PC gaming is definitely on a resurgence this year with games like Doom and Overwatch. The desire to build a rig with a new GTX 1080 is stronger than ever. Have you guys been reading the articles and reports about the new graphics card? Just. Wow. I've never had such a strong desire to go out and buy the $600 top-end graphics card until now.

We're now on the cusp of 4k gaming and movie watching on our PCs.

the rumors over new 4k PS4 and XB1 consoles are quite troubling however. A lot of people might start migrating over to PC gaming after consoles have enjoyed their dominant four year run.
Good riddance to them. If they're so hung up on how games look over how they play they aren't gamers anyway.

I have 3-4 year old high end PC- probably the dumbest expenditure I've partaken in over the last 15 years. I find it almost ironic when the PC gamers brag about the performance of their games after the spend nearly 1000$ on a GPU. I'm certainly not trying to race ferraris in my Honda, but the damn thing gets the beer home safely.

For some reason I think you are lieing.... Possibly because whenever a console only player gets called out, they say they have a 'high-end' rig that they bought from best buy for $1000 that can barely run Minecraft because they wasted their money on useless parts; instead of doing proper research and placing the money where it actually counts.

It's actually Alienware. See? Was a stupid purchase. Lol @ the proper research thing. Everyone's got Google these days. I've learned 2-3 surgical procedures from YouTube. It's not about that.

PC guys are just all sorts of backwards. They look down on Mac users etc because they splurge on those pretty machines only too pay more for a pretty FPS than they've invested in their car. Goofy kids.

Yea because MACs are borderline useless unless you are doing video/image editing. Most people get Mac's because they think they are cool or the "in" thing. PC gaming has been and is the best way to play games.

Can use a gamepad on games and they run better and look better; though I have every console from this gen and last.

Also, paying $1000 for a PC/GPU that lasts the length of 2 console generations? How is that bad? You pay $700-800 for PS3 + PS4. I pay $650 for my GPU that lasts the same length AND plays games 10x better + I can browse the internet, look at porn, and watch videos.

I dunno why you 'lol @ proper research'. You probably could have built a better rig than the alienware for 1/2 of the cost and without all the crap they throw on it. And it is as easy as building a lego set as per the instruction booklet.

Well Mac users have their place and they are the more creative oriented platform. The main reason why they are made fun of is because they pay $2000 for pc parts that are outdated. Also, when the MACs were brought into the fold on steam, their ping was notoriously atrocious in online multiplayer.

Listen, just because your salty about your uneducated purchase is no reason to dis the people that are looking to explore their options onto PC. I have all the latest consoles and a nice PC. They all serve their purpose, but I will say that my PC gets a lot more use than the consoles due to gamepad support, graphical options, free online multiplayer, rock bottom discounts, 2 genres that escape consoles (RTS and MMO's), and tons and tons of free to play games. Want to play on your TV on the couch? Easy - plug in an HDMI cable.

Jesus, will a few of you just take it to PMs, or fuck and get it over with?

The amount of pitiful excuses for passive aggressive insults and terrible one ups manship is staggeringly terrible. Im sure you two think youre sounding smart, savvy, witty and snarky in your own heads but god damn you both look ridiculous to everyone else and look like a couple kids trying to prove how intelligent and superior you are but come off as unintelligent.

I'm not sure where I placed myself into the category of console gamer. Was just calling it how I see it although I own pcs, macs and consoles. Honestly I prefer most of the hand helds cause these days the only real gaming I get to do is just before I fall asleep. I'm not salty at all. The Alienware I bought 3 years ago still performs very well- I just don't use it enough to justify any gaming PC purchase.

(RTS and MMO's)
To be fair, consoles have added TESO, Neverwinter, and DC Universe online as MMOs, as well as FF XIV on PS4. No, they don't have WoW or GW2 or Runescape or whatever, but they have some options. XB1 will also add Halo Wars 2 at the end of this year (though that comes to PCs as well).

Rather than being a hole in the software portfolio, those are more an issue where it's nigh-impossible to make a really good experience with a controller.

Speaking of situational irony ...

Thanks for posting this! The last time Best Buy had a price error on a CE preorder (Trails of Cold Steel Lionheart Edition for PS3) they honored it no problem at launch. In for one!

Im not a big fighting fan and I hadnt played a KOF since like on the PS2 but Ill give this one a shot as I do like SNK. And hell 60 for the premium plus GCU? Im willing to give it a try.

I needed to pre order corpse party back to school edition anyway.

Ditto, in for 1.

