Just starting a thread for deals for the Playstation VR.

I picked up the Core bundle off Amazon and I'm looking for a cheap camera and move controllers.

I found that best buy has some cheap playstation 4 cameras on sale for 39.99 with free shipping.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-playstation-camera-for-playstation-4-black/8245153.p?skuId=8245153

If you all know any good deals for move controllers or launch games, let me know.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS VR) $15.99 via Amazon (Prime Price). https://www.amazon.c...heapassgam08-20

Is anyone else experiencing headache after playing with VR?

After my Hour 1/2 - 2 hour session last night, I got a headache and my eyes were irritated, i couldnt sleep all night due to it.

Which game were you playing? I only get that from Eve Valkyrie. So far no other vr game i tried does that.

Best Buy Deal is very good if you do it right and part of GCU:

PSVR 357.13

Move 89.28

camera 53.56

---not a big deal yet, but games are where you get the benefit--

Batman VR 7.99

Until Dawn 7.99

Bound VR 9.99 digital

Tumble VR 0.00 (9.99 but free after discount)

tax and local pickup
What deal? I don't do the GCU.

The games might not bother you but VR isn't intended to be used for hours at a time yet. Build up your tolerance. How often do you stay focused on one point while wearing a headset, you know? Didn't the 3DS suggest taking breaks?

Frisky posted in the PSN thread about Pixel Gear, PSVR game, that's on sale for $8.79 for PS+ members and was curious if anyone has tried it and their feedback on it?

I'm an idiot, it literally just came out today.

I might as well buy it and give it a go then.

same thing I'm experiencing, but time spent isn't so much a factor than motion

I tried that playroom VR - I did the claw game one and that was fine, but then I did another one where you have to travel and collect these little guys and got headaches right away. this sh- aint for me. same for rigs and battlezone. once you get the dizziness, it ruins the other experiences until you can reset yourself. it doesn't help that the rubber smell is extremely off-putting. I tried to clean it with soap+water to get rid of it.

VR doesn't induce vomiting for me, but I get mad headaches and messes with my head like it's spinning. only thing to do is to lay down

I wonder if I will eventually get used to it, I bought vr in hopes of getting the best resident evil 7 experience (loved the kitchen demo I played at comic con), but if I cant play the full game when it comes out for more than an hour at a time due to getting headaches, thats going to suck bigtime. :/

VR motion sickness is a real thing. I got it with my first google cardboard experience and it lasted into the next day. If you feel nauseated, STOP immediately and wait an hour.

Well, picked up the Best Buy deal today. It listed the items out on the receipt like this:

PSVR Core- $357.13

2 pack Move controllers- $89.28

New Playstation 4 Camera- $53.56

Bound VR- $9.99

Tumble VR- $0.00

Nebulous VR- $4.99

Sports Bar VR- $9.99

Vev Viva VR- $0.00

Batman:VR- $7.99

Until Dawn VR- $7.99

They had just gotten the launch bundles in stock, but I think this deal was a bit better. I also think I'm going to try returning the move controller pack (I already have 2 of them) and hope it doesn't revert the discount due to how its itemized. That would make this a truly smoking deal.

So I have a question with that BestBuy deal. I'm on the verge of purchasing it, but one thing is stopping me, I already have two move controllers. What would happen if I tried to return just the controllers in that deal? Would it make everything else go back up to full price? I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to do this because I don't have the camera.
I'm in the same boat, although I should probably make sure my move controllers still work after all this time.

Let me know how that goes for you as I might also do the same thing.

Are the move controllers necessary for most game? I already have the camera and would consider doing this and returning both the camera and the move controllers if possible. Seems like a good way to start...

Batman VR and Job Simulator require move controllers. Rez and Until Dawn can be used with Move or Dualshock 4. Rigs, Driveclub, Eve, and Battlezone are all Dualshock 4. Not sure about Playstation Worlds.

I just did battlezone for an extended period last night.

I had no motion sickness, but I didn't realize that the random seed dictated the difficulty! Hard is a lot tougher than I thought it would be, really requiring the upgrades. Figuring out the actual goal of each objective can be tough, until you know what the target goals look like.

I think it needed a tutorial mission going through each different objevtive, but I had a blast with it last night!

I agree, I played it for the first time the other night. A tutorial mission would be a lot of help. I do think the game is really good and had a blast with it. I was going to play it some last night but Rigs took up all my time lol.

