I've taken the FAQ from the other thread & pretty much just pasted it here without any changes made to it. You can find this FAQ at the bottom of this thread past the game list. The first list is the current game list. The second list is the original clearance list.

Consider yourself lucky if you find any titles from the second list, also most everything on the second list should be a big YMMV as most of those titles are now out of the system &/or have been pretty much bought up by everyone by now.

Alrighty then, here is the new and improved Kmart Clearance list. All titles are in alphabetical order according to their platform. The listings will be as follows: UPC - Game Title - Price.

Any game title that I've put in BOLD is missing the full 12 digit UPC & is represented with zeros. Any missing info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the prices will be listed according to info I get from inventories. However, if 3 people can confirm the same price on a certain game, then I'll change the listed price to reflect it. I'll try my best to keep this updated as much as possible.

All updates on pricing will be done as I find them and/or posts from you guys/gals. I just updated some prices for select games that I found recently. Any price that I just changed has a v next to the price. There may still be a few prices out of whack, but for the most part they're current.

Remember if you have a UPC that we need please PM me so I may update the zeroed UPC's. Thank you to everyone contributing info in this thread!

Below you will find another game list. This is the original clearance list that should mostly be YMMV by now. All prices below are the last known prices reported, but many are out of the system and will now depend on the employee you get, the tag on the game and your own negotiating skills.
I've not included UPC's, but I do have most of them & can add them later if there is enough demand for them. Good luck finding anything on this list!;)

FAQ

Q: Why was this thread created?
A: Because there are multiple threads floating around, and its useful to consolidate. THis one will have the OP constantly updates so you don't have to go digging.

Q: Are these prices YMMV?
A: No, they shouldn't be. I currently have 10 K-Marts in my shopping radius, and they've all been consistent. At one time it was thought that they were YMMV, but I'm pretty sure it was instead employee incompetence at keeping prices updated.

EDIT: Some people are reporting prices that are YMMV, but I am hesitant to mark the deal as such. If you get a different price, it seems to be the exception to the rule, not a true YMMV where it is hit or miss. I'd say these prices are 90% accurate.

Q: An employee said the price was higher than what's on the list.
A: Get the game scanned at the register.

Q: The employee got that price gun and said it was higher than what's on the list.
A: GET THE GAME SCANNED AT THE REGISTER. The gun is incorrect sometimes.

Q: Can I use the price checker thingies?
A: YES! Brilliant idea! They will give you an accurate price. Also, if you have the problem of useless employees not opening the cases for you, you can print off the UPC codes and check them at the price checker.

Q: How can I help?
A: Multiple ways:
- Get a job at K-Mart so we have an inside man
- Post the prices of the games you get
- Write down the prices of games you do not get, then post those too

Q: When are items marked down?
A: Once a month, near the middle of the month.

Q: Does this have anything to do with the weekend 50% off sales K-Mart usually runs?
A: No. While some of these games used to be on the list, this is completely seperate. None of these games are on the 50% list anymore and will not be reduced during these sales.

Q: What if I bought a game at a higher price and it gets reduced? Can I get a price adjustment or a return/rebuy?
A: Chances are VERY SLIM. K-Mart does not do price adjustments on clearance items. A return/rebuy might be possible, but most Kmarts do not employee people with the mental capacity to fully understand this concept.

Q:Can I price check the games without getting into the cases?
A: Yes, thanks to this UPC document from TimTucker. You can scan these at self scanners located in most K-Marts, but note that sometimes prices may not be accurate
Old Link: http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs.doc
New Current Link http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs_2.doc

Q: What if the price is higher than what's on the list?
A: Then your store has not done markdowns left. Ask them if they have any pending PCLs and perhaps they can do it for you, or just wait it out. Also, you could try a return/rebuy if you have another local store that did the drops. Use the UPC sheet to check this

Q: What if a price doesn't come up? It says "Check shelf tag for pricing".
A: This means that the game was at 90% off, and for some reason it was scheduled to be marked down further. If you have a cool employee, you can get games for cheap. If you have a game with outdated tags, you could be in for a hassle. This is similiar when Target marks things down for salvage.

Q: Are these markdowns YMMV?
A: NO. These are universal nationwide prices. If you arent getting them, its your stores problem and doesnt indicate a larger problem as a whole.

Q: How are things marked down?
A: AFAIK, it can be done manually via gun, or it can be done en masse at the register. If you want further details, we are currently looking for a CAG to take one for the team and get a job at K-Mart to infiltrate and learn their secret methods.

