No. Actually I'm far from preordering this POS edition.

Mmm.. I dunno. DoA 5 CE was a Gamestop Exclusive and for a while, Injustice was too. If you go to Gamestop and they tell you that you only need $5 instead of $25 to put down to hold a pre-order, then it's a Gamestop Exclusive.

At $150 though... I don't think the stuff included is worth that. I could be wrong though.

Not true. Last of us PPE is a gamestop exclusive and I had to put $25 down.

DoA 5 was and is a Gamestop exclusive, so i have no clue what you're getting it. Additionally, only the Battle Edition of Injustice was exclusive to Gamestop / EB games, which makes sense, since how many fight sticks is Target or Walmart going to unload? In either case, both of them were / are exclusive to Gamestop.

@ giantqtipz

It literally says Gamestop exclusive, so at most Gamestop is lying to everyone.

Actually, the regular CE for Injustice was shown as a Gamestop exclusive on their website and in stores as well initially. It's likely that they got confused themselves as Battle Edition hadn't even been announced yet. I seriously doubt GTA V CE or LE is a Gamestop exclusive, especially since Rockstar's PR department said a list of retailers offering preorders of both would be posted soon.

From what I was told by Gamestop employees the past few times I went to pre-order games that had CEs, that it was only $5 for Gamestop Exclusives and not their new $25 over $69.99 Policy.

And actually before there was even a Battle Edition for Injustice available, I only had to put down $5 for the normal CE of Injustice. Deeper in this thread you'll see where I was told and relayed that the initial Injustice CE was listed as a Gamestop Exclusive.

The DoA 5 mention was just saying how Gamestop will get exclusive rights to Collector's Editions from time to time. I probably should have made that more clear.

edits: Bojay with the faster typing skills than me! Great minds. :p

I wonder if Best Buy has the Special Edition of GTA V up for pre-order in store yet. Might have to stop by later today and see if I can put $5 down. With the $20 back from GCU it's the best deal I think. That $150 GS edition looks like a waste.
Not really excited for the GTA V Collector's Edition. Didn't wow me as I hoped.
Yeah... honestly, both editions seem really over-priced.

Have any of you guys imported anything from Amazon.de and Amazon italy? Were the box and games in their respective languages?

Ive just noticed that splinter cell 5th freedom is available on amazon.de. if its in english, i would cancel my Game preorder since it could very well arrive within a day after shipment like my injustice preorder import via amazon.co.uk

I imported Ni Ni Kuni Wizard's Edition, both the game and Wizard's compendium were in English.

Did not realize the standard of XIV was only 40$. Still gonna get it, but I think I'll wait for Gamestop unless Amazon gets pre-order bonuses as well

Well, you have to pay a monthly subscription fee as well, so it's not exactly a discount.

European releases generally have multilingual text (English being one of them) on the packaging and all printed matter (manuals, etc.). The same goes for the actual games though sometimes, they will only have voice-overs in a few languages but have subtitles in others.

But Amazon.de's listing for SC 5th Freedom Edition say both voice and subtitles are in German only.

I know. I meant I thought the standard was 60$, and the CE was 80$. Guess its much more than the standard because of the Security Key and such.

I want that mount and behemoth barding too bad to pass up on it.

Does anyone know the answer to this? I googled it, but other people don't seem very clear themselves. I have the PC version ( Pre-Realm Reborn; which I believe the characters got wiped anyway), but I will have to buy the PS3 version to play it on the PS3.. is that correct? If so, will I be able to log into my PS3 character through my PC?

Thanks! I wouldnt preorder it via Amazon.de anyway, since the only shipping option available is Standard Shipping. And thatll take weeks or a month! :X

I guess ill just keep my Game preorder for the 5th freedom. It hasnt been cancelled yet! I guess the package is light unlike the Assassins Crees CE.

Also, im cancelling watch dogs CE. Ill wait for the next gen CEs to show up

Going by FFXI on PS2 and PC, it'll probably work the same: You will be able to access to your character from both systems, switching back and forth PC/PS3 whenever you want. The PC FF14arr will be free download client since you owned the game previously (if you remember login info, pay for newcomers), but you'll have to pay for the PS3 disc version 100% sure unless it ends up like DCU Online in a year. Your monthly fee will also only be $10 instead of $13 or $15, if you're legacy.

Also, technically all characters/the game was wiped and started all over, but before servers went down they saved all character data so you'll have all that old data, just transferred over in a new way. So delete that old FF14 install as this will be a full new game engine.
Can anyone else explain the $149.99 price on the gta V CE? Seems $49.99 over priced
Hat, Map, Bag, exclusive create characters based on classic GTA characters. Its right in the details lol

It'll either end up being super rare, or super cheap.

I say this a lot but I've never had an international package lost... sometimes they just take forever (up to 2 months), but they eventually get here.

Did Wonder Woman's arm fall off on yours?

Im going for super cheap. Hehe! im just dissappointed that for a long awaited game, you would expect something better for the CE. Unless *R is releasing another CE for the next gen and are thinking that people will double dip. quoting michael pachter "its a profit-deal"!

Yeah, I'm kind of mad the creation characters are limited to the 150$ one as well....not sure which I plan to buy yet. Wouldnt be the worst L.E I brought at that price, but I have SOOOO many other games coming in right before that

I know that whats in it, just why its so over priced. $30 for a boring hat, and $40 for a bag I'd never use?! Im extremely disappointed, but thankfully they are offering the LE with just the steelbook and dlc, ill be getting that!

Well the bag comes with a specially designed key and like you said, those hats usually run for $30, but sometimes the cost isn't that logical.

I've had a couple bad experiences with Amazon UK and DE shipping. I had 2 boxes damaged along with the contents inside. The most recent ones were the Dead Island Bait Edition and the Resident Evil 6 Collector's Edition. The shipping boxes were crushed along with the actual CE box, but the contents were thankfully unscathed.

Thanks for the heads-up on that Dark Souls SteelBook. Looks awesome. Ordering 3 of them in the hopes that one of them manages to arrive without looking like it went through a relationship with Chris Brown.

Thanks for the heads up! As badass as this game is, it deserves to be in a steelbook!

Thanks for the reply! I had only played FFXI on the PC, so it's good to hear from someone who played the previous game on both systems.

It was quite awesome how they did it, and I really wish more companies would adopt similar practices. I regularly switched between the PC/PS2/360 when I used to play XI and never had a problem whatsoever aside from maintaining updates on all three systems.

I'm willing to bet that dlc will sell for obscene amounts of money on eBay, so that's one way to bring your costs down.

I think they changed their policy. I only put $5 down on DoA collectors, but for the recent exclusive collectors they made me put $25 down even though it was only at gamestop.
