I've taken the FAQ from the other thread & pretty much just pasted it here without any changes made to it. You can find this FAQ at the bottom of this thread past the game list. The first list is the current game list. The second list is the original clearance list.

Consider yourself lucky if you find any titles from the second list, also most everything on the second list should be a big YMMV as most of those titles are now out of the system &/or have been pretty much bought up by everyone by now.

Alrighty then, here is the new and improved Kmart Clearance list. All titles are in alphabetical order according to their platform. The listings will be as follows: UPC - Game Title - Price.

Any game title that I've put in BOLD is missing the full 12 digit UPC & is represented with zeros. Any missing info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the prices will be listed according to info I get from inventories. However, if 3 people can confirm the same price on a certain game, then I'll change the listed price to reflect it. I'll try my best to keep this updated as much as possible.

All updates on pricing will be done as I find them and/or posts from you guys/gals.:cool: I just updated some prices for select games that I found recently. Any price that I just changed has a v next to the price. There may still be a few prices out of whack, but for the most part they're current.

Remember if you have a UPC that we need please PM me so I may update the zeroed UPC's. Thank you to everyone contributing info in this thread!

FAQ

Q: Why was this thread created?
A: Because there are multiple threads floating around, and its useful to consolidate. THis one will have the OP constantly updates so you don't have to go digging.

Q: Are these prices YMMV?
A: No, they shouldn't be. I currently have 10 K-Marts in my shopping radius, and they've all been consistent. At one time it was thought that they were YMMV, but I'm pretty sure it was instead employee incompetence at keeping prices updated.

EDIT: Some people are reporting prices that are YMMV, but I am hesitant to mark the deal as such. If you get a different price, it seems to be the exception to the rule, not a true YMMV where it is hit or miss. I'd say these prices are 90% accurate.

Q: An employee said the price was higher than what's on the list.
A: Get the game scanned at the register.

Q: The employee got that price gun and said it was higher than what's on the list.
A: GET THE GAME SCANNED AT THE REGISTER. The gun is incorrect sometimes.

Q: Can I use the price checker thingies?
A: YES! Brilliant idea! They will give you an accurate price. Also, if you have the problem of useless employees not opening the cases for you, you can print off the UPC codes and check them at the price checker.

Q: How can I help?
A: Multiple ways:
- Get a job at K-Mart so we have an inside man
- Post the prices of the games you get
- Write down the prices of games you do not get, then post those too

Q: When are items marked down?
A: Once a month, near the middle of the month.

Q: Does this have anything to do with the weekend 50% off sales K-Mart usually runs?
A: No. While some of these games used to be on the list, this is completely seperate. None of these games are on the 50% list anymore and will not be reduced during these sales.

Q: What if I bought a game at a higher price and it gets reduced? Can I get a price adjustment or a return/rebuy?
A: Chances are VERY SLIM. K-Mart does not do price adjustments on clearance items. A return/rebuy might be possible, but most Kmarts do not employee people with the mental capacity to fully understand this concept.

Q:Can I price check the games without getting into the cases?
A: Yes, thanks to this UPC document from TimTucker. You can scan these at self scanners located in most K-Marts, but note that sometimes prices may not be accurate

Q: What if the price is higher than what's on the list?
A: Then your store has not done markdowns left. Ask them if they have any pending PCLs and perhaps they can do it for you, or just wait it out. Also, you could try a return/rebuy if you have another local store that did the drops. Use the UPC sheet to check this

Q: What if a price doesn't come up? It says "Check shelf tag for pricing".
A: This means that the game was at 90% off, and for some reason it was scheduled to be marked down further. If you have a cool employee, you can get games for cheap. If you have a game with outdated tags, you could be in for a hassle. This is similiar when Target marks things down for salvage.

Q: Are these markdowns YMMV?
A: NO. These are universal nationwide prices. If you arent getting them, its your stores problem and doesnt indicate a larger problem as a whole.

Q: How are things marked down?
A: AFAIK, it can be done manually via gun, or it can be done en masse at the register. If you want further details, we are currently looking for a CAG to take one for the team and get a job at K-Mart to infiltrate and learn their secret methods.

Q: What games will drop further?
A: As a GENERAL RULE, games at 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 3.00, 4.00 are at 90% off AND WILL NOT DROP FURTHER. Games ending in .99 will drop 2 bucks at a time in random intervals.

OK, I've been debating whether or not to 'leave the cat out of the bag' on this one or not for a while now. But here goes.....

My one local Kmart(Dickson City, PA) has had a 42" projection tv from Akai on clearance, labeled at $360 for the past month or so. Thing is, it's the LAST one in stock there.

I checked the sticker on the side to get the UPC from it to check on UPCdatabase. However, THIS came up:The UPC you were looking for currently has no record in the database.

However, it DID bring up a UPC that would be scannable at Kmart stores. Furthermore, it listed the item as 'being made by Samsung Electronics America'. So, that got me intrigued and I checked Wikipedia regarding it.

