Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.

List

  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:

  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

attention all cags / n00bs:

DO NOT TALK ABOUT:
-Trading
-Selling/Reselling

DO NOT BEG AND FOR CHRIST SAKE, DO NOT CALL SEARS AND ASK FOR CLEARANCE.

Talk, ask, about your deals and report your finds. If youre from SD or FW and wants to post this list or any other list from CAG just so you can have your 15 minutes of fame, all we can say is FU.

Please trade your games in this thread from now on. if youre looking for any particular game, head over there as well. its stickied so it'll be easier to locate.

POSTING OR REPORTING YOUR FINDS :

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT SEARS, LIKE MANY RETAILERS, USES 2 DIFFERENT PRICE STRATEGIES TO DETERMINE IF AN ITEM IS ON FULL PRICE OR CLEARANCE.

WITH THAT SAID, HERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD REMEMBER WHEN POSTING YOUR FINDS:

Games that ends in - .97 = Clearance Price
Games that ends in - .99 = Retail

Evansville, IN Sears has Guitar Hero Aerosmith with wireless les paul for 24.97 for p3, 360, and ps2.
Also DBZ Burst Limit, Blacksite Area 51, iron man, Bourne Conspiracy , condemned 2 (9.97 ps3), and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway all for 360 for 14.97. For 9.97 I seen Transformers the game, shadowrun and Stanglehold for 360 for 9.97. I just grabbed Burst Limit to play with a friend online, didn't see any other deals I liked after looking the reviews for the few I did think about online.
Probably have about 30 different games on clearance for different systems. Surprised me because that Sears clearance tends to be like 2 games for 20% off.

There was only one Sandisk card left at my store, and it was in the bin with some games and cables of some sort which is why I saw it and bought it, I would imagine these are probably severely limited quantities as memory cards seem to sell out very quick at least around here when they are on sale which means you will likely have a hard time finding it at Sears stores. There were hardly any games left, just mainly Xbox 360 and a couple DS games. The card was regular priced at 7.99 according to the tag.

There were tons of iPod cases and accessories on sale, including some speaker sets that looked pretty good, so if you are in the market for any of that stuff Sears might be the place to go.

In other news, look out in the next couple weeks for clearance TVs. New ones are getting set now, so the old ones will be going down fast. Just don't buy the $249.99 Proscan, I've shit things that look nicer than that TVs picture.
:hot: I don't know whether to laugh or throw up my cheetos
Gamecube systems are down to $2.97? Wow, that is an amazing price. I thought the $19.97 I paid last year was a steal.
Even more amazing to me is that people are still finding these.

Yeah, they were impossible to find when they went down to $19.97. I had to go to 5 different Sears before I found 1 and that store only had 1 in stock.

wow. looks like i really need to go check out my sears already. ive been lazy with it as i know of 2 stores, but both are about 45 minutes away...in opposite directions........ so it takes a good 3 hours out of my day for each one

Seems sears has some really awesome games for cheap though, maybe it will be worth the drive
The $2.97 is just a price I made up, they were out of system.
That is awesome, I wish all employees did that on out of the system games. Most of the time they either refuse to sell the item or say the stickered price. Once an employee even said he couldn't sell me an out of the system DS AC adapter and put it back in the glass case. A few weeks later someone sold it to me for sticker price, $3.97.

Yoinked Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, and Civilization Revolution for 15, 10, and 15 respectively. I promptly returned CR once I realized I'd spent 43 bucks.

Thanks again!
As for the N64 system, it was a customer accommodation return. They purchased a 5 year PA and demanded we take it in store and offer them an exhange towards a Wii around Christmas. It's RTV-salvage but no one has dealt with it.
You know, I could use an extra N64 controller... extra wires.... an extra console.

I just got back from college, and of course, one of the first things I did was go to my local mall, where there happens to be a Sears. It's near impossible to get someone to open the cases for you and I was in a hurry, so I didn't really get to check out prices on current gen games.

However, they did have a few GameCube games on an open rack, almost all marked $0.97. Unfortunately, pretty much everything was worthless (e.g. Bratz) except the one copy of Viewtiful Joe 2 that I found. Best $1 I've ever spent!

So if you know of any Sears that still has GCN games, you may be able to pick some up for a buck each. All of the 97 cent games had a price tag with "GC, RPG" on them, FYI.

So if you buy a console at Sears and buy the 5 year warranty, is it possible to bring it back and get the next console, or do they not offer such a plan anymore? I don't even think I have seen N64's in stock in the past 5 years anywhere. Seems like this would be a worthwhile plan to consider if you can indeed use it to trade up in some way.

