Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

got lucky last night finding lair ps3 for $6.97. found it funny since I was just at a kmart which had the game but was $59.99 there lol.

Its pretty much cleaned out at this point but I'm wondering if it will get re-stocked as different titles go on clearance through the year or is this just left over holiday stuff?
 
My sear's is pretty cleaned out by me and another CAG I know of, but I was able with one last trip while going to border's next to it, I found scurge hive for 97 cents.

As I've been saying all along, it looks like a rehash of Ultimate Destruction from last gen with toned down graphics. It'd be worth a purchase at $5, but $14 is pushing it, though I DID pick up UD last gen at FULL price and thoroughly enjoyed it(even though I couldn't use the Hulk's power to annihilate the city with).

Last copies of each. The store did have one copy of Battalion Wars 2 (Wii) for $4.97, and several copies of Splinter Cell DA (X360) for $9.97, but I'm hoping for another drop. When do they traditionally happen?

In addition to that, I hit the Sears in Peabody, MA. They had several copies of Def Jam Icon and Pirates of the Caribbean for X360. Didn't price check Pirates because it was still in the glass, but DJI did ring up at $4.97. I did get two copies of FEAR for PS3 for $4.97 each. I left two more copies for other CAGers, so I hope y'all can make it out there!

Secondspin.com is your friend. They are part of the Transworld Entertainment chain(same company as FYE) and they have a trade in value lookup tool on their site.

It isn't always 100% accurate, but it's been right or close on many items that I've considered trading into FYE before, including but not limited to TV DVD boxsets.

Gamestop also does CASH trades, but they deduct 20% of the value right off the top and Blockbuster has an option in their system to do cash trades but most stores WON'T do it.

I tried to buy a burnout revenge one time there and the clerk/supervisor told me he couldn't sell it to me and told me the most bs reasons why not,also he went to the back to "check" with his manager:roll:. So I went back right before closing and bought it from a different employee lol, even was told how it was an amazing deal.
that sears is alright but now the horde might be coming to it.

the trick with buying those out of the system games is to buy them along with super cheap games. you also need to be extra nice to the clerk. its hard but keep trying :)

New price drops should be hitting the system on March 6th. I can't say for sure what items will be dropping, particularly because there's not much to even scan at my store at this point (it's been snatched up by a bunch of older women who are probably taking it across the street to one of those "sell-my-shit-on-eBay" stores).

I'll throw you guys a bone on anything noteworthy I find, but it won't be as easy as just scanning whatever my store has on the floor.

That's about all the heads-up I can give.

... side-note: has anyone seen Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds cheaper than 59.99 new anywhere? Anywhere?! (PM me... just curious)

Actually, it was only $10 when CC had that $10 sale on all clearance games $19.96 and under. It's regular price is $19.96, so now, if your CC has any, it will be $10.

Target also has it on the clearance schedule - I picked one up from there for $14.98 about a month ago.
 
Same for Kings Plaza, Brooklyn Sears. Finding any game with a clearance label on it is just about impossible since they pretty much don't have price labels on any of their games. Trying to get a pricecheck on a game, I inquired one of their salespeople who told me to hold on while she tries to find a key to the glass case they keep their games in and pretty much forgets about it a moment later.
 
Sears in peabody MA had a few games. I got battalian wars for wii and also 2 copies of def jam icon for xbox 360. There was still 3 battalian wars left and 1 def jam left. All for 4.97!!! I couldn't find fear for ps3 though. Oh well I'm happy with what I got. Oh also they had 1 copy of NASCAR 08 for 14.97 (X360)
 
I had a big stack of new games to scan and see if there were any new drops, but the price scanner was out of order and the same guy who scans my stuff all the time was the only one there. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing his complaining.
 
Clothes are down in price this week with an extra 40% off clothing, the prices were the same as they were 2 weeks ago.

Completely OT but there seems to be a huge surplus of clothing in both my Sears and many other retail stores in my area. I have found more pairs of decent-quality jeans for 10$ or less than I can use, at one store I encountered racks of 6$ jeans. I know stores mark up clothing a lot but these were 90% off as they cost around 60$ each. It hasn't been this way before because before jeans were impossible to find under 20$. I have never seen this much clothing stores that just isn't selling.

Either there's ALOT of people who went nudist out there or people just aren't buying ANYTHING due to this economy. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Even with the clothes being so cheap, I have more than enough clothes for now, so that's probably the main reason most other people aren't picking stuff up, even at 90% off.
 
