Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

which one is it. i bet its a newer model. i have the orignal 60 gig and that motha sounds like a 360 after a hour of playing infamous or pretty much any other game.

I use that line sometimes after the fact of getting a game cheap, they will say " How did you know this game was so cheap" I will reply with you can find anything on the internet.... most of the time now though I just tell them my friend was in here earlier and got one and told me it was cheap... One guy told me wow its nice to have friends like that my friends would come in and buy it all up and try and sell it to me for more.... lol
 
Does anyone happen to know if sears ever clearances blu-ray movies? I want to add some to my collection, and the store that carries them have them in a casing, and of course an employee is never around.

My bet is SD, saw that someone posted about the guitar heroes two days ago....and knew that there would be some backlash. Some people need to learn how to handle themselves in public. :roll:

Went to sears last night and picked up the PS3 aerosmith bundle for $7- The sales people were impressed. I asked them if they had another one, or any gh3 bundles, and they checked the back and said they had nothing else.

On the way out of the store though, I saw one of the clerks placing the exact games I'd asked about behind the customer service desk. Way to be honest, guys!

I was going to call him out on it- but my wife was with me, and she was already kind of annoyed that i was adding to my collection of plastic junk.
 
Yeah, that'd be awesome if you can post about the VOMs. There's probably stuff that was missed by CAG that someone would probaly want before it drops.

Finally had time to try the guitar that came with the GH: Aerosmith that I bought the other day, and discovered that the strum bar isn't working -- it only registers it when it's pushed downward, when it's pushed up nothing happens. Went through all of the troubleshooting steps on the company's website, and nothing worked.

So now I get to go back to exchange it, and hope they haven't been cleaned out already. If not, I guess I'll get to see what the warranty replacement process is like. :cry:

That sucks. However, it could be nothing more than a simple adjustment needed in either the sensor, or a quick solder. If you're so inclined...will be much cheaper and quicker than warranty replacement.

I had that happen when I picked up the Warhawk bundle for $10 a while back from the one local Sears. After going out to the car, I decided I should grab another bundle for my TL, so I went back in to find that one of the fuckin' employees had just hid or bought the other two that were left. :bomb:

Ever since then, any GOOD games that go on clearance seem to disappear from that store before I can go back there to get them. It's quite annoying.
 
Man, some of the stores in other cities blow. Assholes kept making up policies to keep me from pricematching. Surprisingly the store that rarely marks their clearances down at all was the 1 store that let me do some pricematches.

The Searsfeedback thing has an option to leave your number so someone can call you back. Im definitely leaving some negatives and hoping I get to speak a piece of my mind to one of the higher ups for the district.
 
Interesting, I went back today to pick up a GH Aerosmith bundle for PS3 for a friend, and a PS2 bundle for another friend. Turns out that while the PS3/360 bundles were 7.97, the PS2 ones rang up 49.97. Seemed odd, but I found one with a tag that said $14.97 which is what I got it for. Also, they were selling a two guitar version of GH3 for $19.97, but my buddy didn't want that for whatever reason... seemed worth the extra $5 to me..

haha, yep what do u expect. i personally think there should really be a policy for employees not to buy clearance stuff. its unfair especially when there are people like me that pick up on it really fast.

the freaking clearance tag for gh was out in the store like 3 weeks ago laying on there counter. i wonder if anyone remembers i posted it before it happened. but ya i think its because im all about deals. i look out for the customers buying things too via price matching and stuff like that

That's one of the only good perks of working.

Ah, thanks! I went to the store that I bought it at, and of course they were out, but then I went and tried another store that's a little more out of the way (which, oddly, is the only store I've seen that's had these marked as clearance, at the others the employees didn't even know) and they had one left. So I exchanged for that. Haven't had a chance to test it yet, though.

I'll definitely have to keep that link bookmarked, though, so I have it if I run into another issue in the future.

I debated about the bundles for about 5 minutes too long, but I learned for next time not to procrastinate so much.

I noticed when I went to the other local Sears today that they had piled copies of Little Big Planet in front of the lone remaining GOOD clearance game left(Bioshock for PS3).

My one buddy on CAG hit this same store yesterday and they told me they had a copy of both Motorstorm and Condemned 2 left, but they were long gone when I went today. :cry: I really only wanted to replace the copy of Condemned 2 that I just sent out in a trade on Friday and I figured for $5 I'd give Motorstorm a whirl.

On the upside though, they still had a lone copy of Ballers: Chosen One for PS3 I could've grabbed. :roll:

Oh well.....at least I tried.....and hopefully the even further away Sears I hit up for my copies of Condemned 2, Folklore and a couple other games still stays a goldmine.

