I mean from a consumer mindset point of view. People have been buying up $200 CEs without thinking twice because they are $160 with things like GCU, which was the old ceiling for most collector edition prices that many are used to but now GCU is a necessity. But to the publisher they just see $200 CEs selling so they continue to push higher and higher.

It's a disconnect with the actual cost of the CE in the same way places want you to use tokens or points instead of dollar bills.

Then again marketing folks are no doubt keenly aware of people paying $400, 500, 600, 900 for a CE from resellers and they want a piece of that and the 20% buffer that keeps most people from noticing CE prices slowly creeping up is insignificant in the long run.

Didn't Amazon handle Namco Bandai store's shipping?

I guess they don't do that anymore? I had to sign up for a new account there today. My old one wasn't even recognized.

Correct. This is a standalone store and it's a real pain having to bounce around like this for companies.

 
Wonder if Amazon trashed too many prior Namco CEs with the reckless shipping practices and they got tired of the returns / complaints.

I would be willing to bet heavily it's Amazon not being competitive enough in pricing for fulfillment. There are a lot of hidden costs in dealing with them.

 
At work having a normal day, turn on my phone and holy  fuck ing jesus. Come back home feeling like I woke up from a chocolate coma. Straight up though, can Gamestop go out of business? Always $10 more than everyone else. Everything added, for a recap:

It's immune to resellers because there's only so many rewards points people have. You pretty much have to be a regular shopper of square enix to get anything really.

You have to make purchases at the SE store. I'm not sure where you're getting these member cards since I can't remember the last time any game I bought included those after the website change, but you don't get points for those anymore.

They're from a couple of old games I bought after they changed their points system, so they still had the cards. I never bothered to register them after they changed the system, since they got rid of the annual rewards/tiers. I haven't bought anything from the SE store unfortunately...

My square rewards order shipped earlier today. Was surprised it moved that quick. I remember last time I had a bunch of points and grabbed a bunch of ff15 stuff and 3 months later they cancelled my order. Refunded the shipping but not my points.

why does Squeenix charge tax for shipping? Im not going to bother because its only like 2 bucks but thats pretty ridiculous...

 
That Cod CE doesn't look too bad. Considering switching my LE preorder, although I do like the steelbook that version comes with. Hmm.

They're using the same people as Bandai Namco, whose store also has the same kind of point thing going on there too.

I saw the Nier Black Box CE and was like O.O but then realized it was just a raffle ticket for one, and it was already sold out by the time I even saw it. The other super rare items like the Lightning Returns art book was sold out by the time I saw it, but I doubt those things were even available in the first place.

Trying to get the King's Edition of NI No Kuni 2 at GAME. I live in the US.

It is offering international delivery but every time I try to pay it just says "Your payment was not successful, please try again." Both credit card and PayPal give this response. CC details are correct. It's not giving me any more info. Glitch in their system or is it just not available to US customers and this is their way to lock us out?

I've never bought from GAME before btw

The lighting art book was actually available for quite a while. How rare is it now though? Is it similar to the art book that came with the collector edition?

probably. Seems a lot of stuff on there is extra that didn't make it into actual CEs, almost like spares in case of issues with final delivered product.

I think it IS the one that is in the CE with the watch. It looks like it is missing the dust cover though or maybe they didn't include it in the picture. The CE isn't too rare since it's available for less than MSRP on AWD, but still pretty uncommon.

FYI the Amazon UK store updated it's Ni No Kuni 2 page to state that the item does NOT ship to the US. Assuming they get the king edition, I'm pretty sure they won't ship it either.

Has anyone figured out a way to get Game to work?
 
I Pre-Ordered the NNK2 Collectors Edition from Amazon, but now that I've had a day to think about it, I honestly have less than zero interest in it, and therefore cancelled it.  Will I regret my decision?  Time will tell.

Only CE Pre-Order I have out there for the rest of the year as of now is the Shadow of War Mithril Edition, but with the already announced DLC, it's kind of diminished my excitement for the game.  This is probably one I pick up from Gamestop and just tag it, bag it and wait for the eventual Game of the Year Edition.

 
Waiting for premium NNK to show up at BB; is the steelbook the same that was at E3? If so, lol at anyone that paid more than $20 on eBay for it.