Looks like I found one that hasnt been added yet:

..date... | ... cp ... | .. opp .. |..game
051309 ... 04.97 ... 14.97 ... Singstar Rocks! bundle

That would be pretty funny to get the warranty and then trade up for the next next gen system to come out. However, judging by the fact that the PS3 and 360 either doubled or almost doubled the MSRP of a console in ONE fuckin' gen, be prepared to shell out OVER the amount of the 'trade' of the old console for said new console.
I believe PAs on systems are now 3 year max but not positive. It's a little YMMV but if it "breaks" and they no longer stock it you get a gift card for your original purchase price. A guy I work with said he buys his sports games with a one year PA then shakes his system so it scratches it and brings it in for the next years edition. Can't guarantee you won't get a hard ass but if you tell them you'll get a PA with the new one they probably will.
funny thing is they probally gave them a new game cause they know its the same game but with a new year just put over the label... look at any of the Ea games in the last 4 years and you will see its the SAME FREAKING GAME

I always buy the warrenty at best buy.. Right before the 2 years is up i take the system in and say something is wrong with it and get a new system.. Buy a new 2 year warrenty on it and repeat every 2 years... Never have to buy anotehr system... So far did this with 3 Ds systems

got a new one jan 2009
Got my 2nd one Feb 2007
Got my first one Jan 2005

so i have not paid for a ds system since 2005 (just the 30 buck warrenties))

Even right now i could take the 2009 system back since it has a bad left shoulder button but it play well enough until the warrenty is almost up : )

That doesn't work anymore, they changed their warranties back in September 08, I think.. so if you try bringing it back right now they'll send it off to be repaired and you'll get a refurbished unit instead of them exchanging it. The reason you were able to get a new one in Jan 09 is because you were using the old warranty.

If you want a true "warranty" purchase your consoles/handhelds at Costco. They have a lifetime return policy, so if you wanted to return your PS2 and buy a PS3, or an xbox 1 and buy a xbox 360 you could do it anytime you want as long as you're a member.

The Best Buy Product Replacement Plans come in REALLY handy, especially if there's a new revision of a game system that you want to try out or if you just want a newer one of whatever system you have and don't wanna pay retail for a new one and be stuck with the old one.

That worked out pretty well for a couple systems I had, including one of the earlier DRE prone PS2's.

For anyone that needs additional info about Best Buy's warranty change in September 08:

"During September 2008, partially in an effort to eliminate losses from customers who abused the old Product Replacement Plan (PRP), Best Buy changed their warranty system to the Geek Squad Black Tie Gadgets and Gizmos Protection Plan. One notable change under the Gadgets and Gizmo plan is the Xbox 360 exchange policy. Under this new system, Best Buy will not give customers who purchased the extended warranty a brand new Xbox 360 if their system fails after the first 30 days of purchase. Instead, the company sends the customer’s console to a refurbishing site, where a new system is assembled.

In addition, the Performance Service Plan (PSP) offered on bigger ticket items changed to Geek Squad Black Tie Protection which adds a new level of service. There is a standard level, which in most respects in the same as the old system and there is a new level, Premium, which adds extra services such as limited free telephone troubleshooting, Geek Squad anti-virus/spyware protection (multi-year), HDTV calibration, and preventative maintenance checks on major appliances. There is also a tie-in with the RewardZone program. If you end up never needing to redeem the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection (with the exception of the use of premium services) then you can get RewardZone points at plan expiration. Customers will need to file a written request to get those points however."

What I really meant is not necessarily trading up but getting back the full purchase price for the console in order to put the money towards the newer system (or a newer color, or for example upgrading from a PSP 2000 to a PSP 3000), so you would essentially be getting free use of a console for a couple years. This would be most useful with handheld's obviously and could save a lot of money for some people here if it was allowed by Sears (or another store), as every company seems to be content with releasing a new product every 10-12 months...

There is no costco near me but we do have a Sam's club. But no one seems to know what their official policy on returning electronics is, some people say its unlimited but my store advertises a 3 year warranty on electronics.

Back in the day (about 15 years ago) I used to return CD players and walkman's with service plans all the time, back then the service plans cost about 6-7$ and I would get a new walkman or CD player every year or so or when the old one broke, and they broke a lot. I remember one time I took back a CD player to target that I paid 50$ for and it broke after a couple months and since it was within 90 days I got the full purchase price of the item back no questions asked. I was only a pre-teen/teenager then but I knew how to work the system!
Yep, Best Buy as someone said above is catching on. I believe as off 09/2008 (maybe earlier?) they will only give you the purchase price back on a gift card if it cannot be repaired/repair exceeds the cost of the system.

Sears is starting to catch on, but policy is you'll get a credit for the original purchase price if first; the item cannot be repaired of they do not possess the technical capabilities to repair (which is the case with games and systems) and second; the same product is not currently in stock.

I say getting a game/system with the warranty with the idea that in a few years you'll exchange it for the new one is YMMV because you could get the jackass that shoots you down (though causing a scene or trying someone else could work, I don't know), and they could GAIN the technical ability to repair them by that time in which case you would not get your money back.
Well then, I guess I know where I'm NOT getting another system from, since I refuse to pay for something and not having the ability to just swap it out at store level when/if it gets messed up.

The PRP's were great back in the day though, since you got another system ON THE SPOT and didn't have to put up with being without a system for a loooong time while they tried to repair it.

It looks like I have another chain I can almost completely avoid now, aside from Gamestop.

Shame really, since paying $20 for a PS2 to be covered by a PRP was ALOT better than paying whatever the going MSRP was, though I ALWAYS made sure I used the PRP up just before it expired even if nothing was wrong.