There's more to it than that. I stopped posting specific deals from my GR, for example, because when I did so they'd often dissappear within a few days. What this indicates to me is that there are non-contributing lurkers who snap up deals (since I know the other people who shop at my GR from CAG and make regular posts and it is never them). I don't mind regulars getting them, but the lurkers could be on for any number of reasons.

So I don't like to say which specific stores I've been to (unless I'm travelling and then I post them - and some of you may remember what happened when I did that with the store in VA :rofl: - there's another reason not to post so you don't get flagged my certain employees). The CAG's that know me and know where I am can PM me (some have about Kmart specifically) and I will share the specifics with them (or even hide things for them ;)).

So tempting - I was just there yesterday! But the Wii was my big purchase of the month.

On the other hand, it seems like a waste to have it hooked up to a 16 year old TV...

No. In all the Sears Essentials I've been to, they go by the Sears clearances, not the K-Mart ones.

Do you really want the display model? That thing probably has a couple thousand hours on the tube already being a display model. I know its a good price, but it probably wont last as long as a new unused unit.
 
no, dont want the display model. just pointing something is not right with what there were telling me. every other place sold the new and display. this is the concord ca btw. everyother on in the bay knows about it and has sold out of all of them. my brother in another state store has 18, now they are saying it is online only... since people are finding out, i think some are trying to hold some for themselves and making up stuff. dont really want one, but for the price my mouth was watering...

No problem, Tsukento, if I had the room at the moment, I'd be picking that up with my first pay from my new job(mind you, I'd be trying to find a sealed unit for that price lol). But, my tv's work just fine for now, so I can still hope to find one of those 26" LCDs someone reported as being $50 a while back for me to play my games on.

And, a big "You're Welcome" to everyone else who thanked me for the info on the tv. I just wish my local Kmart hadn't sold out of them already.

Also, in the Dickson City, PA store where I saw the $360 big screen, they have all the cheap games in a deep bin now, all PRICED RIGHT too. So, if you want a copy of Jade Empire or Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire or one of about 10-15 other titles that're there for cheap, you best head there SOON, since ANYONE can grab them and get a great deal now.

I checked the Moosic, PA Kmart the other night, only to find 2 copies of Psychonauts which weren't there the time before. There are other games that're cheap in the case left over, but those two stuck out the most.

Just thought I'd give any local CAGs a big heads up on those two stores, as I know most don't wanna run around to 2-3 Kmarts only to come up dry.

HAHAHAHA! This is priceless, just like the people who pissed and moaned about the people out in Cali selling huge lots of game guides, who showed stacks upon stacks of guides sitting on a floor.

It's first come, first served and otherwise, those games or guides would've sat there collecting dust like they've done at numerous Kmarts and other stores till some of us bought them for dirt cheap. And, that was even IF we found them in the first place.

Personally, I'd rather see them sold, even on Ebay in a huge lot like that, than sitting there coming up 'price required' and the price sticker on the game still says $49.99 from when it WAS a NEW game.

And, where was Reservoir Dogs clearanced already, because I know it wasn't at Kmart yet, not that I would even want the game ANYWAY.

Well, I don't know for sure, but the fact that he has a lot of the games from the KMART list raises some flags. Then I was looking at the pics and noticed that in the second column the fifth pic down there is one game with the reduced sticker still on it and a game with the sticker almost off of it and they look just like the ones on the games I have. Maybe I'm looking too much into this...I don't know.

Wal-Mart frequently puts a much nicer 52 inch rear projection on sale in the $500 range. RCA, I believe.

Actually, thats pretty funny - its some of my competition. That place is also where I get my discs resurfaced. They will make pillaging runs into Ohio - the Sears in Boardman OH refuses to sell to them.

Whenever I go there, I make smarmy comments about clearances and they get really angry.

Believe it or not, but my kmart actually did some tidying up and made a separate clearence section. I still find clearence games in the cases though, haha.

It's Day 8 of my predicted 5-7 days for a new clearance list, and I'm still staring at that damned "Pending Clearance" message on stuff. I have no clue what's going on, as I got the regular PLCs 10 days ago, and even some of the other departments have gotten their Clearance PLCs done already. I'll try to find out what's going on tomorrow in between assembling patio furniture for displays (not exactly my favorite job).

As far as the Akai 42" goes, the last one I had (display model) sold at around 600 dollars (original price was 899 I think, maybe 799), and was then clearanced again to about 520 dollars, but I haven't seen it since then, which was a solid 6 months ago. I can't believe stores still have this damn thing. Most every K-Mart (except the larger ones) carry one big screen TV in stock at all times, so when the Akai was clearanced out, we got a Magnavox 51" for its replacement. It was an ok TV for what it was, but I certainly wouldn't buy the display model of it for the sole reason of it being a rear projection. I've never had much luck with them in the past, and I can't imagine how long a store display model would last at a home.