If the store you are going to has been updated to the latest POS system, it will require you to return everything or you will lose all the bundle discount, which would effectively make it so you got nearly nothing back for that return

Don't know if this has been said since I didn't want to trudge through all this PS4 vs. PS4Pro argurment but there's a Best Buy promo: Buy the PlayStation VR, PlayStation camera, and the PS Move motion controllers below and save $60. Plus, save $10 on each game you select from the list below. (Stacks with GCU)

Why isn't this link working for me? I'm on my phone fyi.

Finally played Batman Arkham VR. Wow, was that amazing. I did not want it to end.

Experienced some drift in it but was able to reset it.
The game I experience the most drift with is Rush of Blood. It's almost unplayable as for some reason I can never get the screen to reset. All other games will reset but not this one.

Really hope someone can nail down what causes the drift because everything I've tried hasn't worked.

I may have to ditch Rigs if comfort controls doesn't work. After a 30 minute session I'm a bit of a wreck. No other game have done that to me. It's partly my fault because I try to play through it. I'm probably good 20 minutes then start feeling motion sickness. If it persists and I have to ditch it I'll give whoever may want the game a pretty great deal as I got it quite cheap. Kinda sucks because it's quite a great game and easily the most fully featured one I have for VR.

Played some more of Job Simulator today, still enjoying it. Messed with the video games for 10 minutes or so, the quality seems really bad. It could just be due to streaming. Batman will be here tomorrow, and I'm still considering Until Dawn. Maybe I'll get some vr games from the upcoming Target Buy2Get1.

Also for those interested. On this week's episode of PS I Love You, they talked about porn being available. So if you're interested, look it up. It uses a flash drive and the media player.
When is this Target sale?

Finally got to sit down and play some vr for a decent amount of time. Tried cinema mode and the corner fuzziness can be annoying. Tried eve and it didn't make me sick but do feel tired and a little drained from it. Will see how I feel come morning. Game itself isn't too bad but not worth $60 and glad I got it at the $20 price. Do have a little headache from the session. I'll have to probably do shorter time sessions in the future.

For those that bought a PSVR and plan on keeping it, please report back in 3-6 months.  Will you still have it and using it on a regular basis?

Interesting, but I don't believe that's an official Sony website, so that doesn't really confirm much. If multiple retailers are selling it for $39.99, that seems to indicate that it's the MSRP.
Someone who works for them said on reddit (I think they were legit not but 100 percent) that the MSRP was $60. I personally think that if it's only 3-5 hours that seems sort of steep. Additionally, if it was a misprice, the retailers would have fixed it by now.

I've been playing quite a bit since launch and I'm tapering off to more casual play. I see it like this:

-there's enough decent stuff coming that I have purchases throughout the rest of the year and into Q1 2017 (Golem, Psychonauts, Farpoint, Robinson, etc.)

-There will likely be a couple of smaller interesting things announced and released between now and next E3.

-At E3 there will be a couple of big titles to show VR's support with some being available immediately.

-By end of 2017 if there's nothing in the pipe of value I'll ditch my set for a 100-150 dollar loss as a twelve month rental and get out before there's a clear date and price on a successor.

I play VR every day and it'll likely be around 2 days a week as I don't have the time or energy to devote to it because it requires more effort than traditional gaming. This still puts it in luxury product category for me so I'd tell most people (who are traditional gamers) that they should hold off unless they really enjoy VR because one thing I'd also say is that the experiences it provides continue to impress. If you can get over the inherent issues of resolution I think that VR is going to be the next big category of gaming.

Maybe it's just me, but I suspect you'll take a larger loss than $150 if you sell it in a year.

Most likely the PS VR will see a price reduction by this time next year. Additionally, a year of use on an item that is hugged up on your face the entire time you're using it....it may not hold a resale value as high as a normal piece of electronics. I'd be hesitant about buying a second hand VR set anyway. We'll see what kind of second hand market there is for VR. I'm definitely curious.

I love my PS VR when it works, but unfortunately between the drift issue and some flaky tracking at times, I just don't love it enough to justify spending so much money on it. I'll be returning mine to BB tomorrow. Sony really did a great job with this thing, but hoping their next iteration doesn't rely on a standard camera for tracking and they can move to something with more precision.

Anyone who has a PS VR though, I cannot recommend Batman enough. I've played through it twice and can easily play through it several more times. Rocksteady just nailed the VR experience.

There is obviously a second hand market for EVERYTHING. The Vive is a good indication that people aren't afraid to buy second hand VR headsets and the PS VR is a lot easier to keep "clean."

Everytime I think of taking my vr back for my money back at best buy, the more I think about having the launch bundle and how.much ill have to spend to get all the add ons needed separately.

