Why does EVERY game think some cheap plastic statue raises the value by $100... Borderlands 2 did it right with their loot chest edition. But the other ones? x.x

Seeing as how the AC3 LE is still sitting on shelves, I think its probably worth passing on the AC4 one at least until there is a decent drop.

It doesn't raise the value by 100, it raises the MSRP /to/ 100. As far as I know the grand majority of CE's contain more then just a collectible statue/figure - so the 40 dollar increase is spaced between those. That being said, most of the time - the figures aren't cheap plastic green army men either <.< If you don't want it - or like it - that's understandable; no reason to spread that rhetoric without the facts..

WTF.

I don't think I've ever seen a CE spread across SIX freakin consoles before.

That being said this must be one of the first CE's for the WII U right?
Wrong the Wii U doesn't have any Collectors or Limited Edition for Watch Dogs.

Hmm, not sure. It allowed me to select the Wii U Limited Edition when I posted, but now it says "not available for this platform." Same for Xbox One. Gamestop just has the Limited Edition listed for PS3, PS4, 360, One, so I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure that the Ass Creed IV and Watchdogs CEs will get cheap because they aren't retailer specific. I think one could easily wait for a drop on those.

same was said for last of us surivial edition, being readily available, I will preorder. and decide later on

Huh, that's a pretty sweet CE for Watch Dogs, though I wish there was a version without the figure for maybe $79.99-$99.99 since I'm not into collecting those. :\

In my opinion, Watch Dogs, despite being a new IP, probably won't be as limited as The Last of Us since it is transgenerational and multiplatform.  That being said, it feels slightly overpriced but still looks pretty cool.

Good point, just noticed that Bestbuy is now listing those as well.
Interesting points, but in all honesty, retailers are getting better and better about not overstocking large CEs and most retailers that used to stock a lot of CEs in store like TRU, Target, Best Buy and Kmart either don't stock CEs at all anymore or only do so for preorder customers with no extras ordered. Heck, with the exception of games that were just bad, and a couple of other oddities like Tomb Raider and Dead Island Riptide, I think most CEs this year pretty much sold out at or just shortly after release.

Man, I really do wish they would make some CEs with just the steelbook. I just dont have room for all these statues anymore. At least GTAV has a steelbook only version.

The image posted suggests that the edition will include a statuette of 23 cm in height, with a charging Batman hostile to his lifelong nemesis, the Joker. We also see an art book, a box with a putative metallic 3D effect and 2 exclusive downloadable content showing what appears to be an alternate costume for the Dark Knight and the challenges of Deathstroke package, same as is given to fans to away a copy of the game. All included in packaging that will holographic effects.

It should be noted that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has not confirm the package yet, so we can not take for granted. However, both the image and the projected material look authentic, so do not doubt for a second that the study will soon make known officially priced, hopefully, not too high.

Batman Arkham Origins will be released on October 25 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC, while a version known as Batman: Arkham Blackgate Origins will arrive on the same day but for PlayStation Vita and 3DS.

I posted this in the Japanese niche thread but I figured I might as well post it here too.

Namco Bandai has announced that there will be a special edition of Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers.

saint01_thumb.jpg

This package includes the PlayStation 3 game, a Pegasus Seiya with the classic Pegasus cloth costume and a DLC code to unlock that costume for Seiya in a special box for 13,480 yen ($135).
And...

First print copies include a code that adds Shion as a playable character and a Saint Seiya theme.

Is this edition coming to North America?
I would say no. But this game is seeing a physical release in Europe, and it was announced a couple weeks ago that a CE for Brave Soldiers was in fact also coming to Europe. The way it was described, I expect that this is the exact same CE.

So basically even though this wont be seeing a physical release in NA, there will be English versions of this CE out there. I'm gonna keep my eyes open and maybe pick one up if possible.

I hope so im a huge Saint Seiya fan.

Does Namco Bandai ship overseas?? or does this sell at an specific retailer??
I honestly have no idea if they ship overseas or not. I can't even find a way to pre-order the game through their EU store. The CE hasn't been listed on the EU store yet either.

I did however find that the Japanese version of the CE is already up at Play-asia for $180. Here's the link if anyone is interested: http://www.play-asia.com/saint-seiya-brave-soldiers-limited-edition-paOS-13-71-bp-49-en-70-6ub7.html

As I previously speculated, it turns out that the EU CE for Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers is indeed the exact same one as the Japanese version. Now being called the "Seiya Edition" in the EU, here's a pic:

SSBS-Euro-Seiya-Edition.jpg

Thats...really not that bad for that price? Considering what other stuff tries to charge 150$ for.

I'm really considering this one, especially since I'm a fan. Put an order in, if it doesnt apply for the DLC or 10$, or doesnt sell out soon I might cancel.

According to Deep Silver's twitter it should be available at Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon. In store and online is what the tweet said.

bestbuy is always the last one to update their site, they still do not have the wub-wub edition for sr iv on their website. i would prefer bestbuy, because of the $5 deposit on games.

you are going to have import this, it is not sold in the north america retailers. probably amazon uk, or something europe. but you will have to wait for further announcements
I don't mind importing if the price and shipping is not too crazy, but for $170 Australian + shipping... seems a little expensive. :(

unfortunately, that is probably the price you should be expecting when importing video game collectors edition, video game is not a cheap hobby. Otherwise, there would not be a cheapassgamer forum, where people like us look for deals on games. but the Saint Seiya brings back alot of childhood memories, i remember watching it. lol

No, $178 is definitely a little pricey. Especially when you can order the Japanese version off play-asia for only $2 more. Airblade, you might want to hold off on pre-ordering it until Namco Bandai releases an official price for the CE outside of Japan, which I don't believe they've done yet. It doesn't help that AU is really weird about their pricing of video games too.