If anybody wants to save a trip or check multiple stores without being lied to, feel free to PM me. All I need is the UPC code and the 4-digit store number of each store you want to check, and I can tell you what their inventory says they have. I suppose that goes for games as well, but please bear in mind that I rate it as about 80-85% accurate, so don't kill me if store X doesn't have an item when my RMU says they have 2 in their inventory. It could be an inventory error on their end, or worse, you get a moronic employee who couldn't find something to save his/her life.

The only other thing I can remember reading is something about a 50 dollar LCD TV. My BEST guess as to what it is would be a series of SuperScan TVs we had for a while. I only remember getting it in 15, 20, and 23" though (granted they were gone not long after I started there, so there might have been a bigger one). I might slip into the system and see if it's still in my inventory.

Hi everybody. I've been "lurking" around these forums for a while now, and while I hate being a lurker, I really just never found any new deals or anything otherwise helpful to contribute. But I hope now I can finally give a little back to a community that's given me so much. I spotted Soul Calibur III at a K-Mart in Rochester, NY clearance tagged at $14. Can anyone else verify this price?

Anyway, thanks again, everyone here, for being a such a helpful, sharing community. I have long studied the ways of the CAG ;), and now that I understand how things work, I hope to contribute as much as I can.

I stopped by the local kmart and they were doing inventory. The guy in the electronics department told me that price drops should be in place tomorrow. Is this how it works? Does the guy know what he's talking about?

Also, will games currently going for $2 (playstation) be taken off inventory, or will the drop to a lower price? I.e. should I buy now??

There are plenty of rear-projection HDTVs out there.

I'd recommend an LCD rear-projection over an LCD or plasma any day. A nice example is the Sony KDF-50E2000, which I also own.

It's slightly thicker than an LCD, although still fairly light at around 60-70 pounds for a 50 inch TV, but it has less glare and a better picture (IMO) than LCD or plasma TVs.

I also have a standard Mitsubishi rear-projection 65-inch widescreen I bought several years back and the picture on that TV is great as well. Big screen TV prices have definitely gone down a lot since I bought that one. Could have bought a fairly nice car for what I paid for that TV.
 
Finally found a K-Mart participating in the clearance. Picked up MechAssault 2 for $2. I saw Wreckless sealed, figured it'd be about a dollar.. imagine my suprise when it rang up for $49.99!!!!!

It was $2 months ago. Try printing the UPC and scanning it at one of the price checkers. Odds are it will come up with "Check Shelf Label" or $2.

Look, I'm as much of a CAG as anyone, but why were you waiting on buying $2 games? :rofl: If there's something I'm even remotely interested in at that price I buy it without hesitation. It can only get worse (ie, someone else will buy it or it will go all "check shelf price" on you and then you might not be able to buy it any more).

I think it is unlikely $2 games will go to $1. If they are already 90% off, that's it.
 
LOL I guess I should go hoard the other 2 copies of Psychonauts from another of my 'local' Kmarts soon, before I have to bring my massive stack of receipts with me and hope like hell the one that has Psychonauts on it isn't faded to nothing.

My other local Kmart also has a copy of Alias and a couple other piddily clearance games(Chibi Robo and Geist, $10 each currently, but I want em for $5 LOL).

Of course, they also have a copy of SRS for GC that will sit there till the Wii 3 comes out unless they resticker it with a lower price.

Aside from those 2-3 things, not much left in the MOOSIC, PA Kmart.

Oh and I'm also waiting for Ninja Gaiden Black to drop to $7 something before buying. I guess I am a real cheapass, huh?
 
I was actually sad to pay the current Kmart prices on megaman anniversary, neopets and clancy trilogy, but they were the only ones left. So I snatched them right away. Left the Geist(1 left), Ape Escape, Harry Potter, LOTR Tactics & Feel the Magic. I will buy those, when they are further marked down. ;)

Actually, Yoshi, why do you think I am waiting till Kmart drops both games some more? My local Sears was cleaned out of the older cheap games, but they had shittons of those re-UPC'd games for $10 and $15.

I HAD Geist, gave it to a friend, who played it for a while, then traded it for next to friggin nothing. I guess I'm the ONLY person who actually keeps all their games nowadays, knowing how much of shit you get for them most places. I'd rather watch the cd/dvd discs slowly disintegrate than sacrifice them for $1 to GS or other game trading places.

I grabbed my copy of Geist from TRU when it was $10 there, but I only want it to have something to play on my Sam Goody store closing GC I haven't opened up YET. LOL

As for Ninja Gaiden Black, I admit to waiting WAYYYYY too long to grab that from Sears. But, I guess I didn't wanna pay even $15(price when I last had it checked at Sears), since I had SO MANY games unplayed at that point.

Oh well, I hope Kmart further drops NGB and Geist(and maybe Chibi Robo too, that looks like an interesting lil game). If they all drop to $5 or under, I just may grab them all.

I'm sad because I can't find a copy of neopets. Go figure. I'd hate to pay ebay prices for it too, even if it is a little cheaper than retail.

If only I would've discovered this thread before christmas.
