding laid at the bottom of the shipping box.

it arrived w/o any damages so i guess its suffice.

Exactly how my pc version from BB was shipped. The plastic box was popped slightly opn, so I'm sure it got jostled.

My ps4 version was in a smaller box with some airbags at it is perfect.
