Official Magic Mike Disscussion thread *spoilers*

Murderstorm

CAGiversary!
To discuss the biggest movie of the summer magic mike! It was incredible the amazing story of a male stripper with a heart of gold. Who do you think was the ultimate lady killer? Will you be picking up the official magic mike playset later this month?

Rules of the magic mike movie if you are a guy..
1.If your lady forces you to go with her to see this movie......you do not talk about this movie to ANYONE.
2.If you have a smartphone USE IT DURING THE MOVIE.
3.Feel free to report the bitches in the front row recording all the stripper scenes because they know they are too young to enter a real stripper bar.
4.Feel free to fart or burp around others.
5.After this movie, go see TED !

Wow really ITDEFX?! I hope that was a joke.

I was trying to decide between "Ted" and "Magic Mike" at the time and saw "Ted". I wish I saw "Magic Mike". While there are definitely some laughs in there most of the best parts were in the trailer. The gay jokes scattered throughout were really juvenile, pathetic and bordered on Homophobia if just plain went there. I don't remember "Family Guy" ever going there much, if at all. What the fuck is McFarlane's issue? He covering for himself?
Oh and this is just on an off note. I swear a lady and her bf brought some 8 or at best 10 year olds in the theater. Who the fuck brings young kids into any movie like "Ted"?! Jeez.

Oh and by the way, this movie is by Soderbergh so if you're "dragged" to see it don't be surprised if it actually turns out to be good. That being said, coming from someone who saw the "GFE" with Sasha Gray it was kinda dry and boring as hell. He did do "Traffic" though and some others like "Che".

3.That's even IF the movie has full frontal. After all, "Showgirls" ended up rated NC-17.

If I'm ever forced into this choice, I just spit in my captor's face and dare him to shoot me. Maybe I hit him with a mom joke that really stings so he'll put more than one round in me.

Meh, I've seen "The Avengers" and "Brave". I wanted to see "Magic Mike" after hearing some of the excitement about it. The only other movie I can think of seeing is "Men In Black 3". I want to see "Amazing Spiderman" in 3D but the way Peter Parker is doesn't exactly thrill me and I feel I'd be overpaying, even at the good deal I'd be getting in theaters. This said, I'd just as soon rent it.
Most have said that "Promethius" is a giant steaming turd and while I like some of Katy Perry's music I don't like her fucking attitude. To paraphrase she said this guy didn't want to date her in HS so he must have been Gay. Yeah so fuck buying something to put money in her pocket, never mind the fact I don't think "California Girls" provides good imagery or lyrics for my nieces.
Now I'm just waiting for "Total Recall" and "Dread", whenever they come out. :whistle2:(

I already posted my review in the movie thread, but might as well post it here since it's the official discussion thread.

So. I saw Magic Mike last night. I'm not going to lie. It was enjoyable. Me and my friends(women) I went with only could find seats in the front. My biggest fear was gigantic penises flying at me. And you know what? There's not even a single penis in the movie. Guess what bewbs are shown on screen more than any actual penis. You see one, but it's blurred out while a guy is using a penis pump.

But other than that. It was quite enjoyable. It was more like a basic movie with stripping lightly sprinkled throughout. It wasn't bad at all. And holy shit I could not stop laughing at this one scene: Show Spoiler there's a scene where the one guy is passed out on the floor in his own vomit from taking too much ecstasy the night before and his druggie gf's pet PIGLETTE. YES PIGLETTE. SUPER CUTE. is trying to grab a milk bottle and running around in a

circle. I could not stop laughing my ing asshole off at this scene. It's a serious one too.

I have to say. That ing pig made the movie. LOL.

Not even really a spoiler but still. Anywhoozle. The movie ended on such a dark and depressing note I was so taken off gaurd. Haha. Anyways. Magic Mike was enjoyable.

Anybody else feel like the movie was kind of fucked up in where it all ended. Yes it had a heart warming moment at the end, but everything else seemed to end up really fucked up. Actually really depressing the more I think about it.

Yeah its pretty good, according to this straight, married male. It's directed by Steven Soderbergh so that ought to clue you in that it's not just going to be a 90 minute Chippendale routine. It is quite a dark/somber piece that isn't fully represented by the ads, I'd describe it as Boogie Nights meets Staying Alive if that means anything to you. Matthew McConaughey is fucking hilarious in this, and Olivia Munn gets her tits out if that's the incentive you need.
There's actually not a whole lot of stripping. Four scenes, IIRC.

Hearing the review it almost sounds like the life of the average Gay Porn star from what I've heard, on the ecstasy bit.

Jeez when are "Dread" and "Total Recall" coming already?

My wife described it as a lot like Boogie Nights. I just figured it was a trap to get me to see it.
I thought the acting and the writing was pretty poor
It's not amazing by any means. I think the surprise of it being "good" is because it was marketed as cock in your face entertainment. But it was a basic movie really. But i agree the acting wasn't that fantastic.

Bummer.

I was curious to see if you'd respond DoK.

All this being said I'm sure "Magic Mike" is better then "The Girlfriend Experience".
The Girlfriend Experience was terrible.

Almost felt ripped off even though I watched it for free on Amazon Prime.
I bought the Blu-ray after hearing how great Sasha Grey was in it. On the other hand she was good in "Entourage".