Q: What games will drop further?
A: As a GENERAL RULE, games at 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 3.00, 4.00 are at 90% off AND WILL NOT DROP FURTHER. Games ending in .99 will drop 2 bucks at a time in random intervals.

Q: What do I do with all these games?
A: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...ad.php?t=95481
Paddle: What version of the Urbz was ringing up $4? It came out for GC/PS2/DS.

I have an unopened Polarium I'd like to trade for a Half Life 2. It rang up full price at mine, must have had a new UPC sticker on it, guy wouldn't let me touch it.
Sorry, it's I haven't looked at this thread in a while. It was the PS2 version

Yeah. I got the $5 off $35 off coupon, too. I'm going again, since a lot of games are still there and using the coupon. It's actually a print out that was handed to customers as they were coming in. Anyone need a scan of it?

As for games having a sticker over the original UPC, if you can get at least ONE game like it w/o the sticker, you can get a cashier to ring all the other ones for the same price. This is very YMMV, b/c the cashier had done it for me and another time, the manager OK'ed it.

Just to give my report in case anyone else is searching the forums:

Advance War Dual Strike was $9 (bought)
Polarium was $24 (passed)

Had my bro check the Kmart in a neighboring town and they had
Polarium $3 (bought both of the remaining copies)
True Swing Golf $3.50 (bought 1).

i don't have a KMart around here. used to have one before buy it closed. the last KMart i went to was in NY and i saw Devil May Cry for $50. the first one. lol.

same here, I'm also looking for Animal Crossing: WW [DS]!

I did trade in my Ape Escape 3 + Neo Pets for $30.00 credit today & will most likely return tomorrow with more trade-ins.

I nabbed it at Fry's for $10. Not exactly clearance, but better than nothing.

Hope this works at all Kmarts as this was one given out at mine to customers coming in one day. It does say void if copied in the back but looks like a copy itself that Kmart employees had cut up to give to customers.

Hopefully I'm not pointing out the obvious here, but you spent $8 at Kmart to get $30 in credit at GC. You could just buy AC:WW from GC for $35 (after getting a bit more credit as you say you will) and it will end up costing you about the same ($9). Now, sure, it would be nice to find an AC:WW for $9 and save the GC credit for something else. But if you are going to pay $9 + tax + shipping + extra from a CAG you would be better off just using your GC credit. I'm just sayin'...

I'm sure this is going to come off as a stupid question, but as a K-Mart electronics employee, is there anyway I can help you guys out?

I had 2 customers come in with a list of clearance games that I had not had time over the holiday season to markdown yet. I think I only had about 30% of the games on their list, but I least I knew what games they were talking about, although even I didn't know some of them were on clearance yet.

So, how can I help you guys? If none of you were aware, K-Mart sends every store a PLC (Price List Correct) once a month, both for normal priced items and another for clearance items. That's when we get the scoop on what new stuff has been reduced more (or reduced for the first time).

As for why some K-Marts have completely different prices for games, it all depends on both the UPC number and also HOW the game was put into the system. For instance, one of the games the 2 guys were interested in was Dynasty Warriors for PSP. It was supposed to to be under 5 bucks, but it was 40 in my system, down from it's starting price of 49.99. In this case, the game had to be hand-entered into the system rather than scanning in as normal, so it's clearancing was completely thrown off. Also, games that ring up as "Video Game" or something else other than the game's title can throw off the price of the game as well, even though it's SUPPOSE to be by UPC only.

So anyway, if I can help you guys in any way compile the list, let me know.

P.S. To the gentlemen who came in a few days ago (Cabot, AR K-Mart), I found a few X-Box games that had been knocked off:

Tom Clancy Classic Trilogy (X-Box)(GR, SC, RS) - 4.00
Hots Shots Golf FORE! (PS2)(customer return, unopened) - 4.00
World Championship Poker (X-Box)(did you get this?) - 1.00

One more I can't think of right now. I'll have to wait until Monday to get back there and see.

Let me add on to what I posted, then I'll PM the original poster of this thread and see what we can work out.

What I meant by "scanning into the system" is when we enter an item into our inventory, not when it is scanned at the register. The way we enter things into inventory completely controls what the register reads. So, when I say something was "hand-entered" into the system, I meant it was improperly added into our inventory, which can mess up clearance pricing.

