It's a numbered 20,000 unit release. They are plentiful but just what is left after the original printing. These will by like Symphonia and probably be gone once they are gone.

 
So I generally look for steelbook CEs and it appears that Street Fighter V doesn't have anything with an SB in North America. Right now I've had to preorder from Game for around 70 bucks which I generally hate. I thought that CAGers may know of a cheaper SB option so wanted to throw the question out to people in this thread. Thanks in advance.

 
So you can call Walmart at 1-800-966-6546, press 3 and then 4 to be directed to a human. Just say you were having problems placing an order and was hoping they can. Tell them Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition, make sure it is the right price, then proceed with CC info. I had free shipping but then had a "Preorder" shipping fee tacked on. I guess this is so it arrives release date. Lame but a small price to pay.
 
How did Walmart secure an allocation of CE's???  I'm genuinely curious, as they did not get any of the first game (only BB, gamestop and Amazon did if I remember correctly)

Just finished calling CS and the guy said that he can't even place orders via their system because it is all screwed up... WTF! Stupid WM!

Thanks I was able to get an order in. Just needed my email and after verifying my address and CC they placed the order. Verified my order number in the order history and also got an email confirmation.

I think it's just not working altogether for some people's accounts.

I asked the rep if he had received other calls on this already, and he told me he had already taken one for the same thing, but he was unable to checkout for that customers.

I got super nervous since he told me this at the start of the transaction, but luckily he was able to get through it for me just fine.

It does sound like they are having a system wide issue, and not just on one item, so that could be what is causing this hit or miss ordering.

 
I called twice and was told that it couldn't be ordered, then the 3rd guy was able to put it through.  So keep trying!

I'd say just call back again, and see if the next person can, and rinse and repeat.

Hopefully it'll just go through eventually by someone.

Asking the same person to do it will get you nowhere since their expectations is that they are helpless if they can't do it the first time, and don't try, don't try again.

 
Due to state restrictions this can't be shipped to my zip code?  Someone needs to tell Walmart Nintendo is censoring all the naughty bits out!

 
supervisor told me that since the system was buggy it is mandatory they  are not allowed to place orders for the product.  said to keep calling back and checking if the system was fixed and hopefully i can get one.  Simultaneously on my house phone i was calling as well and got a female rep who easily verified my info and then placed the order

So keep calling and ask for different people!

 
my advice is to tell them that you do not have access to the internet at the moment and would like to place an order. do not start by giving them outs telling them that it wont ship to you. i was able to get an order thru but i think we are getting furniture.

Looks like NoA and the furniture industry have found a way to bait n switch hundreds of customers.

They should just start naming all of their furniture after games.

yes exactly! first lady who i told about the ordering she asked about the region restriction and told me theres nothing she could do, they will stonewall you if you mention it

 
I think the point is really that if one person says no, instead of wasting time with them, just say thank you, hang up, and recall asap.

 
Was finally just able to get in for 1 dresser after going through 3 reps. Thanks for posting! FYI, don't mention any state restrictions otherwise they will act as if nothing can be done.

Walmart has been 100% with my preorders in the past (mostly amiibo), but the occasional Nintendo CE that sells out elsewhere has been delivered without issue from Walmart, so I wouldn't start crying "the sky is falling" just yet ;)

It's not so much the fact that it's Walmart, although that's part of it. It's moreso that there are obviously technical problems with this in their systems, which makes me skeptical that they really have as much as they think they do.

 
I was on the phone with a rep, giving them my credit card information, and as they hit order they got the out of stock notification. Dammit.
