Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Sounds like your store has a lot of YMMV pricing, Motorstorm and Project Gotham Racing 4 usually are $4.97, Super Swing Golf 2 was $9.97 in February, and the MSRP on Burnout Paradise is $19.99
 
Guess it's regional... Example... multiple stores had Jeanne d'Arc for $29.99, while other people here are reporting $7.97. Think another California CAG also reported the $29.99 price. Guess things are just more expensive here, or they're slower to reduce prices.

yeah, i've checked :psp: jeanne d'arc at 3 different sf bay area sears. they all scan at $29.99:cry:
 
Picked up GH:Aerosmith for PS3 for $7.97 and Simpsons for PS3 for $4.99 at the Ocean, NJ Sears yesterday at lunch. There was 2 GH's and 1 Simpsons left.

It isn't just regional, though. I got Jumper (360) for $1.97 at one Nashville area Sears, but at another, it still rings up $19.99.
 
My brother and I did some running around Pittsburgh yesterday. A lot of YMMV, the only really good deal we snagged was PGR4 for $5, we each got a copy. We went to Robinson, South Hills, and North Hills.

I'd like to thank the 3 or 4 slimy Sacramento hoarders for buying up the 20+ Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles yesterday.

It really warms my heart when lurkers who religiously follow this thread exploit the information you guys share in it just to make a few bucks.

This is why properly updating the OP is a major mistake on any of the main store threads, since it makes it wayyyyyy too easy for a cut/paste of the entire list. That happened to one of the prior Kmart clearance thread lists, I believe, and for about 6 months the stores around here were completely dry of ANY deals.

Mind you, I'm slowing down on my deal hunting for now, since I have shitloads of sealed games that I haven't played yet. But it'd still be good to be able to find a few extra games for some trade fodder.

Apparently very hard for some, since some have said they 'only check these threads once a month'. They expect to find deals, but they want to be spoonfed the info.

Most of the time, I find it's been newbies(users who have been here less than a year)who want to be babied and have the info all in one spot.
 
The big list def. helps when you're out and about and you check it on your phone. Except at my local Sears I don't get reception in the gaming area, haha.

I used to take hand written lists with me and I got nothing but questions as to how I knew what this or that would ring up before I had them price checked. So now I just try and remember which games/items I'm going in there looking for.

However, that isn't the best plan, since I may sometimes get a tad forgetful and go 'now what games was I coming here for?' . :lol::whistle2:#:bomb:

I think I'm going to go back to writing up a list, since I've been on my way home from a store before I remembered what games I forgot to check on.

Thats usually what i do...check CAG, write list, go to store.
 
Thing is, I completely forgot to have them check MOH: Airborne the other day when I was at the further away Sears, though I really think the WWII shooter genre is quite redundant and annoying already. I would've only bought it for trade fodder.

Now, if they made an M rated shooter where you can choose what side you play as in WWII, that might spark my interest again. But the MOH games are stale crap, if you ask me.
 
^ i coulda sworn theres a shooter out there for ps3 where u can play both sides...could be wrong tho. And about the OP list thing....it's probably cuz were old...these young dudes are so used to everything comin easy to them nowadays with all the tech out there..

I know I tried Turning Point and that game was horrible. I don't remember the name of the game, but I know there was one where you could play either side of WWII.

This. I don't know why- but i've never moved into the written or printed list territory with my game hunting. When I was still buying comics, I used to carry around a printed card of all the back issues I was missing in my wallet, and I'd check them off as I got them. I guess that was a little more difficult to remember, but still.
 
I tried a new Sears today (Bay Shore mall, NY). They had one of the biggest game sections I've ever seen in a department store. The clearance bin wasn't so hot though. Overall the selection was interesting enough that I'm excited to see what they'll have after the next drops. The guy who did the price checks for me was a real jackass though...wouldn't even scan half my games because he totally just put stickers on them. Whatever.

Unsurprisingly there were no Aerosmith/GH3 bundles left, except a single PS2 aerosmith I found way outside the game section.