I assume the price differences come up either when the KSN is different or wasn't entered into the system if it had to be hand-entered, which may also affect its pricing. FYI, the KSN number is just K-Mart's personal number for items (it can be for multiple items with multiple UPCs, whereas a UPC is specific to one item).

While I'd rather not read nearly 90 pages of replies to this topic, I guess I can address 2 issues that seem to be recurring about K-Mart:
 1. All K-Mart employees are generally assholes and don't help people.
 2. Most K-Mart game sections look like a bomb went off in each case.
1. I personally can't disagree with this statement. While I like some of my fellow employees, I'm not fond of the rest, and every other K-Mart employee who I've called or has called me are unknowledgeable, unfriendly, and generally dicks who seem like it's not their job to look up something for me, check on an item, etc. The last retard they sent back to my department came to work high one night, got fired before we closed, then came back to work the next day like NOTHING HAPPENED. Needless to say, he was chewed out and disposed of in a not-so-nice manner.

As for myself, I do what I can. In regards to the 2 gentlemen I mentioned earlier, I finally looked at their list and virtually told them what games I had and didn't have, checked on some others I thought might be cheap, and found a few not on their list. Let's put it this way: I've gotten "rewards" for what my managers considered to be "above and beyond" what I was expected to do for my customers, which blew my mind for some time, until you realize how little they expect out of everyone, then it makes a bit more sense, but it's still completely messed up.

2. I know for sure my game sections look like crap. I've reorganized them twice, but it only takes one day off and somebody thumbing through them looking for a game (despite the fact that I put them in aphlabetical order each time) to bring me back to square one, which is why I know so much about what games I have, don't have, how much they are, etc.: because otherwise everyone would mess them up in no time.

This happens simply because I don't have enough room for all of the games. I am mandated to keep all of my games in locked cases, which the intelligent people who assembled them messed up and shorted me one shelf for each case. I have about 300+ :ps2: games stuck in the bottom of its case that hardly ever see the light of day (granted that does help games drop down to the more "manageable" prices).

The other thing that helps this is the fact that, well, I'm it back there. I get so pissed when I see 5 guys at Wal-Mart chatting about irrelevant topics and doing nothing while I'm alone at K-Mart helping customers, doing my own product stocking, pricing, organizing, new release items, getting TVs from upstairs (who the hell decided to put TVs on the second floor anyway?), helping customers not in my department when another employee won't or is MIA, and, well, you get the picture. Then they have the nerve to whine at me when I leave my department to help someone else.

Anyway, I'll see what I can do this thread.

P.S. - Although my hand scanner indicates that some games are one penny, I have been told that I'm no longer allowed to sell games for a penny and must now sell games for a minimum of one dollar. This stems from a man who came in and purchased nearly all the one cent games I had and decided to resell them in his store across the overpass from me. It's one thing to make a profit, it's another to be a dick and do something like that ( I don't have a problems with individuals buying and then reselling games for profit, but not when it's for his own business). He's getting a visit from me in the near future.

to help both you and your customers out at your kmart Country4687, you should spine them. a couple k-marts i've been to certainly do a lot better than the two other k-marts i've been to that are just crap everywhere. i hate those weird displays where they face out and things just get stuck behind or fall behind other things. spining makes it easier for everyone, since you see everything. not sure if you have the authority to do stuff like that, but i'd mention it to your manager.

Agreed. The DS and GBA cases were full of Ice Age games on the front and god knows what on the back.

I would agree with this, but we've asked and they (as in the district managers, not my store managers) said no. The games on the display shelves must be face-forward (which you see at all the other stores). The games at the bottom of each case are fair game, so I do spine those, but as with the PS2 games, when I've got that many in a small case, it's virtually four rows deep to fit them all in, which of course makes only the fourth row visible without raking through each row (the bottom of each of my cases is just big enough to stand each game up to spine them, which is why I have to have four rows of them). It's also a problem with the PSP games/videos (I've got a huge amount of UMD videos that still aren't on clearance) and the GBA games to a lesser degree. It'll be interesting when they send me a new layout that says where the Wii and PS3 games are "suppose" to go. I say "suppose to go" because I don't follow the layout anyway since they screwed me on my shelves and everything else.

Damn, I think very few people here have ever actually gotten a penny game for a penny from Kmart. They usually do 1 of 3 things: 1) Say they can't sell it. 2) Sell it for the tagged price ($10 or $49.99 or whatever) 3) Look up the last retail price and discount it 90%. I've had a few very nice Electronics employees (one in particular who knows me and helps me look for stuff - very nice) who do the latter. Thus I was able to get Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban for Xbox, just last week, for $2.99 (90% off the last MSRP of $29.99).

