Just starting a thread for deals for the Playstation VR.

I picked up the Core bundle off Amazon and I'm looking for a cheap camera and move controllers.

I found that best buy has some cheap playstation 4 cameras on sale for 39.99 with free shipping.

If you all know any good deals for move controllers or launch games, let me know.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS VR) $15.99 via Amazon (Prime Price). https://www.amazon.c...heapassgam08-20

I'm getting a lot of tracking issues with my PS VR.  Main issue is when playing Batman, as I'll be standing still and stationary objects are moving back and forth at me.  It's very jarring to say the least.  When the PS VR works, it is absolutely amazing.  But too many tracking issues have me thinking I'll finish off Batman and return the thing next week.

Until Daw: Rush of Blood is a lot of fun too with the dual move controllers. It gave me a sort of "woah" moment when I held them up to shoot. It also has some nice cheap scares but they're enjoyable. Totally disagree with those low scores it's been getting.
Cant wait to get a second move controller to try that. It felt awesome even with the Dualshock 4's movement.

I do hope Owlchemy brings Rick and Morty simulator to PSVR. Great listening to them do the car talk radio in Job Simulator's auto mechanic.

I just moved my camera from below my 60 inch Tv on the stand to balancing at the top of my Tv. The tracking is improved immensely now. Job simulator went from a jerky mess to tracking almost 1 for 1. I'm 6'3 though. I'm wondering how it'll work out for my shorter family members or for me while I'm sitting down.

I have my camera sitting on the base of my TV stand right infront of my TV. The head level seems perfectly aligned for me to play while sitting on my bed

I've heard if you do a full shutdown and boot, instead of rest mode, it fixes it. Have you tried that?

I ran into this issue as well. It's like the entire screen magnifies a bit and then returns to normal. I think it has to do with any external light sources the camera picks up. I also ran into issues where the picture turns black and white -- when I turned my head completely opposite.

As for general VR discussion, I can't even play Batman for longer than 30 minutes before getting a headache. It has to do with movement of your VR avatar relative to yourself -- vertical or horizontal, however small it's noticeable. It's cumulative effect really wears on you.

The VR stuff that I am fine with are the bits where you are stationary and just examining things. It really makes you wonder how developers are going to design the killer-app VR games, as there doesn't seem to be many ways to go about it. You'll have the stationary bits, the rhythm games, the on-rails, flight games, etc.

Edit:

BTW, it doesn't seem that Amazon or BB has trade-in value for Batman VR yet, but GS does. It's at $8.80 for Pro. Even if you bought it with GCU at 20%, it'd still be ~$8 for a 1-2 hour experience.

Has anyone tried PSVR while drunk or high?     Does it make the experience worse or better at all?

Also, is there any VR porn?

I always fully turn off my PS4 and never put it into rest mode as I don't like wasting any more electricity than I have to.
I've tried the camera on top of the TV and below the TV. At first I thought it was due to ambient light, as my room is pretty bright during the day. So, I played last night with all the lights turned off. Same issues sadly. Like I said, when it works, its one of the most immersive gaming experiences I've ever had. But when you want to look around, things start moving back and forth while I'm just standing there, and as someone else mentioned, many times the screen would turn black and white. I'd pause the game, try and recalibrate things, and resume, and it just would go back to that.

I can play for about 30 minutes before I finally need to take things off. It's weird because I didn't have any of this happen when doing the BB demo, but at home I can't seem to get that sweet spot. I've got more than enough room in front of my TV, so it's not a distance issue.

The other issue I've noticed with my headset is that when the screen is supposed to be black, I can see light bleeding in on the left side from the LED. It's a non issue when images are on the screen, but during the opening of Batman when the screen is blank and you hear someone's voice, it's like the left half of the screen is lit up and the right half is blank. I suspect the exterior LED light is just bleeding through the headset. For me, this is not such a big issue and if the tracking were working right, I wouldn't even care about this and keep it. But, given I'm having so many tracking issues, I'll need to give Best Buy some legitimate reasons for me to return it.

I'll keep trying to mess with things for the next week to see if I can get things to stabilize, but I've done all the various set up procedures and still no luck. I've been so excited about this and I love it when I'm playing, but I can't justify spending so much money where I get such intermittent enjoyment out of it. Thanks all who posted suggestions on here. I'll keep trying and keep you posted.

Not sure, but I imagine VR while drinking alcohol is a bad combination. Drinking is already a bad combination with everything so I can't imagine this would change in VR. Cannabis would no doubt be a positive addition to an already immersive experience. As for VR porn, I think its widely accepted that porn is damaging to any intimate relationship you might have........VR porn would probably just continue that destructive path, but in a more creepy way.

