They just sent me an email asking me to confirm if i still wanted it. They didnt even give me a date just ... "Not yet available. We'll e-mail you as soon as we have a delivery date."

So torn right now. This is a must have for me.. Definately wanted to play this on day one too. You done fecked up amazon.

Oh awesome. I checked p5 yesterday and it was sold out and I was super pissed I missed it. Maybe I just looked too early. 78 after prime and tax for me. Considering the game woulda been 65 for me at gamestop, I'm happy to have the extras for a little over 10 bucks.

People always make this argument. But it is part of the problem. Instead of trying to build 2 years of hype, just don't announce the game. Don't announce anything until you know where you are at. When a company pushes back a game, it means their developers f'ed up or the scope got very out of hand.

In a perfect world, every game would be maximum 6 months between announcement and release. Keeps hype high and doesn't cause any skepticism with constant delays.

Got my Mirror's Edge PC CE in today.

First off, the outer, non-shipping box included a normal game case with a download-only code inside. The actual CE box has an extra flap on the side. That's where the "game case" is supposed to be, but there's nothing in there. The steelbook is actually inside the box, and is empty. (Side note: even the styrofoam is branded Mirrors Edge.)

I don't think the steelbook looks as good in person as it does in the concept art. I'm not sure how to best describe it, but it almost looks like plastic due to the paint even though it's clearly metal.

I'm still not sure why they included the temporary tattoos. It's such a strange choice.

The concept art photo-things and the lithographs are nice. Come in nice envelops as well.

And finally, I (personally, in my entirely noob and non-expert opinion) think the statue looks better in person than in many of the unboxing videos. In particular, the eyes always looked kinda creepy in the images/videos I've seen of it, but they look much more normal in person.

 
Does best buy charge you full price instantly when you pre order a game online or near shipping date?

 
These app controlled robots are a bad idea anyway. They become a paper weight if the app breaks or gets removed from the store.

They seem to be shipping later and later from my experience. Aside from the fact that many Mirror's Edge CE preorders are in limbo, I've had games that were supposedly upgraded to release day shipping with Prime regularly received late (usually 2-3 days after release) and CEs mysteriously not ship until a day or two after release even when other Amazon purchasers had them ship out the day before release for release date delivery. I just think they have some logistical issues with certain warehouses.

Are you prime? Did you choose no rush or release day? I order pretty tons of new games, including Odin Storybook, from amazon (wife has some sweet CC deal) and zero issues with release day delivery with prime. However, every time I cheaped out and chose no rush for that $1 digital credit, it always ends up biting me in my ass.

I connected to the UK UBI shop and the San Fran edition and the Dedsec are on their site. The San Fran is cheaper than the robot CE and the Dedsec,edition, which looks to be the most complete edition sells for the same as the CE robot and it appears to be a Ubiplay UK only edition.