The thing is, if he plans on selling it in a year if there's nothing good coming out for it there's 2 things to take into account: other owners will have the same mentality dramatically increasing the supply of used units and new buyers won't want to jump on board if there's no new games on the horizon so the demand will dramatically decrease as well.

Time will tell obviously but if we do hit a point a year from now where there's very few or no new games planned for PS VR I'm betting you'll see used units going for the $150-200 range not $250-300. Even more so if Sony themselves starts getting skiddish in 6 months when sales slow down and they drop the price.

Just seeing how much the hype has died down in a little over a week is certainly worrying. I mean many people in this thread are already talking about plans to sell it and/or have returned it. Combine that with Sony's track record of dropping anything that doesn't hit it big I'm just not so sure anymore.

I'm planning on returning my PSVR or selling it if I can't return it.  It's cool tech, but I don't look forward to using it.  I never feel great after using it.  Kids aren't clamoring to play it again either.  My youngest kid giggles when using it, but he quiets down soon enough.  He won't exactly say it but I don't think it makes him feel good either.    My oldest kid has his room in the basement where the VR is and it's Paper Mario or Battlefield 1 with his gaming time.   My wife did the Ocean demo and thought it was cool and freaked out a bit at the sight of the shark.  But that doesn't mean she's been breaking down doors to go try it again.

With all the work Sony did to make the experience fairly straight forward, it's still annoying compared to just playing a regular videogame.  Just the act like of throwing on a headset is annoying.  All the cables are annoying.  It's annoying to switch between Move controllers and the DualShock4 with the headset on.  The load times have been pretty bad.  The demos all  get by on the novelty of the tech.  And there's alot of little glitches and blurry text etc.

I can totally see VR taking over some time in the future.  I don't get the feeling that that future is coming anytime soon.

I was skeptical to begin with and wasn't going to buy in in the first place, but I wanted to experience it for myself in my home where I could fiddle around with it a bit.  And I'm more skeptical while also being more impressed with the tech or the potential of it.

But even 3d on the 3ds wears enough on the eyes of enough customers that there is an off switch for it.  My kids never play with the 3d on.  It's annoying to them.  And as much as I like the 3d on the 3ds,  I sort of force myself to use it and my eyes thank me when I turn it off.  I feel refreshed when it is off.    Same sorta thing with PSVR but times 10 and there is no off switch while playing.

I think the future is closer than you think it is. What Sony was able to achieve with PS4 and some 6 year old Move controllers is absolutely outstanding IMO. It's not perfect and I never expected it to be. Like you though, the experience just isn't quite at the level I would want it to be for $500. But, I have no doubts the price and the experience will improve by the time PS5 comes out. The question is whether Sony will want to be investing in the tech by the time PS5 comes out.

We have a minimum of 3 players in the VR market so I don't think software is going to dry up that fast. I don't know how development compares, whether indies and smaller devs can keep it alive like they've done with the Vita.

I use it here and there, of course I have plenty else to play. I don't even have any retail games yet, just the demo and Playroom. The drift issue is minor and only seems to be in cinematic mode for me. I realize this is like going to a theme park where you want to take breaks in between. It's too much to go for hours at a time unless you have a tolerance for it. So I'm going to stick with it.

As for secondhand sales I think the face shield is removable, and therefore replaceable.

How would you know the future is closer than I think it is when I never said how close I think it is? :)

The biggest question to me is can they make VR as relaxing as gaming on a 2d screen.

You could've just tried the demos instead of buying it. Knowing the game type of play your family does it is clear VR is not for you. The idea of VR is not suppose feel the same as standard gaming but a different experience. The amount of money that is being put into VR it is here to stay. But considering the way it effects you and your family, clearly VR is not for you.

Had mine for a week today.  I haven't even played London Heist yet because I've been too busy playing Danger Ball.   I also have Batman still sealed - I just haven't gotten to it yet.

I will definitely get my money's worth out of it because I use it in moderation (to avoid the possibility of motion sickness) and I'm of the opinion that even if I choose to play the same 3 games over and over and over, then my purchase was worth it.

Also, a quick note to CAGs.  My psn was hacked and the guy made his ps4 my primary ps4.  Since posting that I would play eve with other cags (a few days back), a bunch of people were added to my friends list.  The thing is I'm not sure if they are cags who responded about eve or people that the hacker added as my friends.

I haven't played it much at all this week. I'd return it but then all the games I bought with the PSN cash back deal wouldn't be playable.

Contact PlayStation support and they can remove the ps4 from your account. Then you can change your password and readd your ps4. I'd also recommend two factor
