Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

I had something similar happen to me at a Target a while back. Some young guy was trying to charge me full price for a 360 HD-DVD drive, when it was scanning for the clearance price of $50. I called in the manager and got it for the price it was scanning for. The employee probably got fired for that, but I couldn't tell for sure. Always call in a manager whenever that happens..

You won't be able to do that. There should be a sticker UPC on the bundle and you won't be able to return any part of the item without that UPC. I'm willing to bet the UPC for Counter Force itself may not even be in their system (I've never seen it for sale by itself at Sears). Besides, that would be return fraud ;)

I scanned Lair at a Sears recently and it was $59.99. I guess that's why there were 4 of them still sitting in the glass case...
 
Found Eternal Sonara for $4.97 today. Noticed a copy of Shadowrun in the same bin with the clearence stuff with a faded pink sticker (looked like $29.99 was on it); wasn't interested enough to get it scanned to see if it was a clearence item...

Same thing happened to me recently with Lair... this wouldn't happen to be the Granite Run Sears in PA, would it?

i can confirm that lair (ps3) is $6.97 by the sears around my house.

i remember self scanning it because it was one of the games that wasn't $4.97

There are very few reasons it would need to be RTV'd (returned to vendor), such as if something to the effect of, "There is a problem with this item. Send to RTV," showed up on the screen (or recalled like LBP, or it's not supposed to be on the floor before a certain date), but I can say with certainty that game won't need to be sent back until about a month from now, and that's only if it's on its final markdown or doesn't get sold before then.

SO, next time someone tries to tell any of you that, make them show you that the price didn't show up on the screen. Even then, they are supposed to sell it to you at the last strickered price if no price appears in the system when it is scanned. It's your call whether or not to pay that price, 'cause it may not be what you want, but they can still sell it. No store wants these games to be RTV'd and take a loss, but there is a point where they have to send them back if they aren't bought.

Hope this prevents problems for some of you in the future.
 
Anyone from New Jersey been to the Sears in New Port Mall? I am going tomorrow and would like to know if a fellow CAG has been there and turned up empty/ or grabbed everything. ^_^

It's your call whether or not to pay that price, 'cause it may not be what you want, but they can still sell it. No store wants these games to be RTV'd and take a loss, but there is a point where they have to send them back if they aren't bought.

happened to me twice already, but when they called corporate (at my behest; talk about good customer service), they said the item was RTVed. The manager was more than happy to try and sell it to me.
 
I used the price scanner and several of the games I thought were on clearance were the same retail price...is it possible that there will be a difference if they ring it up at the register as opposed to just using the price scanner?

They (POS and price scanner) should be the same.... Sears clearance is YMMV.

Went to the two closest to me and all of the "clearance" bins had items ending with a 9. I guess they're not doing it there :( I don't want to venture further to be disappointed and out of gas. I really wanted Eternal Sonata and to see what else they had too...
 
Checked my local sears for lair and fear (they used to have them) and they were fresh out.

Ugh I'm having awful CAG luck recently.
 
I have sealed copy Dynasty Warriors Gundam (PS3), Eternal Sonata (360) and Crush (PSP). I looking for sealed "Battalion Wars 2 (Wii). One for 1 Trade :)

Wow, this is a great topic. I didn't know that Sears even sold games!

I went to both stores here in south bend, IN today. Not much for games, did get NHL 08 ps2 for $5.00 and a Final Fantasy VI for $10, but the best thing was that one of the stores that I went to had 80GB Ipod Classics on Clearance as well. The silver ones were $99 and the black ones were $129. I bought the silver one and a JBL ipod dock for about $140 total. The store had one silver one and three black ones left when i left today. This was at the sears essentials store on Ireland Rd in south bend, IN if anybody close wants one.

There were some other games for the 360, PS3, PS2, PSP and Wii real cheap as well, so I left those behind for other CAGers in the LV area .. but I am looking for another Tenchu Z (for a friend of mines), Armored Core 3, and Dynasty Warriors : Gundam; so if anyone can help with any of them I can paypal u for em.