They didn't honor the Dark Souls 3 CE at $59.99, since they eventually switched it out to the correct listing information, though this one I think would go through since it's just a price mistake.

I'll cancel my regular version I pre-ordered and make sure to grab a PDF print of the item page just in case.

I tried searching for the regular edition at Best Buy and I can't seem to find it now. It was there last week. There only appears to be one listing - this one - so I'm wondering if they just added the Premium stuff to the regular listing.

They did. The listing used to be for the standard edition with a Best Buy Exclusive Steelbook (for the same $59.99 price). I pre-ordered that back on May 6 and that order is now showing the Premium Edition.

Same here on my end. My May 6th order was the original one and when I canceled it from before, it showed that it was the Premium. Not sure what was up with that, either.

Something like this happened to a lot of people with Persona Q CE. It was listed at the regular ed price, they updated it after a bunch of people pre-ordered, but said they'd honor the CEs for the regular edition price that people pre-ordered with.

Not sure about others, but I ended up being sent the regular edition. It took quite a few calls before someone spent an hour doing "research". I thought it was BS but he eventually started reading info from their forums and said I was right, they were wrong, and send me a CE free of charge. So I ended up with the regular game and CE for $50 or whatever it was.

Right. It's no wonder you spend more time gaming on PC when you won't pay for Xbox Live Gold or PS+.

Wonder if these are failed payments or if AMZ is expecting another shipment of them from Blizzard. Still available so it seems like it's probably the latter. Failed payment restocks usually go pretty quickly.

Don't believe they are gonna produce more of these. I think once they are gone, they are gone.

I'm pretty sure it's been in stock the whole time. I've been watching it daily especially the way everyone's raving about it- at least the ps4 version seems to have been up the whole time.

I'm a console gamer, have everything from NES/SNES/SMS/Genesis to PS4/XBO.  Mostly because I enjoy single player games, cinematic story telling, and I'm  a huge JRPG whore and just fan of the original Japanese definition of video games.  There is just so much character, tragedy, drama, story telling, etc in Japanese games that you don't get in western/PC games that try to hard to be bland open world silent protagonist "you are the character" style reality simulators.

You know platformers, adventure, RPG (Conker's Bad Fur Day, Final Fantasy, Tales of*, Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem, etc, etc, etc).  You know, they stuff you can't get on PC?  And even if you can emulate it, those games aren't meant to be played sitting all stiff in an office chair at a desk, they should be played on a couch, with a controller, under a blanket, with hot cocoa when it's 3 am on a icey winter morning.  Bonus points for playing Seiken Densetsu 3 on a real SNES on a Sony PVM RGB monitor while snuggling up with a *gasp* female.  Don't know too many women who bother to snuggle in an office max chair with you while you're playing PC games :p

I'm kinda tired of FPS games anyway.  I can make controllers work for single player and coop hybrid games like Borderlands and Fallout.

All that said, despite having the PS4 CE of The Division though I jumped ship to PC and I just got my order in for a GTX 1080 FTW this morning and I'm probably going to get caught in the dark spiral of PC building again for the first time in 10 years.

And contrary to a previous post, the GPU was only $700, the Kenne Bell 2.6 on the 700 HP Cobra in the garage was $3500.  More money in Mickey Thompson tires per year than spent on GPUs so that stereotype can suck it too.

Just confirming that console and PC gamers do exist in harmony and they don't always spend more money on their PC than their car.

Sorry, but I have to nitpick your earlier statements, just because they aren't 100% accurate. Obviously we don't have the Nintendo exclusives legally available on PC. Conker was available legally with Project Spark, however that was shut down.

You forgot to mention Neo Geo, Saga Saturn, Dreamcast and so on since you said you "have everything".
And Duo, FZ1 3DO, etc yes. I don't go back before NES/SMS though. 2600, etc. Games didn't really take off for me until 8 bit+ when you started having recognizable characters, definitive worlds/levels and endings, stories, music, etc.

2600 was my first console but it never grabbed me the way NES and onward did.

I have to have a Saturn for Albert Odyssey and Panzer Dragoon Saga alone.

The exception proves the rule. Taking bullets is very noble however.

They do exist in harmony. I grew up console and PC and have had probably 75% of all consoles ever released, but I primarily game on PC. I also have built cars and trucks since I was little and easily spend more on vehicles and engines. That being said, you don't have to play PC in an office chair at a corner desk. You can PC game in your living room, in your bedroom, wherever you want. Hook that bitch up to your 55"... hook that bitch up to your 22" in the bedroom. Stream that bitch to your laptop under the covers next to your significant other.
