Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Grabbed an Xbox 360 Logitech Harmony remote for $37 a little higher than most people have been paying for it, but its the only one I could find.

have you ever tried to find someone in Sears who holds the correct key to unlock an item to have the price checked? Didn't think so.

my no, it's sooo much easier to go home, sign on to CAG and ask about a price at your particular store...lol ... u r kidding, yes? Take a couple minutes and find someone to scan it for you...what will you spend on gas and time to return to the store?

You do know that if a local Kmart of yours has one of the 20gb HDDs, it's probably cheaper than trying to find it @ Sears, right?

And yeah, I can definitely relate to what others have said about not being able to find someone to open the case up @ Sears to PC stuff. Plus, my local Sears is WAYYYYYY behind the curve on price drops, since the Samurai Jack game for PS2 which is listed as $3.97 in the OP is still $40 here. :whistle2:#

Other than that, there's not much I really want or need, but I'd like to try the game. I just don't wanna have to pay full price for it.

no he wouldn't, especially now more than ever since it's the holidays, they have people roaming everywhere, especially in electronics trying to make sales for commission

if the person didn't have the key it'd take at the most a whole five minutes for the manager to find his way there and unlock something for him

Every single SEARS I've been in is the way I've described. At last count, I believe it was over 30.

30 stores that are all the same way. 3 is a trend, what's 30?

Proof that when Sears and Kmart did their merger or whatever that they took the low quality customer service for some departments like you find in Kmart routinely.
 
I work at sears and will admit if a store is understaffed that employees tend to stray away from the video games. Personally I can ring someone out for a video game quite fast and we actually make commission on every thing in video games now some are small and some are large but its always hard during christmas (our store is staffed pretty well though)

I'm going to see if I can get the monthly markdowns in video games so it'll make everyone's job here a little easier

I was at the Antioch Mall location in KC price matching a couple copies of MM for the 360 (for trade in at BB) and I saw several of the Harmony remotes and a copy of EBA in the glass case for anyone that's interested.

the other guy is bsing or doesnt know that.

they claim things like video games sell themselves. and btw i found a shit load of clearanced games in the stock room and got ape escape 3 for $3.60 after my discount hehe
 
So I will ask this again. To those capable of getting extra Harmony remotes would anyone be willing to part with/pick up one at cost plus shipping. There really is no need to have more than one and you people are picking up like 3-6. To those willing to help out a CAG please PM.

For those who didn't get any - best I can do is try to get a Circuit City, Walmart, or Best Buy to pricematch or something. I scanned my receipts from Sears & when I pricematched at CC, then posted it on SD. I know of 2 people who were successful to use my receipts - one was even out of state

Buddy don't want to make you feel stupid but look at the commission report for division 58 (it was the new commission reports that went live back in september). You make even a small amount selling systems and games. I'm not going to post the percents cause that's confidential and I'm not risking my job for that. I'm looking at my electronics documents right now and have several ps3's on there that I made money selling. We used to make nothing on games and systems but that changed in the fall

You sure its not off of warranties or something. When I worked at EB/GS, we only get commission if we sell it with the warranty. That is where the store makes money. Stores hardly make money off of consoles why you think they bundle useless accessories and games. They get accessories and games for say $30 and sell for $50.

no in sears you make base $6, then whatever commission you sell. but techically some things i sold which were games came up as 0% commission. so im gonna guess it depends on if its a newer game or something.

seriously thought, they never asked me if i knew anything about eletronics which is messed up because i could be a moron which is just lieing to the customer.

and the video games is in the eletronics deparment and doesnt have people just for video games. its a general knowledge job. just know general knowledge of crap and your fine.

of course ive noticed many people come in to sears thinking that sears is the only place that sells video games. tards if u ask me when theres a game store outside of the store

I just upped an existing account live account with one of these cards last week, and it worked perfectly for me.
 
I go into work today so I'll try and get a copy of November and December clearance prices for division 58 (video games I mean). I'll try to get January as soon as they are up.

Yea I realize we don't make much on the systems but they started paying us for systems and games back in september (like I said its a real small amount). We got a report back in the summer that Sears was going to try and get back some of the marketshare they lost in gaming so maybe that has something to do with it. Might be a start to train most of the employees on what video games are....

I am going to go to sears in like 30 minutes during lunch... will see about getting harmony remote/xbl subscription/monster madness pricematch. For all those craving a harmony remote I will post again in about 2 hrs. if I am able to get one.

Sorry, no dice on the harmony remote, also no discount xbl subscriptions. However I did get the pricematch on monster madness and get this: I got 2 for 3.79 each. Interesting trip and a fairly helpful if not so knowledgable sales associate; he checked in the back for the harmony and xbl subscriptions but did not find any. Also had fun with the pricematch. He looked at the CC ad I had and then walked up to the register, scanned the game and responded Damn!(it sells for 50 normally at sears) Then he called over a manager to approve the pm and they were both pretty google-eyed telling me what a great deal, I made out like a bandit, etc. He wanted to keep the ad after I checked out. I might have to start shopping more at Sears.

