Your sprite example is like getting pissed about a regular plain jane copy of a regular mass produced game like Call of Duty or Halo being damaged. There are 10s of millions of identical copies of them you can replace yours with and they will be in print for years. It wouldn't be an issue. It would be like "Oh my standard edition Honda Civic DX was scratched, whatever will I do, they only made 3 of them". Not.

Sprite isn't a low volume limited edition item that sold out the day it listed. Your comparison is flawed. My comparison compares two similarly low volume "special edition" items on both ends of the scale.

If this was a regular copy I would have never even posted about it, I would have simply exchanged it on the way home in the morning.

This actually happens quite often and is a huge PITA having to constantly have multiple outstanding orders and exchanging and returning them locally. This just happens to be the first time Best Buy has bit me with an item that has been OOS since it was listed. Knew it was only a matter of time.

I have a better idea for you. Just stop ordering CE of games and stick with the regular. You have some serious issues if you are this upset about a video game. Wonder how you react when something more serious happens.

What is more pressing is the war path that is to come from here on out. I'm done with being disappointed 8 times in a row by all my items being damaged. There will be more extensive measures taken to protect myself and ensure I get what I want, especially when they are items that will be long sold out by the time I get them.

There will be nuclear fallout from here on. This is going to hurt someone's wallet until the point comes across, and it's not going to be mine.

Fallout 4 is the only thing in the past month that has escaped damage only because it's a hard plastic shell with rounded corners so there's nothing to up.

NISA is pretty much the only company I can rely on to adequately pack and ship mint CEs time and time again without fail. Everybody else better start hiring more return department personnel. They are going to need them real soon. It is now my mission in life to convince retailers that skimping to save 25 cents on packing materials costs them more in the long run.

I work in retail and while I feel your pain with damaged CE's I will tell you that when customers come in with this "warpath" attitude we tend to mess with their heads and could care less if we get it fixed.

I find its much easier to be kind and realize that the guy you are talking to had nothing to do with the way it was packaged and generally if I am not an asshole I tend to get better results.

Dude was trying to combine deals (they were doing different deals based on time of day) through a loophole in the wording. It was obvious and implied that the deals wouldn't stack but I guess it wasn't worded perfectly in their ad.

He was going on and on in line about how if they don't honor it he will make them call corporate and get it honored. He also said how he will make them take it down for false advertising and how he is a lawyer. Well once it is his turn to go into the store, he asks and the employee tells him no they don't stack. He demanded that they call corporate and he just goes "corporate is closed until Monday lol." He just left saying he will never shop there again and how he was going to drop $400 in the store. The salt was real lmao.

I then went in and got Fire Emblem Path of Radiance for $50. It was a good day.

Would love to see a store sell that game for under $100 in STL, if it existed here. Only copy I've seen is a store in Chicago.

My mistake, I saw someone comment that it was called a collector's box. Like I said I throw them away, so its not a bullet point I normally pay attention too. Although I have seen it advertised as such in the past even when the boxes were such. Just not in this case as you pointed out.

Heard people are getting them from Gamestop in envelopes too.  Just placed a few more orders with other large sized random filler to make sure they have to use a box.

That's exactly what happened with the Destiny Ghost Edition. Bungie/Activision shipped out a bunch of beat up boxes to retailers.

Easy solution is to cut the shit with "limited edition" items and purposely creating exclusivity by only making so many. What does a publisher gain by causing a frenzy over ONLY 10 MADE!!!1!!! ZOMG!!!! besides a lot of hate?

What is the big appeal of intentionally ensuring that one person can have your item but another person cannot? It only serves to promote the one upping look what I have and you don't mentality that pervades our sickening culture.

The people who make these decisions are like the king of some outpost in a Mad Max type world getting his rocks off by throwing half a loaf of bread into the cage of peons below for no other purpose than gaining amusement watching them fight over it and smug each other over who got the biggest piece.

I will never understand the desire by a producer for an item they sell to be exclusive and only in a limited number of hands when people are begging to spend their money.

I think around the holidays, companies are penny pinching with shipping materials. I got some blu rays from BBY in those brown glue envelopes(which I hate more than ebola) and that is the first time I ever got those things from BBY in anything. Ever.

holidays have nothing to do with it and always just been hit or miss. My snoopy Xbox one game came couple days ago in a good size box from Best Buy with about 10 air bubbles in it

Well, Best Buy has been doing free shipping for the holidays, and holidays always have an insane amount of sales, so it would make sense to me that they would try to limit any losses during this period, and skimping on packing materials would be one way.

Yeah the store normally sells it for $100 but they ran a door buster 50% off used games and accessories. They also had an earthbound for $220 (so $110 on BF) but the first person in line naturally bought it. They had camped since 9 pm the night before.

I have to say that in my experience shipping from many retailers seems far worse around the holidays because they are under pressure to ship quickly and they tend to utilize a lot more temps. I just got a bunch of packages from Best Buy, Gamestop and Amazon from Black Friday and a number of items were damaged in transit and had substandard packing material compared to what I have received the rest of the year.

It's ok though. I'm staggering the orders at different times and waiting for previous orders to ship to make sure orders are packed at diff times by diff employees and shifts. Somebody is bound to get it right eventually.

You'd rather see someone get screwed repeatedly so you can laugh about it instead of just seeing them get the item they want in the condition they expect and this being over with? Does that make you feel smug or something? How would that be "great" to you? "Haha mines better" what are you 5?

I friggin HATE those things. Though im surprised this is the first time you got them. It seems i get them every time i order BD's from BBY. I assumed its just what they packaged them in. Even if theres no real damage they screw up the covers a lot of the time with their shitty wavy texture

So I have the LCE and LE of Halo 5. I wanted the statue but I wanted the steelbook and specific disc of the LE. The only problem is that the LE steelbook is busted  . Is there a way for me to sort of transplant the disc holder aspect of the LE steelbook to the LCE steelbook?