If they would sell them all for $1 I would be thrilled! I mean, hell, even I would feel bad walking out with games for a penny a piece .

Haha, awesome man, I'm glad you checked out the site! Yes! I'm glad ya found a copy of Hot Shots Golf, I'll probably swing by to grab that in the morning.

wow.. so I went to my 3rd kmart in my area.. and they actually had all the "correct" sticker prices on the games... like games were ticketed as 3 bucks.. i was quite surprised to see this.

but yeah.. some store displays are a mess.. my main kmart has that out of case display which is nice for getting cheap games.. but my 2nd choice kmart has everything locked up.. very hard for browsing...ugh.. happy new year everyone!

My favorite KMART has just put up a cardboard bin and put stickers over alot of the UPCs. Went for Animal Crossing DS..Left with a classic controller for Wii :D

I went a week ago, hoping to score a lot of cheap games to trade in. But, I only ended up with Prince of Persia: WW, Madden 2005 DS, and one other game for like $8 total. Huge waste of trip. And I am never going in another K-Mart ever again. This was my first time since I was a little kid, and maybe it was just this store, but holy shit was this store like crap. Maybe I'm just used to Wal-Mart Supercenter and Target, etc. Where it's all super clean and nice. But this place was the ghetto of all retail establishments. Not just the game section, but clothes in the aisles and just, damn. This was the Little Rock, AR location.

While people are at kmart might as well look out for this too its a great deal and I got one of these this morning.

I just got back from my local K-mart, and the only game I found worth getting was Rebelstar - Tactical Command (GBA) for $9.99. Picked that one up and had the cashier open the cabinets so I could rummage through the mess of DS and GBA games they had. Unfortunatley, nothing good. I did find two copies of the new Castlevania game buried in the back of the cabinet. My heart skipped a beat because I thought it was Dawn of Sorrow.

Thanks OP!

That Rodney Parham store (Little Rock, AR) is an absolute shithole IMO. I've been there once (before I got the job at mine) and swore to never go back. I agree that it might have been that we are familiar with the cleaniness of other stores, but I'm afraid it plagues most K-Marts, mine included. It's not as bad as that one, but it still amazes me how much crap gets left everywhere and nobody cares. For my store, it's caused by the lack of employees (most of us [cashiers excluded] are responsible for at least 2 departments[I freaking hate doing stationary stuff]) that can help clean up, whereas most other stores specify others to do nothing but clean up areas.

1. They can't refuse to sell it to you. It's in your hands. The only reasonable explanation I can think of is that an item gets to be so old it's taken out of the inventory and rings up as "Not on File". Even then, since you found it, they should re-enter it into the system and sell it to you.

2. There's the other possibility that the morons don't know what to do when they ring up a game at the register and it says "Price Required". If this is the case, the game has almost always been clearanced out to 3.00 dollars or less. If they pull some crap about entering the sticker price, DEMAND that they use an RMU (Remote Management Unit, one of those hand-scanners) to find out what price it should be. The RMUs show what the game was originally priced (as in it's starting price) and the price as it stands now.

3. This is something I've never heard of before. Do you happen to know how they check on the last retail price of the game? Do they also have to call a manager to approve the discounted price they give you?

I was at my K-mart today, and all they had was a bin that said $19.99 and under, and it was mostly $15-$20 games in there with ones like Killer 7 mixed in for $7. Are you guys saying that some of those might be $3? So if i went over to one of the scanners on the wall and scanned them, they would come up as $3. Our k-mart sucks, so i dont really want to go back there, but if this is true and seeing it is only like 5 mins away from me, i guess i could make the trip again.

Thanks

Yes and no. It's possible, but as everyone has said, it seems each K-Mart has it's own way to put out games. I will say that if you see any games with large red or black price tags in the top right corner for 14.99 or 9.99, those will NOT be on clearance. Each K-Mart was sent a corrugate (cardboard display case thingy) with about 200 of those pre-priced and with new UPC codes taped over the plastic.

