PC DDR Pad (not red octane)

What, exactly, is a "PC DDR pad" and why is Red Octane bad?

Radio Shack sells (or did sell, at least) converters that would allow you to use a PS2 controller in a USB port. Get one of those and a standard pad and you'd be set.

I wouldn't go with a Radioshack converter, stick with one of the ones on Play-Asia like the EMS.... works flawlessly. The Radioshack-purchased one wouldn't recognize any of my DDR mats. Check out the Stepmania website for more information on ones that work well. You could probably get some information on pads there too... although, like the previous poster, why is Red Octane bad? I've had a pad of theirs for 2+ years and it still works flawlessly.
