Thanks. They acted like it was a major spoiler. Maybe like when Arkham origins had the little bag with it's statue. That one could've actually ruined a story twist.

After beating the game I think it wasn’t supposed to a massive spoiler but more of a surprise. A certain characters arc isn’t portrayed in any of the trailers and is crucial to the final 3rd of the game

The DQ XI CE is going for stupid money on eBay. It's not even in an actual CE box (game is separate) and the game doesn't even have exclusive cover art. Very surprising to see that.

wow.... I thought you were kidding then I looked. Was irked when I just got mine yesterday to find the game was separate from the other box >_> And my game is out of the case.... shaking around..

 
After jot getting a spiderman collectors edition. I randomly walk into gamestop today. And I thought it was a display box on the shelf. But no it was a spiderman collectors edition. First time in a long time I luck out like that.

Funny thing is it didn't even sell out until a week before release. In fact SE changed limit 1 per person to 2 per then eventually limit 5 per person at the end.

FOMO.

People procrastinate and are kinda debating on it and don't really want it that much. Then when it sells out people are like oh crap, if I ever decide I want one, I won't be able to get one so I better grab it now when I have the chance. And end up making panic buys.

 
For dragon quest I it also helps that the game got great reviews, it really feels like old school rpg made for a modern console that is getting tons of praise.

It either sold out or they took down the page. I received an email about 90 minutes ago about it being in-stock for $109.00. I just checked my email about 10 minutes ago and the page is long gone. I thought it was supposed to go live at 12:01 AM PST for both Amazon and GameStop.

It's possible since last I heard US preorders weren't supposed to start until 9/12. Also, Gamestop and Amazon will likely be the only US retailers to carry it.

Holy hell. $300 plus. I'm tempted to sell mine if I'm getting that much. I only wanted the steelbook and game anyway.

 
Everyone always shits on those Square Enix CE's/LE's but I'll be damned if the greater majority of them don't turn into instant cash cows.

I'v had people offer me $100+ for my Final Fantasy XV Artbook before.

 
Amazon has the Neo Geo Mini and controllers up for preorder. Gamestop has the mini (pictures are of the Japanese version, but game list is the US list). Neither have the mini-HDMI to HDMI cable yet.

A word of warning: neither the Mini console, nor the control pads have micro switches in the D-pad. They are ungated analog sticks unlike every Neo Geo controller, ever.

Squenix also has better controls in place than most LE distributors/publishers. Every time I order an LE there I have to validate my phone number and I believe they check for duplicate shipping addresses. I imagine the overhead of spoofing another phone number would detract at least some of the resellers.

mine shipped out and is coming today though through ontrac who is not their normal carrier. Did yours ever update its release date? Mine originally said coming Friday and then later was changed to today.

Mine has always said will be ready for pickup on 9/12 in store.

honestly if it's not made clear to them, wouldn't blame employees for not realizing different versions come out different days. I imagine if you explain they will fix whatever but might have missed it if told not to put out the game till Friday.
 
I ended up selling my DQ XI CE. It just had to be done lol.

I had mistakenly thought that it had exclusive cover art (SE has done this several times in the past) but it doesn't. I'm playing it on PC instead of PS4, as the console's technical performance is honestly quite a letdown, so the DLC isn't useful to me, and that only leaves me desiring the artbook, which I can buy separately. So a $48 Edition of Light from Best Buy and an eventual artbook purchase is all I'm looking to spend now, which is nice. I didn't buy it to flip, so I'm not too morally bothered about my choice lol. 

 
Wow, my Croft edition status just changed to out of stock.....nice. So the store didn't order me one.

Losing faith in Best Buy.  So much for early release edition...

Does it have to be a special mini HDMI to reg HDMI cable or will one of the $5 ones on Amazon work?

Well, after a chat session. Apparently it's just like Spider-Man, a distributor issue. All I was told is they should have some by 9/15. Nothing was offered to make up for the 'early release' that is not happening. Whatever. 1st world problems, but Damn. I'm about ready to pass on GCU discount and go to Gamestop just to know I'll get my pre-order on time.

Insomniac and SE need to get after Best Buy and their crap service.

This happened to me too, pickup clerk went looking for my copy, couldn't find it. She went asking 2 other coworkers, one of them said the game coming out Friday, while the other double check the info on their phone. Sure enough, the Croft Ed shows as today street date. A moment later they got me a copy from out back, with no pickup sticker. No one knows why my order marked ready for pickup and no copy was was aside.

I got my Spiderman CE yesterday. Steelbook was dented to all shit, and box was ripped. Looked like a return or something. Ended up returning that shit and getting a vanilla copy. I kept the DLC code though since i still haven't gotten my pre order ones and also my shipment was 4 days late and looked like someone played soccer with it.

 
Got my Tomb Raider Ultimate in and the Croft edition steelbook was under the UE box and dented the steelbook. :(