Yeah, every single time that I manage a good clearance find at a Sears and the employee seems shocked by it, I fear that he's going to start cleaning them out before I get there from now on. Hasn't happened yet so far, but it's pretty much impossible to get a clearance deal without alerting the employee to the fact that there are unmarked clearance games in the case.
 
I wouldn't worry about it. I used to think the same thing since it is usually the same 2 cashiers ringing up my games and they always ask how do I know the games are so cheap and how they work there and don't know. Every month I think they are finally going to pay attention to the drops and buy everything but they rarely even update the price tags on clearance games.

Is adjustment/return-rebuy an option at Sears? If so, how long to I have to return the items?
 
Huge favor to ask. I accidentally sold a copy of Bullet Witch (new/sealed) on half.com that I had already traded locally and forgotten to pull from my inventory. Does anyone's Sears still have a copy? I have checked every Sears in town except 1, which I will check tomorrow. If you can fulfill the sale, PM me to coordinate. Whoever can do this, I will either paypal or send a check (your preference) for $13.93, which is the total I am getting after half.com's commission. I could e-mail the guy and cancel the sale, but I hate to renege if I can avoid it. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near the West Coast. I'm actually on the East Coast someplace. :D I've been trying to unload them for like $75-100 total and the real shipping costs, even though I hate losing $$$, but I know otherwise no one will take them.

I did a return/rebuy on my aerosmith guitar bundle and 2wks from 24.97 to 7.97, but I actually had to bring it in and they couldn't just do it by receipt only. Luckily I didn't open it yet. I think 30 days is the return policy, so that's your window for this.
 
Are the clearance prices the same at all Sears? Because if so, I think there is a Motorstorm and PS3 Timeshift I might have go in there to pick up. Last time I saw them both for about $15 I think.
 
My store has a call of duty 3 for ps3 behind the glass and it looks like it is still marked full price. Anybody know if this game is being clearanced out at all stores and it's just not marked? If so, I'm going to go back and get it.

Clearance prices are not universally true. One store may have them while another may not. I visited a Sears today that had 4 titles for the PSP that "should have" been clearanced, but were full price instead.

YMMV is the rule, here.

I've been to 8 different stores in 5 different counties and none of their CoD3 or the PS2 American Idol bundles scanned at clearance prices. CoD is definitely one of the more YMMV titles (CoD4 is regular price everywhere as well)

Agreed. When i worked at Game Crazy years ago, i always kept the good stuff and threw the customers crumbs. lol Yeah, i know it kind of sucks that they hid the warhawk game but hey he passed the game up. You snooze, you lose.
 
I wouldn't mind driving out to see if any other good clearance games but most of the other Sears stores are too far. Not sure if it's even worth the drive you know.
 
No go Sears at Antioch Mall (Kansas City, MO). Only few games is on clearance & most of the games still regular price :( End up got kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PS3) $10
 
Got Timeshift for $2 and Simpson's for $5 (both for PS3) at the Brockton MA Sears. No GH clearance bundles left, except for the $20 Aerosmith PS2 double guitar pack.

Also got some Sennheiser PX100 headphones for $20.

Make sure you are scanning KR presents: American Idol not KR presents: American Idol Encore. AFAIK, the one with Randy, Paula and Simon on the box is not on clearance.
 
Went to make another round of Sears run, mainly to take back Turning Point. I picked up (Different from the OP)

:ps3: TimeShift $1.97
:ps3: The Simpsons $4.97
:ps2: Manhunt 2 $1.97

and :ps3: Condemned 2 for $4.97.

Also cool little side story, at one of the Sears that I always go into, the same guy was over in electronics, and he remembered me because I always ask him to scan games, and he told me that they marked down Folklore to $9.97 (Which it was full price at first.) I told him that I already had it, and to let me know when Jeanne d'Arc drops.. I dont know if he will, but how awesome is that. It actually makes me want to do that customer survey at the end of my receipt.. lol

Oh and whoever was looking for Bullet Witch, Sorry, none of the stores I went to had it. Just thought I'd let you know..
 
Got PS3 Ironman for $5 today. No other clearance games, well besides GH, but I got those already. But at least I got one xD

DOH! It was Encore that I was scanning. I think its the only one i've ever seen at any of the Sears so I figured it was the one. Good to know.
 
Ah, found my games in a minuete today, waited a good 15 minuetes for some service. Picked upa Civ Rev for 9.97, but Jeanne D'Arc rang up at 29.99 =/

Normal Packaging was priced clearance, while platinum hits is still 29.99 @ mine.