In your previous post you accuse us all of hoarding the remotes, then you want us to go out and do the leg work for you, and finally you tell me to mind my own business about a post you put on a PUBLIC FORUM...you are a piece of work.

Print the receipt scans she gave you. Go to BB, CC, and Walmart and try to price match in the morning. Get a good story...like my brother in NY bought this remote at Sears and I would like to pricematch, I have a copy of his receipt, I'd rather buy it here with my BB credit card, blah blah blah. If you get shot down, return in the evening when the night shift is in for three more tries. Repeat the next day with different workers, etc. This is less about store price matching policy and more to do with you getting lucky with the CSR you get at any one time. I got it price matched in VA with a receipt from IN and the CSR didn't even check to see if the SKU numbers matched. Other times you can't even get some stores to honor their own freakin print ads. It all comes down to luck and leg work...and it seems like you want us to do your leg work for you. Good luck finding a remote.

PS The Spotsylvania Towne Centre Sears in Fredericksburg, VA had one remote and two 20 GB HD left as of last week if you feel like a little drive, but wait, you probably want me to drive there for you.

OK. Let me get on a plane from Denver to Dulles, better yet Richmond, and drive the 1 1/2 hours to Fredericksburg to get a remote that most of you can get better than I can. I have traveled to all of the Sears within a 20 mile radius and of course no luck. I was asking for a little help seeing as most of the people that have been claiming to get lucky are buying out the stock, whether to sell on "FleaBay" or use as trading fodder when there have been enough requests from people also asking for a little help. I don't have the gall to take a scan of a receipt to a store and ask for a pricematch. So if there is anyone out there that would like to help out Fellow CAG(s), I would help cover cost + shipping/paypal fees.

bagged the last $10 XBOX1 Live 12month Kit (w/ pouch) at Rego Park, NY store.

Was returning my 2 amazon.com $40 Call of Duty 4 to Circuit City (to save a mere 7 dollars of tax) stopped by Sears and got it! wasn't such a wasteful trip after all!


the guy was nice. striked up a conversation with him since he almost sold a Simpsons PS3 game while the woman was buying a silver PS2 (lady ended up not buying game but i told him when he was checking my XBOX LIVE kit at the register) . he was like thanks. then said wow you got a good deal here!!!

well the amount of commission is the same on video games as every thing else except for those newer 1080p tvs.

its a way to get us to sell the new stuff, yet the commission should really be raised for everything.

1 percent isnt cutting it for a $1700 tv. on black friday i only made $300 for working 5 am to 11pm

today i was passing (went out for circuit city) by and thought, why not? and got lucky :applause:

it was in the XBOX 360 glass case, near the vision cameras, one left displayed clearly inside.

maybe they had one left somewhere and decided to bring this one out to display too

I did put the receipts up so others can use it to pricematch to be truthful, as MANY people on Slickdeals & CAG have been asking for these remotes. I can't pricematch for one person and not get for others plus I doubt I will be going anywhere near the mall areas until after New Years to be truthful due to a) final exams & b) traffic and too many people.

The two I bought were for my boyfriend and I, so that's all I needed to get and that was it.

I should mention for laughs I received a mysterious credit from that CC I bought the remote from on the 14th....for some reason they refunded my remote purchase amount even though the remote wasn't returned? So confused!

About the Xbox starter kits....are these all original xbox ones or are they the 360 ones too?

I also tried to price match Monster Madness today but ran into 4 *wonderful* employees who misinterpeted the ad so many times in so many different ways!
Oh! This is an obvious mistake! Games can't possibly be this cheap!
Oh! The games aren't $7.99! They're 80% off!
Oh! That 7.99 price point probably had their decimal point in the wrong place!
Oh! You have to buy one of the games listed above at regular price to get them at $7.99!

Finally, one of them said just check the website to see if it's $7.99. They did just that but when the guy came back he said that since they (Circuit City) originally sell it for $39.99 and Sears sells it for $49.99, the best they can do was PM to $39.99 and an additional 10% discount. I was pretty much brain dead at this point, put up a couple of weak protests that were denied, thanked them and left.

I have no reason to set foot in this store outside of clearances..

Thanks for the heads up! I picked up the Harmony remote tonight, 1 left still it looks like. Also grabbed EBA for 8.97 and Eragon on 360 for 5.97. Sears in Metcalf Mall was a total bomb, nothing good from my skimming.

Damn that sucks, i work at sears also and i remember when they changed the commission, it was cool, because we were all trying to sell the main televisions. but it does suck that i could sell a $2000 tv and only get basically change, plus i dont think they ever updated the main list, well we never got an updated list, so most of us are still hoping it stayed the same, if not then we playing roulette whenever we sell a tv. the pay is cool and i love when i find games on clearance, i picked up xbl arcade for $3.97 which was cool because it comes with a free month of xbl. i'll try to update prices for people on this board.
