That ad is pretty funny. Woops!

Or you could parse it as meaning if one were to trade their PSP for a DS lite than the PSP would be the past for them and the DS lite the future for them. Same if you flipped it and were trading a lite for a PSP. But my guess is it's just a poorly designed ad.

I think that it's not saying that the DS is the future of gaming, but more the future of profit.

Fanboys are the worst. It's a bad ad that doesn't even really make sense, but saying the DSL is the past whereas the PSP is the future is just as silly, if you ask me...considering the goals for each system are radically different.
