hmmm, that's strange because the adam fenix code came with every limited and epic edition of the game, and if you mean the infected omen weapon skins, those also did not only come when you preordered the consoles

Wonder why Minecraft isn't also bumped. I know on the few game trading sub reddits, Minecraft is banned because of the Raptr giveaway.

Can someone explain this rule to me? I don't get it at all. None of those games are CURRENTLY free, so why aren't they tradable? It's not like I can just go over to Raptr and grab one.

It's like saying Mark of the Ninja isn't tradable because PlayXBLA has been giving them away.

Someone please enlighten me.
 
I imagine it is to try and stop people from flipping/turning codes.

To stop people from 'taking' free games away from people who actually want them.

I honestly don't understand why the giveaway games aren't trade-able, they are no longer currently free. They were a limited give away, not everyone could even acquire them, and are no longer available for free. Like an above poster even said, PlayXBLA has given away several Mark of the Ninja codes, and they have several pic of the day winners everyday.
I mean, rules are rules, even if they don't make sense I guess

Because some of us don't like browsing through 81 pages

Because this place isn't where you put your Christmas wishlist

Because we don't need to see the same post every day (you know who you are)

Because if there's something obscure someone needs, they will actively search for it

Because the conversations you should be doing in private makes navigating the list a chore

Because people don't think things through, so mods have to do it for them

So the people who actually WANT to buy/trade for it are screwed, why aren't people just allowed to list it, and it just be ignored if you don't care

Edit: I could understand if it was actually free to anyone, and all you had to do was just follow a link and you got a code, but since only a limited amount were given out, and you had to meet requirements. It should only not be allowed during the time frame that it was available.

And, I'm not even trying to list it for trade, I redeemed my copy for myself, I just don't think it's fair for others

I ended up having to install their software I didn't want.

The "no trading" rule is usually applied to games that are given out en masse from a single source for free and/or obtainable via an exploit.
It is also usually applied to giveaways that are currently running (which the Joe Danger 2 Raptr Reward is not) and maybe for a little while after as the dust settles.

Using Raptr as an example, those Minecraft and Joe Danger 2 codes still required you to have an Xbox Live gamertag (and a valid Facebook account as some sort of verifier), plus experience in previous games on said gamertag.

You had to jump through a few hoops plus plenty of places that aren't Raptr threw out Minecraft codes like confetti. It seems the internet's handing out Joe Danger 2 like candy too.

Example: Since it launched I've had seven Minecraft codes cross hands, all from different sources. That one just kinda happened, funnily enough the one I redeemed was the Raptr one.

The Maw and R-Type giveaways required an Xbox Live Silver account. You can set one of those up in a few minutes. That counts as an exploit, hence why those codes were banned. Plus when that Raptr reward expired recently there were still over five thousaaand of those left!

tl;dr I'd wait until Shrike or Trakan or another mod makes a statement on the status of Joe Danger 2 codes. In the meantime expect to be lowballed like crazy. Supply and demand.

Oh and yes, you can put a "banned" item on your want list at your own risk. Sp00ge made that clear when he was a mod.

By at your own risk I mean if you list a banned item them don't complain if a flood of users then offer you that item or you only get extortionate offers.

Oh well that's me told, thought you had to have a Gold sub. It still had prerequisites though, prerequisites it would have been difficult to meet a second time in the release window unless you have multiple gamertags you play the same games on like a silly person. Besides, I think no cost was required to obtain most of the things we have on our have lists.

Neither Raptr giveaway required anything but play time/experience, no XBL sub was required. No cost was required to obtain either Joe Danger or Minecraft.
