Reminder: the Zelda Encyclopedia came out today. Looks like Amazon is shipping the deluxe editions in proper custom boxes straight from the publisher

Yeah, got my copy from Amazon yesterday and was surprised with how well it was packaged. It's quite a beautiful book as well - glad I was able to get it for $47.99 when it went down in price during the preorder period.

 
I received a surprised package containing both the SE and the CE of the Zelda Encyclopedia.  I forgot that I had ordered both of them a long time ago haha. 

Now I have two of these CE books, and it's hard to justify opening them when there's a much cheaper SE available.  Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet.  Some of these CE books are so oversized that they don't even fit on a 13" bookshelf space.  The new encyclopedia CE is similarly sized to the SE however.

The $47.99 price was awesome. Feel bad for anybody that didn't pre-order at that price. I'm digging into it tonight.

Thanks for the info. I had forgotten I'd preordered it, got an email asking to update my payment method. Slept on it for a bit before deciding what the hell.

Was able to snag a Spiderman pre-order this morning from Best Buy. Is this really that limited or are there just that many Spidey fans?
 
The Spider-Man LE sold out within a few days of going up in April..It comes back in stock every now and then (in theory because of people cancelling pre-orders or BestBuy cancelling them).

It's interesting that so many people are interested in it now that it's gone, but I guess that's just human nature. And the eBay scalping crowd.

I've been wanting that Spider-Man CE since it was announced but it sold out before I ever saw it go up. I love Spider-Man and I love Insomniac so it's a win-win for me but I haven't been able to get a pre-order in at all.

 
Damn that sucks Urahara taichou. I really didn’t expect it to be sold out right away but then again gcu is ending so maybe that’s part of the reason why. I just hope I can pre order instore in the future. Last time I missed out on horizon CE, can’t miss out on this joint
 
So, I pre-ordered fallout power armor edition, and I got a beta code from Best Buy.  Are they still doing the nonsense of charging you money if you decide to cancel a pre-order that had a beta code?

They reversed course on that the first time around, I doubt they'd hold you to it this time. You really shouldn't preorder stuff you don't plan to buy though

No I understand Best Buy did that; and they are assholes idiots to do that. I'm just commenting on the part about not pre-ordering a game that you do not like. The purpose of the beta is to show you what the game is about and help you decide if you want to keep the pre-order, right?

A beta is a test for the game. Its purpose is to find bugs and exploits or to stress test the servers before they go live. That said, I think it is still a crappy thing of Best Buy to do, especially with a Special Edition (that everyone knew would sell out) of a game that we were still finding info out about. The more I learn about it , the more I'm on the fence about the game.

Alright, I'll give you that. What do you do if you play the beta and you dont like it - either because of what you saw or because of the bugs, who cares? I guess you are morally obliged to buy the game and keep it (or sell it or trade it)? If you can't cancel it, technically you cant return it either...

 
It's not like Best Buy was charging for those beta codes on purpose though. They accidentally added a real value for the codes like they do with physical freebies such as steelbooks that ring up $15-20 when not bundled with the game.

While on the topic of Fallout beta codes, Best Buy sent out the wrong ones for PS4 copies apparently. I already registered mine on the Bethesda website without questioning it since I thought it was just how they were running things, but it appears they just sent out PC/X1 codes to all pre-orders. -_-

No idea if this will screw people over having had a beta code already registered or not, but just a heads up if it doesn't look like a PSN code, it isn't.

Bethesda didn't provide PSN codes. They sent out bethesda.net codes, per reading the email.

PC codes they sent start with 'PC', PS4 codes they sent out start with 'PS4'

 
Haven't even gotten my beta code for xbox yet. Just a confirmation that "we'll let you know when it's here!"

Also, fuck people prebuying all the collectors editions and marking them up. The only thing I want is the west tek bag, so if anyone has that and DOESN'T want it by the time it comes out, I'll buy it. Send me a price via PM.

The beta is still a far ways out, wouldn't worry about not having a code yet.

I imagine more power armor editions may show up on amazon post launch from dingers etc, my understanding from some insiders is that it is actually a limited release though, so who knows

tbh kinda thought the cartridge design would be what the game itself came in, wonder if it's the same size as the cases LRG is using, also stinks the manual is too big for the case lol

I wonder what the purpose of that card holder is in the steelbook. I assume it's not just custom to this particular release (seems overkill to get a custom mold just to hold a numbered plate).

Checked my code and yep, it was for PC. Hope it doesn't mess up my beta having to enter one for PS4 later on, but I suppose I can just beta it on PC if it comes to it; just won't be able to play with friends which was the whole point. : \

 
So I was so dissapointed in the BlazBlue CrossTag CE that I returned mine. Wanted to mention that despite Aksys being a super tiny shop they were incredibly accomodating and I'd easily order from them again.
