FAQ's:

What if the price isn't accurate in store? Ask them to scan the title anyway and/or check the master game sales list online as my prices ARE accurate.

What if the in store game has no for sale sticker? Sorry. Chances are it isn't for sale because we usually leave a few for rent, but it doesn't hurt to ask an employee just in case.

Why doesn't the online price reflect your price? Although Family Video and FamilyVideo.com are the same thing and prices *usually* should match, there are times when they do not or might be sold out. Sorry.

Do games come with manuals/boxes? All games should come with the original artwork/case, but sometimes rental customers don't return manuals, so it's about 50/50.

What if I buy a game that doesn't work? All games are guaranteed to be in working condition. We clean all games before selling them. You can even replace games in the store that were purchased online! People have told me that the e-commerce site is also very helpful with returns/replacements.

What if my store is not offering the specials listed, is this YMMV? No, this is not YMMV. Unless the store is down to its last few copies of a game, it should be available for sale. If they refuse to sell it to you for the price listed and/or you have recurring problems with a store, please check out this link to help both you and our company to improve.
https://www.familyvideo.com/contact.php#q17

What do the numbers next to the titles mean? The numbers represent how many copies of an item a B&M store will protect for rental only. For example, if you see 4 copies on the shelf for rent and my listing has a (3) beside it, 1 should be available for sale. Listings with a (5) means that there will be at least 5 kept for rent, but if the title is renting well the remaining copies may or may not be for sale. At this point, please ask a staff member for assistance.

Moar drops.

Had some additional stores FINALLY fall in line and mark down all PS3/360 games to $5.99. They also marked all Wii U and 3DS games to $9.99 (Excluding Mario, Zelda, etc.).

So here's how I fared:

Game & Wario $9.99
Wii Sports Club $9.99

Was going to pick up Bayonetta but they wanted $10 each for 1 and 2. No thanks, that should be considered one package. There are a few other things I may consider, but nothing I have to get. Still, those two pickups alone are pretty damn good.

Also, I found Shadow of the Tomb Raider PS4 for $12.99! Obviously YMMV since another store still had it at $29.99.
Lol, they must have mixed up Shadow of the Tomb Raider with Rise of the Tomb Raider!

Been stopping by a few of my local family video's. Not all of them have updated pricing but most xbox 360 and PS3 games are now 5.99 each.

Handful of wii u games are on sale for 9.99 -  picked up game and wario, Wii U Sports Club, and black ops II.

3ds games are going on sale as well  for 9.99 each - picked up Terraria, Mario gold world tour, and professor layton and the azran legacy.

Also saw a decent amount of Kirby Zelda Mario and pokemon titles they had for sale depending on how your store decides what to sell.

My family video was advertising buy two get one free videogames sale. I just picked up kingdom hearts 3, red dead 2, and resident evil 2, for $60. the games were $29.99 each, which already wasn't bad.

Really good deal. I bought Metro Exodus (I think PS4 is the only version on sale now) and Anthem on both PS4 and Xbox One. Traded both Anthem’s into GameStop towards Days gone and got a little over $46 in credit towards it. Was going to buy Days Gone anyways, so I essentially got Metro Exodus for about $17 after tax.

The manager of my local stores FINALLY dropped all the last gen stuff. Sadly what would have been a fortune in PS3 and 360 GameStop flips six months ago is now not worth the hassle, but my two year dream finally came true - Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for $5.99 (honestly closer to $3.99 when you factor in the B2G1 deal). I could have cried.

All the really good Wii titles disappeared from local stores before they started going up for sale (2-3 years ago). I figure it was an employee snaring them before they were labeled.

Huge props, seriously. Family Video is so inconsistent that getting their good titles often feels like a Sisyphean task. Glad you finally snagged Radiant Dawn.

I am hoping my store drops Anthem today. I will partake in the deal if they do. I did pick up a copy of Sea of Thieves I was able to trade to someone for a sealed copy of RDR2 (Sea of Thieves was $19.99 s ol that was a great buy)

Man this is a crazy good deal with some of these new release games with the B2G1 sale.  Picked up  RE 2, Anthem, and Kingdom Hearts 3 for $60.

u got a good deal my store doesnt have any good deals like that
Yeah it's just up to the store. I am in the same boat where the game selection at my family video is pretty bad. The only PS4/xbox one stuff for sale is sports games and ME Andromeda. They had a good selection of wii/ps3/360 titles but I bought a lot of the best ones last time there was a b2g1 so nowadays it's pretty dry.

Really great selection of Wii U games though for $10 a pop, makes me wish I actually had one.

My local Family Video stores just won't let go of their games and when they do it's always something that's been much cheaper elsewhere for a new copy. I've had my eye on Game and Wario and a few other harder to find Wii U games, but they just won't sell em' to me!

It actually kinda confuses me. I go into mine on a regular enough basis that I know the guy who runs it pretty well and he told me that they'll only sell the games when they aren't rented very often anymore. Which is just really crazy to me because I honestlydon't think anyone is renting that copy of Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii anymore. In fact I've never seen a single Wii game actually rented when I am in there but he won't budge on that stuff.

I thought it was a miracle when I got Mario Galaxy 2 for 7 bucks.

They tell me the same thing and I always tell them to look at their records when the last time any of those games were rented out and they then admit that they never get rented, but they still can't sell them to me yet for whatever reason.

Finally was able to take advantage of this sale! One of my store made the mistake of pricing Anthem at $19.99 so I grabbed that, Just Cause 4 and Hitman 2 on PS4 for a total of $42.xx after tax. Took Hitman and Just Cause to a local game store (Disc Traders) and got $52 in store credit which will just about pay off MK11 on Switch at the end of the month. So essentially I got MK11 and Anthem for $40. Woot!

