Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

My local Sears is starting to do a little better now, I'm finding one or 2 things nowadays. Picked up :360: Shadowrun for $1.97. Good for trade in and the 48 hour Xbox Live Trial.

Those 'disaster' stores(Kmart) are usually the ones that have stuff from 1-3 clearance cycles ago stashed in the back room and cashiers who know how to look up the last price in the system for stuff and will ring up stuff for those 90% off prices even 2 years or more after they dropped out of the system.

I've been to 1-3 of those since I joined CAG and I've walked out with some great stuff from them. However, ever since the edict from corporate about not selling 'check shelf label' or 'price required' stuff it's been dead at those former goldmines.
 
That's the only problem I have with the Aerosmith bundle for PS3, is that the guitar requires fuckin' batteries for it. I'm just lucky I picked up those 2 packs of AA's from CC last fall for $2 a pack. But still though.....

I have tried this, the employees mostly give me a blank stare, once they told me they would unlock the case and let me dig through it. Still nothing. I don't really know what is going on there. Apparently they sell through the games, but don't think it is worth it to organize. Or maybe employees wait for things to go on clearance and buy everything.

Heh, yeah. I was just as happy to get the Wired Xplorer at TRU yesterday, because even though the wire is a little bit of a pain, at least I never have to worry about batteries for it. Unless I find that I like the Aerosmith guitar a whole lot more, it'll probably sit without batteries in it most of the time, and only get pulled out when I have friends over and need a second guitar (which is the main reason I wanted it anyway).

After I came back from Sears I happened to pass by a TRU and they had a Rechargeable Battery Pack for about $4(on clearance) I hadn't heard anything about it so I didn't get one... They might be a little better than using just regular batteries..
 
If anyone has the Aerosmith guitar and doesn't like the faceplate... There are deals to be had for the faceplates, the hudsons salvage stores in my area have a ton left, now down to .29 each... I snagged the blue fade, maple, chrome, & stars and stripes.
 
my contribution (and first sears c purchase. the salesperson shouted "what a great deal price x" with each scan. in the end, i found out why. he rhetorically asked me if he didn't get a 10 on service for the survey. thinking back on it, i suspect he would have scanned a lot more than i had the time for)

Jeanne d'arc PSP 2.97 (previous lowest price seen here 7.97. so get your money back you lucky bastards. last copy at store. so i couldnt buy another for someone here. hope sony will make a digital exchange plan for Go)

and the more common ps3 intercooler 4.97.... good thing i got it too since it hit SD a few hours later. argh!

Honestly, the PS3's own fans can ramp up enough to force out enough hot air to forgo the need for the Intercooler. If anything, it probably will mess up the internal PS3 fans rather than help them since they will both be acting independent of each other.

If the Intercooler ONLY kicked on once the PS3's fans shut down, THEN it might be a worthwhile accessory, but I believe it's on constantly. I wouldn't know since I don't own one and I never will.

Just saying....

Seriously, the batteries last in the guitar. I got my first guitar bundle in December and I changed out the batteries a month or so ago, but I used it extensively after finding deals on GH:A, GH3, GH2 and Rock Revo at Target (to think I thought $25 for a bundle was gonna be the best price it would hit!) and then Rock Band 1 and 2 at Blockbuster and I've played them all alot.

Really? Compared to my 360, my PS3 is whisper quiet. Unless the room is totally silent otherwise (which it generally isn't when I'm playing a game or watching a blu-ray), I don't even notice it. If the PS3 is like a lawnmower, then the 360 must be like a jet engine (heh, well, it sort of is anyway :lol:).

Yeah, normally the PS3 is really quiet. If you get the fans to go full tilt (it's gotta be REALLY hot or you've gotta do that "fan cleaning" BS thing (I don't think it works and it may damage your PS3, so don't do it. :lol: but on older PS3's it involves turning the PS3 upsidedown) it does sound like a 360 though.

That's better than the guy that "babies" his 60GB ps3. How the hell do you baby a ps3? Change the oil every 3,000 miles? The only way I can see how to baby it is not to use it and that defeats the point of having one.
 
This is one of the things that makes me mad about todays consoles. We are supposed to "take care of them" by only playing maybe a couple of hours at a time, and then shut it off for fear that overuse will kill your console. 20 years ago I could leave my NES on for weeks at a time. That same NES still works today.
 
i'm pretty sure the 60 gig (mine), has a different fan which is quite a bit louder. My buddy brought his 40 gig over for me to work on, and his was whisper quiet. Unfortunetely i couldn't fix it cuz the drive was dead. The problem i had with mine was that it stopped reading PS3 discs. I took it apart and cleaned the eye, and it works like new...i've had to do it about 3 times now though (had mine since launch). Im guessin smoke and my pets majorly contributed to the problem. Eventually im gonna get the replacement drive chassis, not the whole drive, pretty sure its the KEM-400a.
 