A couple small errors I noticed in the OP: Gundam Crossfire is listed twice (Gundam Crossfire and Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire - they're the same). And DBZ Burst Limit is listed at $1.97.
 
Yeah there are psp games that aren't on clearance at certain locations. It's only those psp games (ff2 and monster hunter 2). Very weird

Speaking of comic books, I think I'm gonna have a bonfire with my 1990's ones which are absolutely worthless, since I can't find anyone who wants them because everyone wants Action Comics #1 and other rarities and not just some stuff to read.

Yep. I haven't even looked at most of them in almost as long as I have had them. I ended up reading them all once, then doing like EVERYBODY back then was doing: bagging and boarding them.

If I had an actual table, I'd put them up for sale at a yard sale some weekend, just to dump them off since they're only worth $1 each maybe.

if it did get posted on any other websites, at least they are a few days late and alot of people have already picked the goodies. they get the crumbs. i dont like to update the op at least a week after.. but theres alot of new stuff so i figured it would be nice to do it early this time.

so next month, back to the old schedule. the op will not be update for about a week (that way we have enough time to get the stuff we want) or so after the drops are confirmed so dont complain since information is free.
 
Went to a Sears in the local mall, but only decent game was GH:3, but it was $15 for PS3. Gonna check the other Sears nearby and see if I can find GH: Aerosmith or if GH:3 is cheaper (since I already have a copy of that game).

Yes. Sometimes they are in the glass case with the other games, and sometimes they are in a metal bin (although not all of the games in the bin will be on clearance). Occasionally, there will be a clearance game or two in one of the cardboard standees.

Picked up a new copy of Devil May Cry 4 for $19.99 at my local sears in Manchester NH.

Pretty good deal since what I really have been looking for is Heavnly Sword for around that price.

What thread am I in? Sears? As I have posted before, I have "almost" given up on Sears for clearance games, since they disappear before they have dropped adequetly. I don't ever give an exact location anymore unless I can buy a few extras for local CAGs first (PM is your friend and your local CAGs friend).
 
Woot! Went to the other Sears near me just now. Only had GH:3 out, but I asked an employee if they had GH: Aerosmith (since I already have GH:3), and they had one in the back. And was only $7 or $8! But nothing else was really that great, but I got what I wanted, and a 2GB memory card for my camera for $7.

Exactly how many local CAG's do you know of in your area though? I know of a few who I've met at various stores around here, a couple more by when they posted their location or the location of a store with some games and I know for certain there has to be at least a few more who just lurk and grab the shit out of any deals that one of the other local CAG's mentions the location on.

That should be rule #2 of CAG: NEVER MENTION SPECIFIC STORES THAT HAVE CLEARANCE GAMES.

But I digress....and as for sending PM's to other local CAG's, it's tough to want to send PM's when you're not sure who is hoarding and who isn't from the group of locals. I trust the ones I've met more to not be a major hoarder than the ones who I just found out about or who just pop up outta nowhere.
 
From my experience there has to be just about no one in my area, either poster, lurker, hoarder, anything. Sears and TRU are almost always untouched. As for KMart, the local one is such a disaster that I would rather just not bother, I have enough in my backlog anyway.
 
Happened to be in the area to stop in at another Sears today and they had both the Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles, so I decided to try to grab one for a second guitar. Took the GH3 bundle up to the register first and asked for a price check -- $49.99. "Oh, I had heard they were on clearance." "Yeah, that is the clearance price." Went over and grabbed an Aerosmith bundle and asked him to price check that -- $7.97. Score. Had hoped not to have to get the Aerosmith branded guitar, but eh, at least I got a game I didn't already have, and there are a few non-Aerosmith songs in it that are ok (I'm pretty ambivalent to Aerosmith themselves).

Also grabbed the PS3 version of The Simpsons for $4.97. There weren't any other clearance items there that were all that worthwhile.

Wow, you are seriously lucky then. It's hard to find anything around here most of the time, things get cleared out so quickly when they hit a worthwhile price. :whistle2:(
