Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

My Sears has a lot of the dropped games, just not at the dropped prices. Have to wait for one more drop or so.

I didn't find anything of interest really. Transporter UMD is OOS now, and I found :psp: Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City (GH) at $14.97. That's a new one I think.

Sears is weird like that. Back during the Guitar Hero rush, when everyone was getting GH3 and GHA for $7.97, the Sears here had GHA for that price, but was still charging $49.99 for GH3. I don't know how a national chain could be so completely inconsistent -- makes you wonder how badly organized everything else is in their business.

Somehow my Sears got their shit together and actually organized all the clearance stuff. When I checked last week - zilch. Tonight, I picked up the only copies of PS3 Timeshift for $2.97 and Motorstorm for $4.97. Don't know if they found the games somewhere, or just decided to clean up the cases. Either way - win for me.

Also, they had a little yellow sticker on the case for PS3 Stuntman with the price listed as $1.97 (different from OP). I know they had at least 1 copy last week, and now it's gone with the wind. And yet the sticker remains...

Mine too- i wonder if this is the future... I get the impression it is just to get rid of all the GH bundles.

PSP. I beleive its just a program that lets you manage your media, such as music or pictures on your psp. I've heard newer versions allow you to access the PS store.
 
Walked into sears and saw an organized clearance section. Bad thing is the GH clearance games were still ringing up as 20 while showing up as clearance in their computers.
 
A fact about the Media Manager:
Yes, it is free now, but if you buy the retail version, you get a serial key which you can use to upgrade to PRO right from the software.

Can't you access the PS store regardless? I can access it from my PSP 2001, but I did buy it used, so perhaps the previous owner had already installed it
 
Americas Army: True Soldiers is down to $10, and the Xbox Vision kit is down to $31.xx at my local sears in Akron, OH.

Sim City DS for $5 is great, but a lot of that is complete garbage.
 
I have also went to a couple different Sears and it seems as though most discounted games are universal, some have random drops such as one Sears had Grand Theft Auto SanAndres for 4.99 with it ringing up at 19.99 at another and 10.99 at still another. Same is true for Game Party which leads me to believe that there are two maybe even three different scales that Sears uses to decide which games get dropped.
 
Got 120 GB hard drive for $69.99 at the topanga mall also got a eye of judgement bundle for $29.98, there's one more bundle left if anyone wants one.
 
No luck in Silverdale, WA this week. Looks like somebody had raped the clearence rack though, games just tossed all over the shelves with no rhyme or reason. I know CAGs aren't disrespectful like that... right?

That depends. If it takes me 30 minutes to pry one of the social butterflies away from their coffee klatch by the HDtv's for long enough to get something outta the case for me, then I might kinda 'oops' a couple games out of place.

This is assuming they even let ME root around in the case, but more likely they just ask me to point out which game I want out of the case and then point to the WRONG one for 5 minutes. Repeat per game until they think I'm going to get pissed and leave without anything so they can get back to yapping or until I'm done checking shit out.

I have a question. At the sear by me, I could of remembered that Eternal Sonata for 360 was dirt cheap. So when I saw it, I asked the customer rep to help me scan for the price. But the game kept beeping because it was not in the system. But there was a $29.97 sticker there. So they tried to charge me the price on the ticket. Is there a policy or price point for games that are not in the system?

Depends on the cashier, I've had some just scan another cheap game and give it to me for that price (when there was no price sticker). I've had others say they had to put it in RTV (return to vendor).

Some will also sell it to you at the last sticker price (which is what they tried in your case). The last price for Eternal Sonata 360 was $4.97 by the way, but I'm not sure there is a way they could've brought that up.

mostly i look for the sticker, if not i call a manager and i let them figure it out. usually they either make a bogus price up or they will choose another clearance item to compare the price to

As probably the only other CAG in our Area (Kitsap). It wasn't me. That area has been a mess the last 3 months. The racks away from the cases. The clearance on the far side and the near side near the case they have the cheap games. But it's not always organized like that. You used to be able to find all the clearance games in the case with the normal prices on them. I think they hired somebody who cares, I have foudn more clearance stuff outside the case and on the shelf. Where it disappears in a month or two. I was looking to find Singstar Amped. I wanted to wait for $5 not $10, and both copies disappeared. My loss for being cheap. Only thing that was left last I was there about 1 month ago was Iron Man, and some other meh games.

I know you guys have said that everything is YMMV, but i stopped by my local sears yesterday looking for a 60 xbox drive, with no luck. I peeked down into a locked cage and saw a HD DVD drive tagged for $60, what are the odds that its at a lower price? Anyone have a upc for it where i can scan in there somewhere? thanks.

the 120 HDD disappeared from my sears. same with kmart (i think they were still $80 there).

Last time I had one scanned (early this month), it was $50.

Thanks for the info...I was hoping that player had been sitting down there for many months and I might steal it at the 4.97 listed in the op.
 
I still see the original print of Persona 3 (with the bonus items) at various SEARS stores from time to time. The shrink wrap on every copy looks extremely worn; they've been sitting there for probably the full time period this game's been released. They ring up $50 every time too...