So basically you want a store to allow you to exchange your system for a newer one just because your protection policy is expiring...

No. He's mainly talking about convenience. For comparison, Best Buy's old PRPs (Product Replacement Plan) allow(ed) you to exchange your 360 in-store, right then. BB's new PPP (Product Protection Plan) lets them to attempt to fix your 360, which may take weeks. Their new policy makes BB's extended warranty pointless on something like a 360, when you can take your chances and never need repair. If you do, you can send it to MS and get 60 day warranty (or is it 90 days from MS?) as opposed to getting some botched job by BB's outsourced repair.

Picked up:

:ps2: King of Fighters 2006 - $4.97
:ps3: Folklore - $9.97

I don't get how this Sears seems to be way behind on some items. Singstar Amped standalone was still ringing at $24.97, Cranium Kabooki for $9.97, and lots of others that are way lower at other stores are still high here.

Dsi never came out till april 2009...

got to wonder about if they can not be replaced..

meaning i have a White star wars PSP since they dont make them anymore how would they replace it with another one?

Same with the DS systems. I got have black system what they do not make anymore

I may let the Ds warrenty expire since i already got 3 systems for 1 price... Also i doubt they will give me a DSI when i try to return the Ds system in 2011 (though it will be interesting to see what happens if the DS lite is no longer made then)

right now

Star wars psp makes a hell of a noise when it loads and freezes a lot (no longer holds its charge --bat. issue) warrenty is up either this fall or next fall

Ds has a bad left shoulder button where the button does not work about every 10th time you hit it
warr. is up jan 2011

Well, I am not familiar with the Black Tie Replacement Plans since when I stopped working there was about the same time they started Black Tie, but if you have the old PRP or Product Replacement Plan for your DS, if the DS Lite is not around anymore and the only thing they have are DSi, what they will do for in store exchanges is swap out your DS Lite, put towards whatever the DS Lite is currently worth at the time, so if it dropped to let's say $100 in the system, you will get $100 towards the DSi and you pay the difference.

Now for most people they would be unwilling to take the hit for something like that, so theres two options. Bitch and moan to the manager that you paid for the PRP and you refuse to take less money for a plan you paid into to guarantee a working product and if not a replacement, and its not your fault they stopped making the DS Lite, but thats more YMMV.

The second option is if you are willing to wait you actually just call Best Buy up customer service line, get to the Product Replacement Line, and what Best Buy will actually let you do for people who rather just have the full value back on their product will be sent a Store Credit for the full value of what you paid for the system, but the whole process can take weeks and weeks, so it will be more of a wait, but in general it is the best way for you to get the full value back for your system and put it towards the next system without having them exchange it in store for the current lower price in the system.

But if option 1 works, then more power to you.

Now I am not sure how Black Tie Protection works now, so this is more for people who still have a Product Replacement Plan.

Someone posted a few pages back that if there is not a lot of an item, the store won't update the price on it. Sounds like that is what happened with Amped. Batallion Wars 2 is the same thing at my local Sears. It has been $19.97 since January and hasn't dropped even though most stores had it for $4.97 in February.

Cranium is $19.99 at my local Sears as well.

I think the Black Tie Protection warranty is a PSP (product service plan), not a PRP (product replacement plan). The only reason they would replace his ds lite with a new ds lite, or offer a refund is if they no longer offer any refurbished ds lites, or if it costs too much to repair. You're right though, if he still had the old product replacement plan they would be forced to refund him or replace it with a new ds lite.
What does all of this warranty discussion have to do with Sears clearance games?
See, each thread has it's own OT banter.

Target has hiding games.
K-mart has milk expiration dates.
Sears has warranties.

Do you understand now?

Same for me. That sears is also WAY behind on games like F1 for the PS3 and Dynasty Warriors. The odd part of it is that when I ask when they're doing they're monthly clearance markdowns they usually tell me they were just done a few days ago. I guess they're using discretion in marking things down.

PaRappa PSP $2.97. Controls are hard as funk tho in the PSP version for whatever reason (and this is just on normal. Easy was just that, easy.)

Went back by my closest Sears to pm RE:UC from Fry's (hoping for T2 Skynet BR, but they didn't have it yet) and check on a few things and noted more markdowns that are not in the OP yet.

One change on 360:
031309 ... 14.97 ... 24.97 ... Iron Man

And a few new adds:
360
Call of Juarez 9.97
Xbox 360 Live Vision Camera (only) 31.97
PS3
MLB 08 The Show 14.97
Wii
Gladiator Accessory Pack 4.97

Crap, there were some more, but they slipped my mind at the moment. They've got so many tags out I should just get it all on the cellphone.

For those Houstonians that are looking for the Warhawk bundle, I went to a few Sears at the mall locations and none of them had any copies left. Will get the exact locations to u so u don't have to waste ur time going. i just simply went to electronics to look cause i was in sears anyways.

Went to my local Sears last night and didnt see a video game in the store at all. Is this common at some stores? Looked all around the televisions and phone areas and didnt see anything. Would there be another area where they might have the games?

Some Sears stores don't carry video games. If you don't see any be sure to ask.