OK I bought Turning Point: Fall of Liberty for the 360 for $10. I always felt that $10 or less games are worth it.......this one proved me wrong. WHat a complete mess and waste of $10.

I picked up that game too, for :ps3: for $5 but I haven't opened it yet, because of the horrible reviews I've read about it. I might as well take it back then and hope I stumble across another $5 game that's actually worth it.. lol
 
Just got back from Spokane Valley, WA Sears. Lots of GH Aerosmith bundles in stock. My buddy and I each bought a couple of the ps3 bundles for $8 for the guitars. When we left they had 4 ps3 bundles, 3 360 bundles, and over 10 ps2 bundles on display. They're marked 19.99 each, but ring up at the aforementioned 5 and 8 dollar point.

Just got back from my Sears extremely disappointed. There were around 10 overpriced PS2 games, 2 Resident Evil 4 for the Wii at $20, and NO 360 or PS3 games. This city sucks..
 
Leave it up to me to start an off topic discussion that goes roughly a page and a half.

As for my PS3, I have a 40 gb and you can tell when the fan ramps up as it's VERY audible. Then again, I have my PS3 situated right on table next to my bed and I sit within 5-6 feet of it, so that may explain why I'm able to hear it so well.
 
My sears (Oakland Mall in the Detroit area) had Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles for both PS3 and 360 for $7.97. Also, Legends of Rock for 360 was $2.97. Also saw some copies of Shadow of the Colossus which is pretty cool. A lot better selection that I figured there would be, I'm keeping Sears on my regular rounds now.

i just got back from a sf bay area sears. they just put out the GH bundles again? i asked a sales associate about these earlier in the week. according to this person, they were sold out.

unfortunately, for :ps3: owners, some teenager and his mom grabbed all the :ps3: GH bundles, which were enough to fill a shopping cart and then some. this is a true case of extreme hoarding.

there are still :ps2: and :360: GH bundles left.

Had my first negative experience with a customer today. Said he read online that it was $7.97 for all our Guitar Hero Bundles and wanted all of our Guitar Hero World Tour band kits for $7.97.

He insisted that it was the law that we sell it to him for that price because it was posted on the internet at that price, and when I told him no, and later my manager told him no, he stated he was going to see us both in jail for not selling the product at the price he said he read it was online. When we asked him what site he read it on he said "it's secret and I don't want fucks like you on it anyways."

I just really, really hope it wasn't anyone from this site. And if it was; get a life.
 
Bah - no Kmarts around here anymore...the ones that were closed or became Sears Home or something like that.

That sucks man. I hate batshit crazy customers. I had a bitch scream at me the other day because I wouldn't sell her 20oz 7up's for 50 cents. For some reason she thought that 7up and generic root beer are one in the same.

I've been in retail for 7 years now, it doesn't really phase me anymore. I'm more concerned that it was someone from this community that I enjoy being a part of. I did search just now and it hit SD so I'm going to go with the theory that it was a SD'er.

I'm also a Criminal Justice Major in college so I love it when people just say "It's the law you have to". I feign interest in what section of the MAGL it's in because I must have missed it the first two times I read it.

People are crazy. There are so many things wrong with that Ferant! lol. Don't let it get to you, no matter what line of work anyone is in, they will eventually have to deal with their fair share of idiots.

Awwww, that sucks! I only discovered this site a few days ago, but it's brilliant and I'm just thankful for everyone being so kind about posting all the deals they find! Like I went to my 2nd local Sears and they had tons of GH's for $8 left, but I was like "Ok, well I already have 2 guitars now, so I'll let someone else get to enjoy the game". Meh, bad enough that he kept ordering you to sell for $7.97, but it's worse that he was going to try and hoard them too!

I say PS3s at Sears are $.01 and 42 inch TVs are $.02. Now can I go and get them for that price? I typed it online so it much be so.

vom is very old merchiandise. and when it goes outa the system that just means the price turns to zero and they must collect the items and send them back to the vendor.

also clearance is still iffy imo. ive seen many clearance items come back in stock magically a couple of times. the companies usually ship it out with a new upc code or something like that.

basically sears has many different forms of clearance from what i got. theres items that end with .97, then others with .88 then some that end with .93. i think .97 is for smaller stuff like games, .88 is for the tvs, and .93 is made via the snick(i think thats how u spell it) and the manager putting in the system as 991 which is from what i can tell a clearance for in store stuff.

its just a little insight from what i conjured up over the past 3 years working there. there isnt even a signing crew in the eletronics depart so most things get overlooked. lucky me i check for it
