The only rare thing about Castlevania: SotN is if it has an original case. That might sell for a pretty penny on ebay. The greatest hits is more common.

Great game - if you get one that isn't defective. Some of them have save bugs. If you live near an EB it's worth a shot because its' a fun game

Got a 7.9 from IGN

I have a copy of Castlevania SOTN that isn't greatest hits and has the original case. I already had the greatest hits version but I saw this at a flea market and picked it up for $5.00 since I knew it was rare. I need to sell it to some "collecter".

man, what am I gonna do with all this morning I'm saving up due to the bad updates EBgames has............. I know I might actually have enough to buy the $700 bundle for the Xbox 360......... That must be EBgames' plan.............bad updates=people save money for the $700 Xbox 360 bundle
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness 35 shipped just in case i cant find the reprint cheap
I was under the impression that you already had Disgaea? Maybe I'm just mixing you up with someone else.

Received a fairly large order on monday, 13 PS1 games. Games arrived in good condition, only weird thing was that that a lot of the discs had this weird white crap all over them. I panicked at first, but the stuff just wiped off very easily without leaving a trace. Anyone else get this? This white dust or whatever was on like half of my games.

Oh and a couple of the games had a "P" written on them in black marker... I hate when EB does that! It wasn't so bad though. All eight Fear Effect discs were unmolested so I was happy with that.

Hello, I received a defective game(puzzle fighter) through EBgames.com. I was wondering, can I take it to a EB store and get my money back? Thanks.

I'm dealing with the same problem.

You can exchange it at a local store IF they have one in stock.

If you want your money back, you have to call the number on the invoice and return the item through a return mailer they send you.

I -think- that is what is left after they clean the discs... it's a rubbing compound I believe. The games I get with that on them always look like new.

I have done so many times. Only problem is sometimes the kids behind the register don't know what they're doing.

I finally went to a different, non-mall EB and the people were really cool. They apologized for not having the same game in stock and just gave me store credit instead. Moral of the story: idiots go to malls.

Correction, most copies of this game have bugs. There is a glitch in the game that prevents you from starting a new level if you just encountered a moving vehicle prior to visiting the area. This glitch doesn't start up until about 1/3 of the way into the game.

To counter this, keep more than one save, and never save where you leave yourself in a position that you cannot avoid a vehicle on your next move. The entire game can be played without ever coming into contact with one of these vehicles if you plan your moves correctly. The downside is that these missions are the ones where you can rack up a lot of extra lives. Without them, you may end up taking on most of the missions toward the end of the game with only one life per try.

It's still worth picking up, especially for $3 b/c

I don't know if it was luck on my part but I only had 1 life left on one of the later levels of Bionic Commando Elite Forces & wanted to do afew of the moving vehicle parts to get some extra guys but it kept locking up on me, although sometimes it wouldn't lock up on me after entering a level after doing a moving vehicle part but I wasen't lucky enough this time around. I was having this problem while playing on my GBA SP so I figured I give it a try on my GBC & it didn't lock up on me after the moving vehicle then entering a level but it could have just been dumb luck that it worked for me ok on my GBC.

Ditto. The glitch only happened for me on my GBA and GBA SP. On the GBC, Bionic Commando played perfectly with no glitches.

Now that you mention it I do recall also trying it on my GBA and I also had the same problem on it as I did with my GBA SP :D

I thought this problem only showed up if you saved? Like if you went tru;y commando through the game, it wouldn't show? If I recall correctly, I went through level 11 on my copy this way without any problem, and yes, I did try runing into the trucks to gather more lives.

Maybe I should pick it up again to play all the way through. It just doesn't seem as good as the NES version somehow. Do we still get to make Hitler's head explode at the end?

If it's in the ad, we can price match at BB and use the $5 off coupon, making the games $10.00!

The white crap was all over my MvC2 games! It wiped off, but I'm glad it wasn't just me. Clearly EB must have gotten sloppy or had some kind of problem. It was on 3 of the 4 games.

Maybe. A lot of employees won't let you price match a sale and also use the ccoupon.

Question - Which cheap games does EB sell that are 2 disks? I need to get some of the 4 disk cases for my Tactics Ogre and Ogre Battle I bought from EB. (I got the inserts and manuals from Atlus.)

Thanks,
Matthew

I think (not positive) that white stuff is actually dried disc-cleaning solution. You can usually just rub it off with a clean cloth, but I've gotten discs from EB that had that crap inside the clear inner ring of the disc; doesn't affect gameplay at all, it just looks like it's chipped or something.

That happened to me once also. It didn't affect gameplay but bothered me enough for me to return it to their B&M. Shame because the instruction was in excellent condition (not counting the sticker on the cover), and the case could have been replaced.

They would only give me store credit though.
I just picked up Gauntlet for the GCN about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Such a fun and addictive game.

However, you guys are comparing the PS2 and N64 versions and such.. the PS2 may have a version of Gauntlet Legends, not sure, but the N64 definitely is just Gauntlet Legends. The link to the Cube version (and yeah, there's a PS2 and Xbox version as well) is Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. That's why there's more levels in the PS2 one you guys/gals are talking about. It's like an expanded Gauntlet Legends. I believe it contains most, if not all, of the stuff Legends had plus new items, levels, etc. :)
Good point - we are comparing two "different" games, but Dark Legacy really is an expanded version of Legends, and each game is the only one available on its respective system (that I know of), so the comparison is valid, I think.
If you can find it.
Yep. I have been totally unable to find this. I got FF Tactics and FF 9 (both new, GH) for $7 and change total though.

Thanks,
Matthew
Good luck... my Fear Effect 2 case was completely busted up. The two halves were separated, the front part was split, and the black parts on the edge (with the little ridges) had come completely off (and then one side was broken and the other was missing). I have no idea how someone messes a case up that badly!! Oddly enough it did come with the manual though. And the discs were immaculate, so I'm not complaining. But anyway, be careful about buying games just so you can get a double case. I'm sure my example is a rare exception, but it's worth sharing.

Yeah, I agree.. still valid. And still an awesome game, in my opinion (Dark Legacy). :)
