They send emails for all their LEs announcing when the preorders will start. They're usually always available for preorder for weeks. These LEs they make are nice but nothing special imo. A lot of games they release, I'm never anxious to play Day one, so I usually skip the LEs and just wait for a price drop on the vanilla version
 
Does NIS America typically make their preorders show sold out and then back in stock or was that just from some cancelled orders on Ys Viii Limited Edition?

Before they got rid of their lower free shipping option, they used to relist at the exact same time with each release. Which was normally about 10 days in, and that would be cancelled, cc didn't clear, held for damages, etc. I could honestly refresh that day each time, and 1-5% would come up every time.

Now since their free shipping requires a higher up front order amount, they may be holding on to more units due to not sending orders for a good long time. I now combine orders, and it may take 6 months for all to become available, so if I get a damaged game 6 months after release, they need to have replacements for those long standing orders.

So they may still offer qty's after they sell out, but I haven't noticed any kind of pattern to it, as I just don't follow these releases as much as I used to. But I'm sure they still get cancellations, or denied CC, and those are probably the ones they offer up, but it just may be at random times. I've seen it recently for some games, but I haven't really noticed it for others, unless it's been posted here.

 
I just noticed D3 and Ys Viii both shows sold out until yesterday. Now they both show 0-5% remaining but still available.

Ys VIII never showed OOS for me? I was looking when trying to figure out what to buy with Demon Gaze 2 for free shipping for weeks.

It's also a really popular series even for a niche franchise. I'm gonna guess it sells out due to people actually loving the series and wanting to play and collect the LE, and not just hoping it goes up in price in the future.

 
I can't believe they still make those Neptunia games. Just an abomination and one of the crappiest series I ever wasted time playing.

And if that offended a fan of the series, then good, you deserve it for having such horrible taste in video games!

What is the MSRP of the metroid legacy edition? I noticed it was in stock this morning on Amazon DE, saw the 99 euro price tag and sort of hesitated. Seemed higher than I expected. Then it sold out 😩

If Im seeing what you are seeing, that is the Secret of Mana collection. It was releaesd only in Japan and contains all 3 Seikun Densetsu games (1 is known as Final Fantasy Gaiden, 2 is known as Secret of Mana, and 3 was never officially released here)

Just managed to score a Metroid Legacy from amazon.de. I almost got it this past weekend but when I had made it to the last page it told me they didn't ship to the US. Checked randomly on my phone just now and it was in stock and let me check out with no issues. :D

Same thing happened to me a few days ago. Had it in my cart and was checking that it wasn't sold through some 3rd party and the price, then it sold out on me when I was finally ready to go through with checkout.

Luckily I got in on it like 20 mins ago on pure luck. Even downloaded a webpage monitor app and after it was set up, ran it once to make sure it was working. Said there was a change and I sped through checkout this time.

Actually, Amazon JP has their own account. Every other Amazon is tied to one.

Different passwords, different address books, etc.

Germany doesn't seem interested in delivering any more Legacy editions to the US. I keep trying to add to cart and when I get to check out it gives me the no US deliveries line. 1 click ordering won't even go through. Bummer.

Went ahead and ordered a Metroid Legacy Edition from Amazon Germany even though it says on the product page that it doesn't ship to the U.S.. Hopefully it ships even though knowing Amazon's packing, it most likely will be damaged having to travel such a far distance.
 
I have missed it every time today. I got close, I was able to add to cart once but it said sold or when I went to final checkout.
