Something I've been wondering for a while is how and where do you all store your collectors editions? I've been rearranging my game room to make some space for the post-pandemic edition of TLoU, and it's occured to me that I don't know where I'm going to put future editions. I love these collector sets but damn if they don't take up a lot of space..
It's getting to be a big problem. I already don't like the big boxed editions of games, but I am now simply out of room for them, too. I am actually starting to get worried about it.
I use a high shelf. Some needs a ladder to be dusted now and then, but I can't afford a bigger house in L.A., and I also cannot afford not getting CEs

I still live at home until I get into med school (not moving twice within 1-2 years, fuck that lol) so I only have so much control over space. I plan on devoting an entire room to it once I move out, though lol.
I agree with you guys. I have an entire room devoted to it and I'm still out of room.

I was going to post some pictures, but rather than cluttering this thread up, I'll just post a link to my game room gallery.

Impressive collection. Are a lot of those games sealed (including the older stuff)? There's a lot of sheen on the 32X and N64 boxes.

Saints Row IV: Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition forthcoming...https://mobile.twitter.com/SaintsRow/status/342265724359827456/photo/1
$99.99, PS3 and Xbox 360 only.
Does the gun play dubstep music?
According to this article on Polygon - it will actually have audio...
It also says it right there in the twitter post...
Laser and sound.
I thought it could be pew pew pew sounds instead of kick ass dubstep with bass.

But the article that blinknot pointed to ways it's wub wuh audio, sweet.

Power to you player! Impressive collection, I don't collect standard games. There has got to be some more room, get rid of that console box, and some of he standard games can be piled up instead of displayed.

Almost all of the current/last gen CE/LE stuff is sealed, along with a good sized chunk of the current gen standard games (mainly because I haven't gotten to them due to my backlog that would take 3 lifetimes to get through).

Some of the older stuff is sealed (I'd say 5%-ish of it). All of the Jag stuff is sealed, nearly all of the cardboard boxed Sega CD stuff is sealed, and a few others here and there sprinkeld throughout. The sheen that you see is box protectors that I have all of my stuff in. I buy box protectors from Video Game Box Protectors and have virtually my entire collection in them (save for the DVD/blu-ray case type stuff).

Just a heads up - it looks like Best Buy is having more problems with their pre-orders for The Last of Us Survivall Edition.

I got 4 e-mails from them last night:

  1. Your Item is Still Backordered
  2. The Release Date on Your Item Has Changed (their system keeps thinking the release date should be the original May 7th release date - this is the second time this has happened)
  3. Your Item is Still Backordered
  4. Order Cancelled
About a month ago this same thing happened, but they fixed it before their system cancelled orders.  This time it looks like that's not the case.

I called customer service and she told me they don't have any information on what caused the orders to cancel.  She then told me that they can't even place a re-order for me because the item is no longer available for pre-order.  She suggested I call back in 24-48 hours to see if they have any more info.  Super.

My original pre-order was placed way back in February, so If you have a Survival Edition pre-ordered at BestBuy.com, I'd recommend checking into it.

Yo, this thing called LIFE has kicked my arse.. BUT i'm fighting back...  EVEN got Internet at the crib now!!

Anyways I see I missed out on the pre-order for Last of Us - SURVIVAL EDITION...

I really want this, IS THERE ANYTHING or ANYWHERE to buy this now?

Would really want this for Launch, for 2 reasons..

1. the coolness of getting it at launch

2. To support the Game company that makes this, true I haven't played it but what I seen in previews and just the whole concept ALONE makes me wanna give them a Benjamin for this!!

Help a brotha out!

Thank You in advance!

I didn't even have to check into it--I got the same emails you did. What a load of bunk. :wall:

there has been topics made about last of us surivial edition over at the bestbuy.com forum. The rep responded along the lines they oversold for the preorders. If that is indeed true. your best bet would be amazon after release date, or gamestop on/after release date.

While that rep might be right, I think it's because I received an email saying the release date had been changed to 5/7. The online system probably then verified that the current date was past that date, checked inventory, and found that there were no copies of the Survival Edition to be sold. Therefore, my order was cancelled because there weren't any copies to fulfill it.

Why else would it take this long for the order to be cancelled?

i do not work for bestbuy, so i would not know for certain. LOL. thank god, I am not interested in this edition, as I already preordered the post-pandemic edition at gamestop. I believe the artbook is the only thing post-pandemic edition does not have.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but its BestBuy, anything happens at BestBuy.
I think you should start refreshing Amazon just to be safe.

Yeah, I think I will. On the off chance I can preorder one, I can buy Amazon GCs from Best Buy to make up for most of the cost.

It's just such a shame I might not get the $20 in RZ points; that clinched buying the Survival Edition for me, but now I have to consider whether it's really worth the extra $20 over the standard edition as I really only want the steelbook.

I'd just try walking into BB next week. Sounds like their preorders are jacked up, so there might be some on the shelves.

That....does not look like a 90$ value. Unless that figure is either huge, or is insanely articulated, thats a ripoff
you talking about the last of us? lol
No, he's talking about this:

Tried searching and didn't find anything posted yet on this one...

Ugh I hope it doesnt end up being rare, my family decided on a whim to go on a 2+ week vacation and likely leaving Monday. Either gonna have to wait till I get back, or hope I can find a copy somewhere.

Every other site still has it available for PO. Amazon is the only one who pulled it, which I found odd.

I still can't believe Rockstar went exclusive to GS with GTA V's CE. I picked up GTA IV's CE at Wally World at midnight on release day with no problem, even though I hate giving the Walton family a dime, I despise Gamestop even worse.

Then again, since R* chose to up the price by $50 from the last game's CE they can keep it really. The extras in the IV CE weren't that hot and this time they look even worse.

So my dreams of a black chest equivalent being released in the US is being squashed by (the announcement of) this CE, sigh.