Seems a bit like a blanketed statement. Sure if you are ADDICTED to porn that's one thing, but I don't see how a little porn on your own, or even as a couple is damaging to the relationship. Hell, it can spice things up for sure. It's just like any other thing. You need to understand what it is, and what you need out of it. That's like saying video games turn people into killers.

I gotta say the ps vr has impressed me. I never got to try any VR before and went ahead and bought the launch bundle on hype. Its pretty insane. Reading about it is one thing but using it is totally different experience.

perhaps you are correct. In my opinion however, a relationship that seeks outside sexual influence could have a higher than normal rate of instability. Hasn't porn been linked to brain changes and negative effects on a persons relationships? I'm sure you can look up the variety of studies that confirm this. I'm going to ignore the video game/killer link.......as a gamer I am offended:)

I'm with you. Super impressed. The visuals don't bother me at all and are totally acceptable. Kitchen was amazing and I can't wait for the Resident Evil 7. So much potential.......

I had some whiskey last night and played around with it and didn't notice anything weird. I did get a headache on the side of my head and major temple pain. Not sure if the visor was digging into my head or the booze had some effect.

Sounds like you've been brainwashed by the fat cats in the pornography industry.

Anyone know which VR game requires the move controller? Or can they technically all be played via the Dualshock?

This may or may not be helpful, but I've played a handful of games that tell me I can play without move controllers but it isn't the intended experience. Harmonix Music VR has modes that are only playable with move controllers.

OK then, is there still anywhere to find a good deal on move controllers.

Didn't know Rez used the Move controller, might have to go give it another try. It seems kinda boring with the Dualshock.

The only tracking issue I had, and I'm not even sure it's a tracking issue, was with Tumble. Almost everywhere I moved the Dualshock, it turn red and say something about being out of bounds or something like that. I was interested in the game but If it's gonna be hard to play, I might pass on it.

Whoever mentioned BB points, thanks. I checked and had $45 worth of points, so I'll use those towards some games. I got Batman for $1.06 after a $15 Cert. I'm gonna hold off on others until I can try some more demos. I'm thinking Until Dawn and Here They Lie. I thought Until Dawn was pretty kool and Here They Lie is digital, can you even use Certs on digital codes at BB? Want to make sure there's nothing else I'd rather pick up.

Off Topic Kinda: I've been seeing more and more digital codes on the BB site, looks like they even give you the bonus Certs if you preorder them. I wonder if they'll offer GCU on digital codes soon? That could be fucking amazing. As someone with two ps4s, I prefer digital, but GCU has held me at physical games mostly.

Edit: maybe I missed it? Is there a way to control menus and system menus with the move controllers? I'm also taking the headset off to grab to switch between Dualshock and double move.

About week ago I bought a pair of them off of eBay for $31. They're might still be some old listings for people's old controllers at lower prices. I believe Amazon had a couple listings for new controllers at 27-35ish each a couple days ago as well. Might want to check those.

I found a reddit thread that discussed your question. Apparently Job Simulator is the only game that explicitly requires them.

I will say they are well worth it though. Sony rereleased them for $100 for a pair, which is laughable. On Amazon they are $20-$30 basically. You can try ebay for cheaper.

These things were bargain binned and clearanced for so low. I bought move and all it's accessories and several games for less than what the controllers cost now. Glad I hung on to them at least

Check walmart for the old move controllers on clearance... Ours had them for $15 each. They also had the move navigator for $10, but I'm not sure if psvr is going to use them.

Just picked up star wars battlefront for the ps4 from red box for 8.99 plus tax.  it comes in a cd style case no box art or manual.  Dics had no scratches on it.     You can search there online webiste for a box location that might have it.

Are you suggesting to give Jesus a wank instead? Not sure if that's why he died for...

Btw, does anyone know how to raise the volume of the headphones? The headphones get comfortably high volume but never that extra push of volume I would like. It seems to be maxed out in the settings and inside the game's settings. [emoji848]

About $49 short of having enough credit for the launch bundle.   Those that have it, is it worth spending actual cash or no?

I did the same thing a few days ago. Inot all it now... the update download and install took forever. I wish they'd have a deep discount price on the season pass.

Yeah it did. I am excited for that so called free tie fighter demo. I know Ea is kinda kicking themselves because I know they want to make some money off of it. It is even in the promo trailers. I had it for the xbox 1 and wanted to get it before any shenanigans.

I think it's great. It doesn't replace your gaming experiences, you need to treat it as a supplement. If your money is that tight though, I would advise against it.

Okay, so for everyone who has played it for a couple days now... what's the consensus? Worth it?
Now that I've finished reorganizing the room that it's in and tweaking the camera's position to properly tracked the controllers and headset, I'm having a wonderful time with it. I feel like the true value of this thing though will be showing it off to friends and family. $400 is a lot of money. I think I will be able to get my money's worth, but I simply couldn't describe this thing as a must buy at its launch price.
