FAQ:
  • What is this thread? A massive collection of limited edition games & other attributing items, included with links.
  • Why put it all in one thread? More traffic due to collaborating interests.
  • Why is that important? This keeps the thread popular and doesn't risk a failed CE from falling through the cracks unnoticed.
  • What can be discussed here? Anything relevant to what is posted.
  • Why make another CE compilation? Karma.
  • Where are the big pictures? Still here, scroll down. Due to the increased number of CEs, a preface post is needed.
  • When is the Final Fantasy XVI CE? Not announced. Granted, IF it does, you can bet I will devote an entire page to it.
  • What about other CEs that have been announced? Give me a minute. It takes a bit of time to format the title, price, date, & retailer links in correctly.
  • What about the Book/Steelbook/Console/Misc. Picture Posts? I condensed the thread. Not necessary to include pictures for all those items. They will still be included in the Everything List post.

I can't get past like 2 enemies in that game... playing that makes me wonder how people played some NES games. And I don't think that's even considered a "hard" NES game, is it?

No I don't think so. People are against it because it's side scrolling vs Zelda 1/3.

Releases 10/1 for $99.99

I've been waiting for a price drop on the Switch CE. May just grab PS5 version instead since it's my main platform.

I was about to link the NES championship on one of my Discords so people could order it. Then I remembered that these guys are all like 28-33 years olds and have no memory and zero nostalgia for the original NES. like they won't even touch the stuff.

It's really weird when you get in conversations with people whom are super fervent about Final Fantasy, how it's their favorite GOAT, best series ever, you talk about the games a lot, and only later do you find out that they started with FFX or FF7 and they have no concept of the stuff which came before it.

Guys that age don't do traditional jrpgs. They certainly have no interest or patience in the NES platforming, side-scrolling era of gaming. The latter of which makes complete sense, really.

This set is literally aimed at people only 35-40+. Or dependent on how old your hand-me-down gaming systems were. Younger millennials have basically no concept of Atari or NES. They don't go back to "revisit" the 16bit era of gaming. It doesn't exist for them.

I don't like that there's no steelbook in Ubisoft's Gold Editions anymore. That statue looks pretty cool though. That price, yeah, is ridiculous. Hopefully they make a ton and these drop like a rock.

IMO everything but the price looks nice. A cancel is easier than a missed FOMO ebay run though, so I'm in for now.

For those of you preordering at Target, are you seeing the SB mentioned anywhere in your cart or the order status once order is placed?

Best Buy stopped most steelbooks. They don't do physical movies at all. Walmart and Amazon are the place to go for movie steelbooks now, and Target got Star Wars Outlaws as a pre-order bonus.
Does target do that thing where if you get a game w/ bonus steelbook then return the game you can keep the steel for $10. I'd do that for the star wars steel. Loved that move at best buy

The Dark Souls compendium is (currently) OOP again.

The last one went to $500. You have been warned.

Ah shit... I had this pre-ordered during the original run and then cancelled. I pre-ordered it during the 25th anniversary reprint and again cancelled. And then I had it sitting in "saved for later" part of cart. Oh well, guess I'll wait for the 50th anniversary reprint.

They used to actually package the game inside the steelbook back when Target last had exclusive steelbooks. Since they don't even list it as a separate entry on the online order, it's possible you could do this, but they may also be getting it shipped in some kind of bundle like Walmart has done straight from the distributor in which case the relevant barcode is on the outer wrapping and not on the game itself.

GameStop be getting exclusives huh. didn't like them having Undisputed wbc edition. I'll wait till there's some kind of b2g1 from target then pre order AC

Just got charged for the Erdtree CE... completely forgot I even preordered it. Ugh... this feels like it's headed for the Namco discount bin like 90% of their CEs.

$170 for this one.

$400 for this one.

Pc only for both editions. No regular physical copy for Ps5 and Xbox is delayed. I'm going to wait for reviews. Even if they are good, I am going to wait a long time before buying it.

Am I the only who can’t check out on bandainamco store lol. I keep getting errors whenever I try to get a PS5 CE. Happened with naruto now with sparking smh

hah you have Adyen to thank for that, for some stupid reason the new payment processor EXTREMELY nitpicking with your name/address when it comes to validating you and your payment. I almost lost out on Armored Core and Gundam Breaker 4 because of this dumb shit. Clearing cache/cookie, changing browser and/or go into incognito won't fix it, only fix is retype your info until the website accept it.

I’ll try that, thank you. It’s a huge headache

No game included = no buy. I probably wouldn't have interest in the CE for this particular game anyway, but that applies to all games. Have to draw the line somewhere. Or please stop calling them collector's editions and just call them box of goodies, because that's what they are. Not even including digital copies of a game in your CE is about as lame as it gets.

Heads up: for The War Within physical pre-orders, Blizz is handing out beta codes sometime around the 12th. I was pretty pissed when there was no plans for the CE I bought, but all is redeemed.

Not all bad, you can just buy the game down the line when it hits bargain bin.