I wish I could find some of the deals others have in this thread. Hell, I tried to buy one of the TWO copies of Kirby Return to Dreamland for the Wii and was denied for no reason other than the woman who is there ALL the time is a stingy weirdo.

Ended up getting Catherine and Vanquish for BC on my Xbox One X and then a third game free to trade in at Gamestop for the trade boost. $12 wasn't too bad.

Hey now, Family Video is generous! My local locations are happy to part with Wii classics like "The Ant Bully," "Boogie" and "Wing Island" for only eight dollars a pop. /s

Family Video leaves me conflicted, man. On one hand, I love that a movie rental chain is still chugging along... but on the other hand, why did it have to be this one? >_>

I lean toward a positive outlook on FV, though, since they boost Marco's Pizza. Love that place.

One FV here had no signs up for the buy 2 get 1 sale. It didn't really matter because the only games they had marked for sale are the same ones they have been trying to sell for almost a year.

The other FV here was a completely different story. They had signs for the sale on the doors and tons of games marked for sale. All PS3 and 360 games are $5.99 and they had tons of PS4 and XB1 games for $9.99. I picked up with B2G1:

Outlast Trinity PS4
Gran Turismo Sport
Street Fighter 30th Ann PS4
Sniper Elite 4 PS4
Kingdom Come Deliverance PS4
WWE 2K19 PS4
Lego Movie 2 PS4
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 XB1
Attack on Titan XB1
Cars 3 XB1
NCAA Football 14 360

A few will probably go to Gamestop with the impending SB and 20% MK11 bonus.

^^^  This has to be a mistake, the game isn't even a month old so how do they know how well it will rent so early?  Still, excellent find.

It's official; the local Family Video is closing.  I hadn't been in in about 2-3 weeks, swung by tonight and they were closed.  Sign said "Closing sale. open 12-8".

I knew they were in trouble when the Marco's Pizza next door closed a few months ago.  If they're open tomorrow I'll let you know what kind of prices they have.

Looks like all the Indianapolis area Family Video stores finally closed.  The store locator shows 0 stores.

About a year ago, I think there were still 5 or 6 in business, as I would hit them up for sales.

Are you willing to mention which location is closing?

I don't think the store is closing, but particular location seems to want to clear out the Xbox 360 section with almost every title priced at 2/$3. I cleared out a lot of the titles at the store. Worth checking out your local store to see what deals may be had. They also had a number of first part 3ds, wii, and wii u games for $5 or $10.

Looks like the one I go to is closing as well. Went in today and the lady could not officially say they're going out of business, apparently, but she said today is the last day you were able to rent games/movies.

But more importantly for this thread, basically all X1/PS4 games are $7.99 a pop or $21 for 3. Only exceptions were the more popular games, Spider-Man, HZD, Sekiro were all $20. PS3/360 games and most Wii, Wii U, 3DS games were $5 (some first party games were $7.99)

Picked up Nioh, DQ11, and Attack on Titan for $21 myself. Probably going to go back in a few days as she said games will get even cheaper as well.

Damn. Where are you located? (Obviously nothing exact.) Curious if it's a regional thing.

Thankfully I decided to go back to my store today, because, they officially started their going out of business sale this morning. The $20 games (stuff like RE2, Spider-Man, DMC5, KH3, HZD, etc.) are now 2 for $25, while the games that were 3 for $21 are now 2 for $11. The $5 games are also now 2 for $8 iirc, didn't buy any of those though.

Picked up Spider-Man, Sekiro, Tekken 7, and Shadow of War for $36 plus tax, pretty happy with that overall.

Sekiro alone is worth 36

The store in my town is closing also. Most games are $6. I bought a few games, and will go back in a few weeks to see if they drop them further.

Several nearby stores closed recently. I missed the boat on their closing sales, but I was able to hit five different locations while on the road over the weekend. While they are not closing for now, they nonetheless had many additional 360, PS3, Wii U and 3DS games on sale. One store was even selling quite a few Switch games for $30 apiece! (This included good first-party titles.)

Of the five locations, one was still doing the classic Family Video move of protecting any non-shovelware titles like Gollum protects HIS PRECIOUS, but the other four stores were surprisingly forthcoming with the good shit. Some of my better finds included:

-Wii Sports Club (Wii U) - $4.99
-Tomodachi Life (3DS) - $4.99
-Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (360) - $4.99
-Alice: Madness Returns (360) - $4.99
-Paper Mario Color Splash (Wii U) - $9.99
-Kirby: Planet Robobot (3DS) - $9.99

Pricing and availability are extremely YMMV, naturally, but I'm glad I hit these stores. It can be tedious waiting for FV to part with good games, but it's so satisfying when they finally do.

Yeah my store never budged until quite literally the end. Only PS4 games that were ever available to buy were old sports games and big name bombs. ME: Andromeda being the one that always came to mind. It sat on the shelf with a $10 price tag until their going out of business sale started where someone finally got it lol.

Anyhow, I went back to mine and ended up getting a couple more games with the 2 for $11: AC Black Flag and Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Pretty much the only games left I wanted for the current prices. Will go back later on though as they said once they get closer to the final closing date they will probably make everything even cheaper just to get rid of it. It's very slim pickings now but there are still some games I'd pick up if they were only a couple of bucks.

Check again on your local family videos, a couple of them closed without me knowing.
Yep, I had an awesome one but it moved to a much smaller space so I don't think it'll be around much longer. That's what happened to the other place that did the same thing.
