Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Aw, well good thing I didn't buy it then. The $2 was tempting, but wanted to double check. Well I'll just have to find a bundle on clearance before I buy them! Thanks!
 
It seems to me the prices listed on the 1st page are very much YMMV. I've been to 4 different Sears around the Chicagoland area and every single one of them has different prices on their clearance games. I would have thought there was a single price controlled by some corporate server, but I guess not. The same goes for Target and Kmart. Well, after lots of searching, I picked up these, all for 360:

Oakbrook mall Sears
Brothers-in-Arms: HH - $9.97
Lost Odyssey - $4.97

Elmhurst Sears
GH Aerosmith bundle - $7.97 (they had 1 PS3 version left, not sure the price)

North Riverside mall sears
Civ Revolution - $9.97

Yeah, the ones you listed are usually those prices at all Sears (at least to the ones I've been to). There are some titles though that are an extreme YMMV (i.e. Jeanne D'Arc, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Cranium Kabooki, Oblivion PS3).
 
some sears also didnt have Guitar Hero Aerosmith PS3 bundle on clearance and rang up $59.99 instead of $7.97 but the 360 was. it seems like they are starting to do some regional clearances maybe? god i hope not :(

I don't know about REGIONAL, I almost think it's store-by-store.

I found Final Fantasy V on Gameboy on the North side of town for $20 and just a few miles to the Southwest it rang up at $5. Sears is crazy and completely unpredictable.

Thats happened to me twice. The cashier would be ringing in my games and the computer would ask if I wanted to buy a warranty for the game. She would keep ringing in a couple more games and then realize the computer was asking to sell a warranty. Up until that point the games were free since the first game triggered the warranty question. Saved me some cash. :) I buy so damn much from Sears clearance games I dont feel to bad when this happens.

And since I'm buying so many games I usually don't even realize it until I'm checking the receipt after I leave the store. Of course, I've also been double charged for games as well, so it works both ways.

GTF0 Not everyone lives near a store and don't have the time to waste driving to 5 different SEARS 20 min apart. Why would i drive 25 min each way not sure when the lady on the phone well tell me that the bundles are 8$ there and the harddrive i wanted was still there at 70, and even put them behind the register for me.

What, you can't feasibly recognize that calling first is a prohibitive action if you're honestly wanting deals *for yourself*? Make the trip and check it out for yourself...don't stinking advertise that there's clearance that might not be known about. Why *wouldn't* the employee on the phone tell you they don't have it?

Besides, as always: if you would *read* this thread, you'd know about this already. You didn't...and calling screws not just you, but everyone else, too.

Are these Sears clearance deals for $1.97, etc. EXTREMELY rare (and do some stores simply never drop to these levels)? I stumbled upon clearance of $19.97 or so for games, but to date, I have never seen games go below the $9.97 price point.

I found a ton of games on the list that should have been $1.97 or $5.97, but they all rang up at full retail price. Same thing for Kmart. Do alot of the stores simply not drop below $9.97 for a game?

I understand very well that these deals are YMMV and on a store-to-store basis, but in my many Sears/Kmart EXTREME clearance searches, I only find higher-priced stuff. :(
 
Just went to my sears today. The girl said they were marking them down and she would be done at close of business day. She was throwing a lot of crap in a basket but I didn't get a good look. I Will be there in the morning, but everything still had full price stickers on it.

I got Gauntlet/Rampart and Rave Master on the GBA for $0.97 each. They were even marked properly. Guess no shoppers have touched the GBA display in forever.

Sometimes only one version of the game is on clearance while the others aren't. The PS3 version of Spider-Man: WOS is on clearance. Every other version is not. The PS3 version of FEAR is on clearance. The 360 version is not. You have to make sure you're scanning the right versions of each game. And ALWAYS scan the game, NEVER go by the sticker price as the sticker price is usually wrong.

I'm willing to bet that the girl was just physically putting new stickers on the games. The prices in the system probably went down on June 5th like at every other Sears.
 
I found Diner Dash for the DS for $1.97 at one Sears...then it was $19.99 at the next one.

The Simpsons was consistently $4.97 on both 360 and PS3.

And although several stores having Jeanne and Monster Hunter, all were full price. THATS IT YOU LIED TO ME CAG IM LEAVING 4EVAR.
 
it'd be fun to shove some sticks into the side of those urinal cakes and give them away at the fair. :)

There is a copy of popcap arcade hits for 19.99 that is so old the cover is completely faded. How do they not clearance this stuff out. :(
 
Orange Box Xbox was ring up for $19.99 at the Durham, NC store. I managed to snag the last copy of Ninja Gaiden 2

Some people have a life and won't spend hours driving, retail workers will exploit 1000$ tv clearence shit not 20$ games most of the time, grow the fuck up.

Found :psp: Jeanne D'Arc today, and it scanned for $10.97. I was hoping it would be cheaper, but I went ahead and grabbed it anyway because I'm getting a PSP soon from the Amazon trade-in promo and want to have some games ready to play on it.

Some of you get a little carried away with bashing on people that say they call the stores. Of course, at least some of that is well deserved because it says not to and why in large print in the first post.

And yes, when sears employees are tipped off on cheap items, they WILL try to not sell it to you (easiest of course is over the phone by telling you they don't have that item and keeping it for themselves). People have even reported trying to buy an item and the employee trying not to sell it to them right then and there which is ridiculous. At one of my local stores I happen to be there one day when the entire department was sitting at the game case pricing out the latest markdowns and discussing really loudly how they will be trading some of these in to gamestop.

Point being: by calling or telling an employee about this forum, you very well may be killing any chance you have of ever getting any deals at that store again, as well as ruining others chances. Don't be surprised when you get bashed for that.

Ok went back to sears today an man did I clean up! It really did help that the girl actually restickered them like she said she was. Jeanne D'Arc was the only one thats still at retail... Timeshift for PS3 was 1.97, did not see one for 360. Snatched the only iron man, since I hear everyones after it! Found a rare gem that wasnt on the list: Superman Returns for Ps2, 1.97! Surprisingly I passed....
 
I checked a third Sears/Sears Essentials today, and none of the clearance was on in any of them, even though the games were present.

Meh...such is life.

1.most sears stores do their markdowns at the end of the day usually right before we close
2.we or the manager usually know of the price drops usually 4 to 7 days b4 they happen so yes we know wat is goin on we have to confirm the product is in stock idk y exactly
3.like other people have posted dont call just go to the store and ask 4 the price it will vary by store also the videogames will also vary by store if ur lucky the manager or in store marketing did or does the markdowns so a sales associate mite not b aware of the markdown
4.dont asume dat because the site says we have it we do cuz if its a good game theirs a good chance its stolen (games under 19.99 arent secure) this also depends on the stores clasification of safe or high risk
5.games will rarely drop to under 7.97 because we try to buy them b4 dey go under 5-7 dollars if they do they will be VOM (very old merchendise) it will b priced anywere 4rm 4.97 to 1.97 for 3 to 7 days before we RTV it (return to vendor) once its VOM sears employes are not allowed to buy any merchendise wen its in its last markdown only after 72 hrs that the item was displayed at its last price but usually wen it comes to games buy the games b4 they go under $5 to not risk not gettin the game
6.sears and kmart are the same company i know many of u are aware but just bare wit me ok both stores dont have a universal markdown system and it is extremely frustrating so be very patient it can take up to 3 months before a game is marked down again so keep checking
7.and the last thing this is sad but true depending on the store and or manager the games and or electronics mite not ever b marked down but just RTV (return to vender)

i think thats the main things and i veryfied the pricing and its all out of sync some games we RTV and some we never had