We've bought a crapload of clothes from Sears for our 2 year old. Sometimes we get whole outfits for $2-$3 which is awesome considering how quickly he will outgrow all of his stuff.

Here's hoping there will be some quality titles on the March markdown list. One of the stores near me emptied a ton of stuff out of their glass cases. There's some newer titles still marked and scanning for $29.99 that I would love to see drop to $15 or less.

People are likely digging in their closet and finding out that they own more clothes than they actually know about, thus they are not buying any to save money. So they are wearing what they have. For adults, clothes last a long time provided you don't change sizes, you really don't need to buy new ones very often out of the actual need for clothing as in its falling apart and I need some clothes because I don't have anything in the closet that is wearable. Extra clothing is just a luxury that we have all become accustomed to.

The only time clothes really accumulate here is when the yard sales start and we start bringing home 25 cent items and some of them do not fit, so they usually get donated or given away eventually. I don't mind hoarding 1 or 2 pairs of 6$ jeans. I do tend to wear through jeans eventually, although it does take a long time, and its nice to have a couple pairs in the reserve for when you need them instead of having to run out and buy an overpriced pair because your old pair wore out and you can't wear them anymore. There was a time when I only kept 2 pairs of jeans and I did just fine, so it feels a little bit excessive now that I have around 5 pairs of jeans due to sales and only having to pay $3-6 per pair.
 
Planet Puzzle League scanned at $19.99 for me. It's not a clearance price so it's just a general drop. Going to wait for it to go on clearance.
 
I went to sears today and they had all the games stuffed in the glass case and I had the Old Lady that was in that department open it up and check some of the prices on the old games. The all came up MSRP Crackdown $30, Elder Scrolls 4 $30. Shadowrun $30. I hope I motivated her clearance the case out.

If anything, you probably just annoyed her, even though opening the case so people can check out stuff that's locked away IS part of her job.

But if you've been to Kmart, then you understand the mentality of the workers who are in electronics. They act like they're doing you a favor by doing their job.
 
The Sony-made PS3 Optical Cable will be $9.97 on the next drop date if anyone needs an optical cable for cheap. The Sony HDMI/Mini-USB combo will be $24.97 (MSRP $79.99), and the HDMI in that pack is 10-foot. I've been looking for a name-brand cable for a while now, so to get a 10-foot for $25 seems like a decent deal to me. Don't really wanna wait another month to see if they'll get another drop.

Have you guys seen Scene It!: LCA (w/ controllers) for cheap at Sears? I thought I kept reading that it was spotted for $4.97, but it's still on the website for $39.99. When I put that stock number in the computer, it rang up $24.97. We don't have any in my store, but I was just curious if the people who'd seen it at that price (if they had) saw it with or without the controllers. Regardless, I was surprised to see all of this discrepancy over the game, especially when the website still has 'em regular price.

I already own the game, so it doesn't matter, but I was just curious. I would have bought them at $4.97 if I could have found them. Now I'm rambling...

[off-topic] Does anyone get slapped in the face as often as I do by MS when they do price drops on XBLA games because you already own it? Or maybe you just bought Braid last week, and now it's 400 MS Points cheaper...

I have one guy (fairly young) at my kmart who goes through every row of games in the locked case when I ask him. I earned his loyalty because back when the hd-dvd drives were $12 (the second to last price drop if I recall correctly) I asked him to scan them for me. He told me it'd be $69.99 but he would do it anyway. When it scanned at $12, he was shocked and immediately said he was buying one. Since then, he has willingly done things for me. As far as my sears goes, they put most of the clearance stuff in one of 3 places in the electronics section so it's not locked up. That said, my store had no price scanner (literally not one) until about a week ago. The funny thing is that they installed it right near the exit (on the other side of the store from the electronics section) so if you take stuff to it, it looks like you're about to make a getaway. lol

I bought a copy of Scene It w/ controllers for the GF back in Dec. for 14.97 and recently found it at another sears for 4.97 and picked it up for myself. Scene It is probably one of the largest YMMV games on the list in my opinion. I've also scanned the UPC out of curiosity at a 3rd sears and it rang up 24.97, so huge YMMV.

I'm pretty sure the website's prices will always be different from the actual store clearance prices. As a side note, always make sure to actually get the item scanned because the Scene It I found for 4.97 was hanging in the case marked 59.99.
 
i bought Scene It! LCA bundle for $4.97 2 months ago i think? yeah its been on clearance since last year. they started out at $24.99 then worked its way down. good buy for 5 bucks if you could find it.
