Thanks for this heads up, as I ordered one, and it arrived damaged, and I need to contact them again and see where my replacement is. I've dealt with C&B a few times in the past normally with no issues, but this Sonic book is big and heavy, and it was mail in a priority mail medium flat rate box with only a few air packets for protection.

Well, to make a long story short, I laid in to them after it arrived, as I told them I wouldn't mail a $5 book in that manner, and the high level cost associated with most of their items, should have assured better packaging. CS agreed, and gave me the "we are using a new shipping company" excuse.

What's funny, is the book was originally delayed by months due to some manufacturing issues, as it apparently didn't meet their high production standards, which is fine, as the book is rather expensive. But then you ship it by "Dumb & Dumber" mail services, where it arrives damaged, so now not only was it delayed once, but it was delayed again due to poor packaging. Who or what is ruining these businesses now a days?

I would guess that is why the book has the long wait times, as the LE numbers on this where super large, so no way they sold out, and no way they printed more, so they are probably dealing with the packaging issues, as there is no way mine was the only one to arrived damaged with that poor ass shipping. So be aware of this issue before ordering.

I just don't trust these hipster art and media companies. I know Iam8bit is universally criticized for poor customer service but I have a rez PS4 on my shelf despite 5 different attempts to cancel the order as testament to how worthless it is to anything with them. What was the resolution, are they sending a replacement? Paying for the return?

Thinking the same thing. I've bought some japanese game art books that appreciated in value ridiculously before I finally sold them as I was trying to get of collecting game and art books for the sake of it but I think the most I spend for 25 bucks using half Amazon book coupons that come out somewhat regularly.

 
My Sonic Mania CE still hasn't shipped from Amazon yet :/  It didn't pre-order until about a week before it went out of stock.  I didn't think that would put such a delay on it.

I've bought some japanese game art books that appreciated in value ridiculously before I finally sold them as I was trying to get of collecting game and art books for the sake of it but I think the most I spend for 25 bucks using half Amazon book coupons that come out somewhat regularly.

CS has been great so far, as they got back to me right away after I contacted them, and I've been dealing with the same rep since. I hate dealing with most of these online retailers, as you get a different person each and every-time, and most have only a basic understanding of the English language, which causes it's own set of issues.

They emailed me a return label, and it arrived back to them in one day, so last week I was told it would ship, but I never got a notice. Just to show how good they have been, I message them this morning after seeing that video, and my contact already got back to me with my tracking, as it did ship last week as stated, I just never got the tracking info.

I normally don't spend this much on books, but I would say my gaming magazine and book collection is way bigger than my actual physical game one, as that is more cheap to keep and expand long term. I have gotten some items from iam8-bit over the years, but never had any issues that needed addressing, but when CS is ass, that's the fastest way to loose me as a customer.

So C&B was top notch so far, but I can't give 100% until the new book arrives, and hopefully packaged properly this time. Also, they sell really high end items, so for a company like this to not have a decent CS department, would just not be a good idea.

 
Knew it is too good to be true. Stumbled upon the Ni No Kuni Kings Edition on Amazon UK for preorder. However it says item does not ship to US. Anyone received cancellation emails yet or it will automatically gets cancelled on released day? I'll just keep the prouder for now.

Questions been asked a lot over the last few pages; my general gist is its a hit or miss issue that you wont know about till its suppose to ship. I'll defer to the veterans here though as I have yet to try this method.

Also not sure if this has been mentioned here and its not on the same Ni No Kuni Topic.........gamestop has up for preorder their Limited Edition Version of Destiny 2 For Xbox One. The $99 not the $249 before anyone gets over hyper lol.

 
My Sonic Mania CE from Amazon is "shipping today". I put a hold for the Switch CE at my Best Buy and it's ready. Annoyed that I didn't get it today but I'm confident I should be able to resell one for MSRP.

Game seems like it's great, which will make it harder to resist that art book. It's cool but man $125 is a lot.

Ya I ordered mine over a year ago and I guess with all the date changes some how they f'd my shipping speed i wont be getting it until Thursday. First time amazon has ever screwed up like this in my experiences.

It's only $125 if you want the collector's edition. If you just want the book and can live without the outer box with the inner sleeve/display stand and numbered print, it's $47.

Yeah, mine's not arriving until tomorrow... But I got my copy from Best Buy on Friday, couldn't play the game though. Forgot I preordered one from BBY.

 
My PS4 Sonic CE hasnt shipped either, not sure whats up with that. I brought the Switch digitial version since i wanted that more anyway, and ill probably just sell my PS4 code whenever it comes
 
Both Sonic CEs for Switch and PS4 shipped yesterday and Sine More EX this morning from AMZ.

Completely forgot about switching Sonic over to BB until it was too late :c

I don't know why but I made a very rare exception for this against buying collector edition "games" that don't include a tangible copy of a game.