I got lucky and got the one copy of Singstar I bought price adjusted down to the $1.97 price after having bought it from the same store the prior month for $9.97.

But another local CAG tried price adjusting just recently and was shot down, so it is highly YMMV.

Yeah, there have been isolated reports of this for different titles. For example, Lair scanned for $59.99 for me recently at one Sears.
 
Was at Sears today and over heard some associates talking about more price drops later this month. Any employees here who can verify? Some more PS3 love would be great!

Found absolutely nothing but a copy of Splinter Cell Double Agent for 360 for 9.97 that I passed on and a couple of GBA games for .97 cents that I got-- the generic GBA Holiday 07 sticker.
 
Was able to pick up Def Jam Icon in Canton. Sadly all their mercury revolutions were $14.99.
This is what they had left:

... and I will confirm as soon as I can. The drops usually show up within a week and a half of when they're scheduled, so any info I can give will definitely be closer to the end of the month. It's rare to have two drops in a month, especially february, but I believe the business month at sears is four weeks, not necessarily the whole month, so It may happen very late February or very early March.

Short answer: I'll keep you posted when possible (although I may be getting a job for a competitor soon, which would make it a little more difficult).

I need to check on those iPods. I forgot until I read this thread that those are on a heavy clearance.
 
The other thing that seems strange is the huge amount of drops in price this month. Def Jam Icon was tagged $24.97 with a January sticker on it, so a $20 drop in 1 month seems like a lot plus all the $14.97 games going to $4.97 especially when there are some games that are still the same price months later. I scanned some GBA board game compilation that said $9.97 November and it still was $9.97.

And to add to the YMMV pricing, I saw BW2 on Wii with a $19.97 FEB sticker. I thought it had to be a mistake since all other stores had it for $19.97 last month. It scanned for $19.97.
 
The .97 GBA games are out of the system over here at my Sears, I was able to get one to a scanner and it just came up out of system. It was a crappy game but I would have bought it had it rang up for .97. I figured my chances of getting the girl at the register to believe me about the price was slim to none.

There are also a bunch of GBA games here for 1.97 - James Pond Code Robocod comes to mind here, and its not a bad pickup for 2$ (but I already have the DS version).

Most of the good stuff was wiped out, I was really glad I picked up that Final Fantasy VI while I had the chance at 19.99.

OT

The clothing department has some really good deals right now, make sure you scan everything. The pricing here is really weird. I found a pair of jeans with a 29.99 JAN tag that rang up for 10.19. They had a 40% extra sign on them so it should have been 40% off 29.99, which is not 10.19. I also found another pair of pants that had a 11.99 NOV tag on them, but those rang up for around $7.19 which is about right with the 40% extra off, despite the older tag. Does anyone know when clothing drops happen?

The Lands Ends coats were also an extra 50% off on top of the already discounted price, making them like 20-35$. This is an incredible deal if you are in need of a coat. However only one store had this pricing, and the other store did not, and yes we checked at the scanner in both stores.
 
Weird how some stores have them out of the system and other stores don't. Also that they didn't drop to $0.74, $0.47 or $0.25 like the XBox games did.

I had the price checked for the PS3 version of Oblivion GOTY and it came up out of the system, and they said they had to sent the game back.

That's so weird because I was at a store that had BW2 with the $19.97 sticker but it rang up $4.97, and a copy of Turok for PS3 marked $29.99 rang up $19.97 instead of the $4.97 that's been reported.

Does anyone know if BW2 was a January markdown? Maybe Turok is a February and that store has not adjusted their prices.

Battalion Wars 2 rang up $19.97 at one store that already did the FEB markdowns. It was $4.97 at another store I visited though.

Oblivion (non-GOTY, with a red GH sticker along the top of the case) was marked at $14.97 today with a FEB pink sticker. I can't remember if that had been mentioned or not.
