From the Best Buy forums:

The initial purchase of the gift card does apply towards your spending threshold for reaching Elite and Elite Plus status. However, using the gift card on a purchase of any kind does not. This is done to avoid a sort of "double-dip" of the spending process. As an example, if you buy a $1,500 gift card, then that amount is posted to your spending threshold. However, using it to buy $1,500 worth of items is not as the initial $1,500 in spending has already been credited to the account. This applies to points as well.

That's pretty sweet... Too bad a bunch of 0 / low feedback "never going to actually pay" assholes ran the price up a lot higher than it most likely would be. They're such a problem on eBay these days.

It was at $5,700 when I looked at it yesterday. It's now at $4,500 so they seem to be deleting bids.

Finally got my 500M order in from Gamestop. Of course they jammed the headset in the box and it looks pretty beat up.the plastic covering the PS4 is ripped to shit and looks terrible but I think the box is okay. I know its pretty but as a collector God it pisses me off since theres no way to get a replacement.
 
I've had my 500 million pro since yesterday and unsure I'm gonna keep it. This thing is triggering my ocd like crazy. It collects dust nonstop. Sucks if I sell it cause it lost value since I've opened and used it, but man this is driving me nuts.

If you don't like it now, you're not going to suddenly like it more later. You'll know it when you have the LE machine that you truly love. Perhaps its time to sell it.

I knew love when I started using my Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain OG PS4. I still feel like the 20th anniversary one is the other holy grail. But those old units are kind of moot now.

 
I still think my favorite LE so far is the Days of Play one. I just can't justify the price tag when it's still a standard PS4 and I have a perfectly good standard PS4. At least they're still easy to find if I change my mind later, I suppose.

I think it was a SE store exclusive. They never reprinted the Nier Automata one, so I don't have much hope for this one.

Oh man that is so absolutely shitty of them. A steelbook comes with a standard pre-order copy of the game, why would it not be in this ultra expensive edition? I hate shit-enix. They better like, toss one into the shipping box with these.

That's my hope, but with as many being given away, I bet they will be flooded on ebay for less than $10 if the UE does not have it.

The same steelbook is being offered in Europe as well. I got to check it out a couple weeks back. Could have picked it up for 5 euro though I passed.

Why would you think they would just throw one in when it was never advertised to include it? Of course they aren't going to throw them in, especially if it means that collectors will double dip.

They had a social media post somewhere that said it was included, but the store does not say it. So, there is a chance.

The Official SotTR FAQ says they included one at no extra cost. It is most likely that IGN received a press copy of the UE and was shipped to them awhile ago for review purposes before they decided to add the Steelbook. It looks like most of the UE in the video was already opened. Here is the link and quote from the official FAQ

The FAQ is dated May 30th and IGN's video was posted today. Even if it came a little early, it didn't arrive a few months ago. I think it's safe to assume the FAQ author is wrong and Square opted not to make changes this late in the game, especially since there doesn't appear to be anywhere in the packaging to even put a steelbook.

Fair warning I've seen reports that they are shipping this extremely haphazardly, apparently they've been removing the consoles from the sony provided box and throwing them into a bigger box with the headset with no adequate packaging inside to stop things from bustling around in there

It's this or buy from E Bay scumbags at the same price without the goodies. Who knows how that system was shipped before and is shipped a second time. At-least if gamestop doesn't ship correctly it can be returned. I ordered the bundle just now.

 
I don't think this Spider-Man console is going to be that hard to find. My store is getting 20 and I don't think store pickup was ever turned on since there are no preorders for them.

The packing for this bundle wasn't THAT bad for me. Mine had bubble packs and was secured with 2 form corner supports, but they removed the 2 other corner supports that were supposed to be on it. It was still wedged in there pretty securely, but not as secure as it could be. My console box was undamaged.

ShadowAssassin - did you end up getting the console trade in bonus emailed to you? I heard there is a code for 50% extra trade in. Not sure if this was sent to bundles or the people that just got the system it's self.

Is GS also scumbags for making these bundles and making it so you pay more for stuff you don't want on a limited item?

 
To a degree yes but I feel it's easier to justify being forced to buy a few extra items at retail cost then paying 60-80% mark up from a re-seller. Personally am super anti people buying things just to resell so am more comfortable buying the bundle. 

 
My 500 Million Ultimate Bundle just arrived from GameStop. And just like everybody else, they took the console out of the original box and threw it in with the headset. There was a decent amount of air pillows though, and everything looks pretty pristine. So I can't really bitch.