Killer 7 is a clearance game and was marked down to 7.00 in November I believe. It's hard to spot what games would be on clearance. I only know because I've done enough of it at the store to pretty much have a general instinct of what's what. You're basically looking for slightly older games that you either don't recognize or haven't seen in a while. For instance, let's take the Ratchet and Clank series from the PS2. Should any stores still have them, the first one is now a one penny game, Going Commando is a 4.00 game (due to be reduced to 2.00 in January), and Up Your Arsenal/Deadlocked remain at the 19.99 price. Here's how prices generally drop, based on what the last retail price is before becoming part of the clearance items:

49.99 - Although it's very rare to go on clearance from this price, games should drop to 40.00 at first, then slowly go down by 5 dollars every month. On certain games, a drop in price may take 2 months in the beginning, then will begin to go down regularly month-by-month as the game doesn't sell.

39.99 - Fairly rare as well, but these games will drop to either 36.00 or 32.00 on their initial clearance, then decrease by another 4 dollars a month until they are gone.

29.99 - These games, like the others, drop by 10% each month. These games will go to 27.00 on the first clearance, then slowly build up after that. On occasion, games will get slashed to 15.00 on the very first clearance, but will then not be touched for some months afterwards.

19.99 - The general standard starting place for most clearance games. Some follow the same pattern, dropping 2.00 a month (18.00 on the first clearance) until it's they hit 10.00, then they go down to 5.00, 3.00 OR 2.00. Other games go down to 14.00 on the first clearance, then 7.00, 3.50, 2.00, etc., until gone.

I have no clue who came up with this clearance system, so I'm always a bit confused on how some games are clearanced down.

Is there anyway you could get us a list of all of the cheap ass K-Mart games, or is that impossible??
Is there anyway you could get us a list of all of the cheap ass K-Mart games, or is that impossible??
It's coming, at least what I can get my hands on. For the most part, it may have to be just what other people buy (like it has been for some time) plus what I have at my K-Mart. I will for sure be able to add in the Clearance PLC list each month I get it. The catch with that is that it only tells me what stuff got marked down again for that month, not an entire clearance list.

As far as a FULL list of clearance games goes, there is a small possiblity. If I can find a way to look up all clearance items in my department and print out that list, then it would be a great foundation for future updates. The problems with that would be actually printing out the list (the computer system they use is an ancient one that I barely know how to run), then, should I get said list printed, based on the way it categorizes items, I won't be able to separate the video games out, so I'd have to print an entire clearance list and then hand-sort the video games out and add them to some sort of database/list.
Where are the UPC scanners in Kmart? I couldn't find one at the one I went to.
you just need to search... they are always one the support columns of the store... my #1 store has one the the toy department... but my #3 kmart has one in the clothing department.. you really just need to look around and find one... sometime you will see like a red flag on the column indicating there is one there..

Yesterday i made a new run to Kmart to see what they might have, this time i even thumbed through the cases and the stack because you can't see whats under alot of them. I mananged to get... :)

:psp: Ape Escape Academy X2
:psp: Neo PetPets The Wand of Wishing X2
:xbox: Rainbow Six:Lockdown
:ds: True Swing Golf
:ds: Polarium
:gba: Dynasty Warriors Advance

All that for $39.50 :)

Once again this thread is awsome, thanks OP and thanks for the handy game lookup search engine ;)

Yep, that's one of the weird anomaly games, one store I got it for $3, another store had it for $24.

Right - they nearly always sell it to you, but usually at the tagged price or they pull something out of their ass to price it ;). I was at a Kmart in VA last year and I pulled out some old crappy $2 game (forget what) that was barely worth buying at that price. They just repriced it at $49.99 since that was the tagged value . But I think others in this thread have reported that they were refused sales of "Price Reqd" games and told those had to be "sent back" or some such nonsense.

As for #3, I don't know how the guy does it, but he fiddles around with the hand scanner for a bit and comes up with the original price, then takes 90% off. Though it sounds to me like he is just doing what you say in #2 above, so I'm not sure. He's a great Kmart employee - he'll go with me to the case and hand scan stuff as I pull it out. It is much faster than taking a huge pile to the cash register just for price checks. This way, also, I can just put things back where they were instead of him having to do it later, so it works out for both of us. Plus he's always curious as to what new items I've found out about. I also try to straighten up their piles when I'm looking through ;).

Finally found the elusive DS Advance Wars...and it rings up at $34.99. Is it likely that this will eventually drop to $9 and I just have to keep checking back, or if it hasn't been clearanced yet, then it probably never will be?