In for a backup guide on a cancelled card.  I'll wait for BB and cherry pick a guide locally that Amazon hasn't cart wheeled down the block and back.

 
Got my Sonic CE from BestBuy today and man, I didn't think the box would be so big. Now if only it came with a physical copy of the game..

 
The Fallout GOTY Normie version is up on Best Buy.  Not even a listing for the Pip Boy edition.  Thinking it may not be coming to BBY

Luckycollector posted over in the SNES Classic Discussion thread, post 3225 earlier today, that he had an SNES preorder cancelled due to shipping restrictions. Clearly consoles and games are different beasts, but if you really want the CE it may not be a bad idea to hang on to a US one just in case something goes awry, especially with all the disclaimers on Amazon's UK site that they won't ship the game to the US (I know multiple people have added that Amazon UK says this all the time and it's never an issue; I just really want that CE and don't want other people to miss it either because of something like a shipping rule).

 
My PS4 Sonic Mania CE from Amazon shipped straight from a town about 2 hours away. Says it'll be here tomorrow. Of course it is going to my workplace and I won't be there tomorrow so I will pick it up on Thursday.

Keep it until the last few weeks. It might cancel last minute and you may not have either.

Pre-ordered that sweet looking Mario Odyssey guide. My Sonic Mania CE for PS4 is coming on Friday. Plenty of time for me to finish getting the plat relic on Crash 2 and 3. Going to be hard avoiding spoilers.

Clearly consoles and games are different beasts, but if you really want the CE it may not be a bad idea to hang on to a US one just in case something goes awry, especially with all the disclaimers on Amazon's UK site that they won't ship the game to the US (I know multiple people have added that Amazon UK says this all the time and it's never an issue; I just really want that CE and don't want other people to miss it either because of something like a shipping rule).

I really only want the U.K. Version if I can get it for the Vinyl. Other then that there isn't much in the USA one that entices me. If I miss out on the U.K. One I'll just keep the premium edition I have ordered through gamestop.
 
Got my Sonic Mania CE today. Statue is super light, feels a bit cheap but I still dig it, and the "SEGA" when you flip the switch gets my nostalgia going every time. The game is alright. Controls feel a bit too loose but may be something you get used to. Overall I like it, going to play more over the weekend

I have ordered a few games from Amazon UK that indicate they don't ship to the US and there have been no problems. If you are concerned about a possible cancellation you can order it from Zavvi. They have the Kings Edition and will ship it to US, but it will cost more than Amazon UK since they don't remove VAT. Also, there's a chance they might not pack it well, but it seems they have improved since years ago. Veterans here might remember the Zavvi exclusive of Metal Gear Solid and the royal garbage bag they shipped it in.

Damn, I remember that. They put the item in a box that was literally too small. they literally "ripped" the box so it would wrap around the item. I still have this old pic of my copy...

So just an FYI, Ubisoft is lowering the price on their digital Gold Editions of South Park 2, AC: Origins, & Far Cry 5 to $10 less than the cost of the physical version on both PSN & XB1.

I preordered the NN2 CE from them and shipping was free. I'm just covering my bases since I'm not sure if my order from Amazon UK will go through.

I haven't used them in awhile, but back when the first Steins Gate came out for the Vita, I order a few LE sets from them, and their packaging was just about the worst I've ever dealt with. CS was OK, and took care of the issue, but it left a bad taste. I would say it's like dealing with Amazon, as CS is the "right hand", looking to fix any issues, and help the customer. And shipping and packaging is the "left hand", who has no idea what the right is promising, and they can't deliver.

Shortly after that, they began charging shipping for international buyers that was honestly on the side of being criminal, as the rates where just fuck ing nuts. I've said it before, that I don't even mind high shipping charges, so long as proper packaging goes with the price. As I would rather pay more, to insure properly delivery. From what I read at the time, there was no improvement of their shipping practices, just higher rates. So I added them to my "no buy" list, and haven't gone back.

They had some really nice PQube LE sets, but between the retail cost, and the shipping charges, most where never worth getting. And all I ever wanted most of the time was the little art book included, and VGP in Canada offers most of the same standard editions, along with the art books as a free bonus, so I just starting getting those titles from them instead. Maybe RICE have improved, but I'll probably never find out, as between the issues and the prices, I doubt I'll ever go back.

 
A weird off-topic question, but is the Resident Evil 7 GS Collector's Edition rare? And how rare?

Also, what about the Tales of Beseria one in terms of rarity too?

Berseria $275 shipped New on Amazon, RE 7 CE $435 shipped New on Amazon. Berseria MSRP was $150, RE 7 CE was $180 & GameStop exclusive.

Thanks, the Ebay prices seem significantly lower though. Was able to pick up both at Gamestop recently but wasn't sure to keep them or not.
