I think your completely missing the point. If you want to buy up a store's entire stock (whether it's Wal-Mart, some place that only people in the Miltary can shop at or the trunk of someone's car) don't even bother posting about it at CAG as it's probably just going to rub people the wrong way if anything. In this case (unlike the normal boring I bought x amount of a certain game to sell on eBay) you mentioned how selling the extras on eBay for money is spreading the wealth with CAGs which I don't get and I'm thinking you don't either as when you quoted me you didn't anwser that and went off about something else instead.
No...I got it. Your arguments just seemed rather arbitrary and almost irrational, so I wasnt sure HOW to respond to it. You paint with a rather broad brush, and it seems clear that you're not going to convince me, nor will I convince you, to see the other's POV. I dont know how you can rationalize someone hording items from a free-access-to-the-public store like WalMart or even the trunk of someone's car, as comparable to picking things up from a limited-access-to-a-certain-group merchant. The first is literally taking things from public circulation, while the second is pulling something from a private circle and making it more publicly available. They dont seem all that similar to me.
As far as the whole 'spreading the wealth' analogy, perhaps it was a poor turn of phrase. My point was to illustrate what I said above...the private-access merchant had a glut of these in-demand items, and I was trying to share access with a group of people who were reportedly interested. More than one person in this thread had bemoaned how it didnt appear they would ever get their hands on this game, and I thought it might be well received to offer them up. I was unaware that there was public trading on this forum, but even if I were, I think I would have stuck with the decision to use the widely-accepted means of conducting such transactions...EBay...because I figured it offered certain protections for both buyer and seller.
You (and possibly others) keep inserting a certain amount of malice into my comments about APossum, when I sincerely wanted to ask if he had offered his DS Lite to the CAG forums before he posted it on EBay. Of course, there seems to be a lot of implied understanding of my thoughts and motives in this matter, as there certainly has been no shortage of flaming my actions by this group.
If taking advantage of CAG postings to make money at the expense of other CAG's who will miss out on the deal because you bought the whole store is comparable to biting the hand that feeds you...
Coming to the site and bragging about it is like biting the hand that feeds you and then spitting in the face of the person who feeds you. I agree with FOnewearl...if you're going to horde at least keep it to yourself. Nobody here is going to high-five you for taking the deals away from the rest of us for your own profit[/.quote]
See above, please. I fail to understand how any non-military personnel missed out on a potential deal, or had a deal snuck out from under them because of my actions?
I thought I was doing a legitimate good turn by placing these games into wider circulation, and as I have expressed (all public skepticism and flaming notwithstanding), was not looking to win the lottery by posting them for public auction. If some of you out there are not interested in that, fair enough...but the high-horse 'we know what you're REALLY up to' judgmentalism is really unwarranted.