Must be another anomaly. It was $9.99 at my K-Mart.

it's definitely another anomaly. i got most of the clearance games at the markdown price but Advance Wars still rings up at $34 and they have two copies at my local store (luckily i was able to get one from a friendly CAGer). the Donkey Konga 2 bongo pk still rings up at $40 there too.

It should mean that either the guy is a manager or has memorized a manager's override number, unless all of these games are ringing up under the "Price Required" label. Anything discounted 50% off or more of what it rings up at the register should require a manager override to go through.

I've also sat and gone through game cases with customers with my hand scanner, but I got back today from 2 days off to find out I'm gonna have to force my hand. I came back to find somebody managed to steal a PSP out of our game cases. An employee found the box on top of some CDs in the CD aisle. I've been pissed the entire day. I spent all of my time today rearranging the game cases (adding 2 more across from them), and tomorrow I'm gonna go through every damn game, reprice them, then spine them in the 2 new cases, probably separated between regular priced items and clearance priced items. This may give me the opportunity to get the biggest list of games that I can since I'm having to do this.

I'm still baffled at how this kind of stuff keeps popping up at certain K-Marts. I've got 2 copies at my store and it rings up 9.00, as it should.

Country4687, DO you think it is an inside job on the PSP??

I have come across 2 cases of theft in a particular kmart and one happened today. The first case was for mario tennis. I looked at 3 kmarts and finally saw one in the case, I get the guy to take it out for me and notice there is no plastic on it. Open it up and no disc. Keep in mind this was locked up in the case. Luckily the guy was with me the whole time or he would have probably thought I stole it. I can only think it was an employee who took it.
Today I went looking for the Western digital 80 gb hard drive that was posted about a couple pages back in this thread. At that same kmart, I see the box on the shelf. I pick it up and the box is empty. This means a person took off the plastic pulled it out of the box and stuffed it in their pocket and put the box back. All this without being seen. I find it hard to believe it was not an inside job. Maybe done in the back room.

Another question for you Country4687. Everytime I go in they have this generic anouncment of" security to zone 2" . At first I was paranoid it was about me since buying the games for so cheap always feels like I am stealing from them somehow. Is this just a recording to scare away potential shoplifters?? I am guessing yes since the whole store is being run by about 3 people, so I would think they do not have any security.

Bear in mind that I could answer all of these questions in detail, but elect not to since I consider some of this information to be sensitive (and I hate shoplifters with a passion after everything I've seen, and that's just in six months).

The "security to Zone ##" is not a recording, it is always a live announcement normally made by a manager with information about a potential shoplifter. By the time you hear it, security is either already on the way or on the scene and observing. It's really more of a scare tactic to see if someone trying something will drop and run, but it's also part of security protocol when something like that is seen and reported.

As far as the PSP goes, in this case, I doubt it was an employee. All of the, shall we say, "suspicious" employees were let go, so now all of the more experienced people are working as we get new people in for the slower season. My conclusion at this time is that the case was somehow accidently left open and the employee went away for a bit, allowing the theif to snag the PSP, a 1 GB memory stick for the PSP, and 2 games that were all in that case. It was a crime of opportunity, one of which employees who attempt this kind of thing don't have to do, as they have other ways of doing it. What I'm trying to find out now is HOW IN THE HELL did security not catch this.

In your 2 cases, I would say that the Mario Tennis game was probably a customer's doing (crime of opportunity again), as an employee would surely know better than to take the game but leave the friggin' case in the locked-up cabinet, but I've seen employees do dumber things. The hard drive is hard to say, but I would bank on a customer again since the case was left there once again, although it would be a bit hard to sneak out with an 80 GB hard drive. Granted, I've seen some interesting attempts at large items before. It should be worth noting that the hard drive came in 2 different packages, the first one without plastic in a blue/yellow box, and then the newer one came in a white box with plastic on it (is it sad that I remember that?).

If you want an example of an employee stealing stuff, try looking for a $300 camcorder for a customer and only seeing a box in the cabinet with "Display" written on it, then going to the backroom lock-up only to find ANOTHER box with "Display" on it as well. In this case, however, I remembered that camera being put out not long after I started and recognized the girl's handwriting who had put it out, so I knew the one in my case was the stolen one.

Customers who steal will always look for or even create the opportunity to steal items and will normally leave traces behind (torn wrappers, empty boxes/packages, etc.), but employees can bide time and normally get it from areas where only employees can go which, once discovered, pretty much points to who did it.

I've really got to stop typing so much per post.
