Mine came in the same box from Best Buy, and there was a small ding on the corner. Nothing too bad, definitely not as bad as yours and I am 99.9999% sure I am going to return it. Although.....I did have this exerience from Best Buy late last year...

So much for hoping that the FE CE would pop up again on Amazon or BB. My order from GS shipped as well. Paid some ridiculous price for it. I know it'll be worth it, but it makes me sick knowing I could have gotten it for $30 less of Nintendo didn't make this thing so damned limited.

It's been forever since I ordered from GS. Forgot if they package well or not. It may be a while before I even see the package since they probably shipped media mail to Hawaii which takes up to three weeks. :(

I've been flagged a couple times in the past few years.

Basically just had to wait off the six months probation they put me on each time. XD

 
Didn't think Best Buy actually did that.  Considering I buy a lot of stuff, and rarely return anything, I should be OK.  What pisses me off the most is the last two items I ordered from Best Buy online, came in bubble mailers, and both were smashed.  One was for me, the other was a gift.  I went and complained on their forums about it and they said sorry but tough shit.  So, what other option do I have?

They don't give the user an option for how it ships which they should.  I would rather pay a dollar more in shipping than have to go into a store and do an exchange on an item I ordered online that came damaged because it was shipped in a poorly padded envelope and thrown around by UPS.

Also, Best Buy does not use your Driver's License for returns if you use your Best Buy credit card, or even for any returns anymore for that matter, thus avoiding all together the TRE (The Retail Equation) and possibly having your return ability banned.  That whole process was bullshit to begin with.  One person could return one thing because it was broken and be flagged, while another could return 10 things and never get flagged.

So has anyone ever order any Steelbooks off eBay from other countries. I was just browsing and seen a few I might be interested in picking up. Some were from Japan, Hong Kong, Russia Federation, and so on. I always see and hear of horror stories about CE getting damaged during shipment, not sure if I want to risk a Steelbook being sent around the world. I'm still pretty new to collecting and really only interested in Steelbooks and CE guides. Just thought this would be the best place to get some feedback.

I have.

I ordered two MGSV steelbooks from the UK last year. Both came in perfect shape. But I think it all depends on the seller and of he/she is reputable or not. Just pay close attention to their feedback. That is the best way to determine if it is worth your time to place an order with them.

Funny thing was, they both came in one bubble mailer with another thin layer of bubble wrap around them. No damage whatsoever.

I've bought a couple hundred steelbooks from various countries, oddly enough only the ones from Canada have ever shown up with damage.

You roll your dice and you takes your chance O:)

I took up collecting Steelbooks in an effort to reduce other crap and because of the personal admission that I just don't care about any of thee other stuff generally with CEs. I've basically isolated my SB collecting to DIsney/Marvel movies and PS4 games. Here's what I've learned so far:

1. over seas retailers are all over the place; Zavvi uses a simple cardoard sleeve, Amazon often ships the game in a much larger box, and places like Game.uk or FNAC ship in pretty oversized boxes with padding.

2. ebay sellers generally do a good job because they don't want to deal with a return on a product they couldn't resell but you can get a better idea by looking at whether they have a dedicated steelbook store or are just selling a personal item or collection. Some ebayers are just bad at packaging.

The only place I have a consistent issue with is Zavvi because they use a cheaper cardboard sleeve and offer very cheap shipping but around 20% of all steelbooks I get from them have some sort of damage.

 
I only got damaged ones from Zavvi in that brief period they used like an envelope or whatever it was.

Amazon France or somewhere has special boxes for steelbooks. It suspends the steelbook in the middle of the box using cardboard tabs.

Amazon Germany shipped me the Hobbit set without a box. Just a label on the damn thing. They made me send it back and replaced it.

My eBay purchases have all been fine, from UK, Canada, Poland, etc.

WTF is wrong with Best Buy shipping FE SE? Store pickups are not even an issue as they had orders coming in all week in store, but shipping is such a problem. Not one person has been able to confirm progress with BBY either with preparing or shipping status for this item even with express or expedited shipping. Gamestop and Amazon are sending confirmations already and who knows if Walmart is doing the same? This is ridiculous to have such a delay on a simple shipping status. As soon as I send this, watch the status of everyone's orders change.

 
Worst case scenario we all get cancelled and they'll give us Conquest and birthright for free along with a $20 Nintendo e card. That said I rather have the SE for $80.

 
Or less than $70 if you have GCU. Hell, how about giving us the SE for free? What was that one game that they gave away for free for a different screw up on their end? Was that the Zelda Majora's Mask Skull Kid Bundle?

Judging by the orange sticker on the bottom of the shipping box with the street date, that's the box they received the CE in. Meaning they literally just slapped a shipping label on it and passed it on to you, which is why everything was also on the outside.

That is the same way mine was shipped as well. Still debating on returning it though. I won't play it anytime soon, especially with The Division coming out, and I guarantee the CE will be half price sooner than later.

 
Was at Gamestop and saw like 4 of the CE's just sitting on the counter. This thing was either overstocked, or people got smart and cancelled last minute.

I ended up getting one of the FightPads too, which im 90% sure I'm going to return because apparently they are prone to all kinds of problems and malfunctions

There's no point in going earlier as they can't give you your final receipt until that designated period. You can show up later but you can't show up earlier.
