THREE INCREDIBLE CAPCOM® HITS FOR THE XBOX 360® IN THE AFFORDABLE PLATINUM HITS TRIPLE PACK
Dead Rising®, Lost Planet®: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition, & Devil May Cry® 4 Come Together in One Dynamic Package

SAN MATEO, CA — August 10, 2009 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced the Platinum Hits Triple Pack for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. This affordable collection of three of Capcom’s greatest games for the Xbox 360 will be available for a suggested retail price of $39.99 beginning September 8, 2009.

The Platinum Hits Triple Pack combines Dead Rising®, Lost Planet®: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition, & Devil May Cry® 4 all in one box. Each of these games has been awarded Platinum Hits “Best Seller” status and together have sold over 3 million units in North America alone. Any gamer who had the bad luck of missing these legendary titles, will now have a chance to redeem themselves for a great low price.

Dead Rising is an action horror game that follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance photojournalist in pursuit of the story of a lifetime. What he finds is a small suburban town completely overrun by zombies. He seeks refuge in the local shopping mall, but soon learns it is far from the safe haven he had thought. Dead Rising takes place over 72 hours, during which Frank must unravel the mystery behind the catastrophe and survive the dangerous swarm of enemies that lie in wait. The unprecedented level of freedom provides players with a vast array of gameplay possibilities to do anything and everything they've wanted to do in a mall. Hundreds of unique objects can be used as weapons to fend off the hordes of zombies - everything from golf clubs and baseball bats to cash registers and stuffed animals.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a sci-fi third-person action shooter that offers an amazing single player experience offline and a heart-pounding multiplayer experience online. The adventure takes place on the frozen alien planet E.D.N. III. To survive, gamers will battle snow pirates, gigantic indigenous creatures known as Akrid and harvest the precious thermal energy found inside them. To do this they’ll utilize hi-tech weaponry and Vital Suits (VS ) – gigantic mechs used to traverse the treacherous frozen planet they’re on. In Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition, players get the same compelling single player experience found in the original game, with the addition of three new modes. In Score Attack, all enemies have points assigned to them and the score awarded will change depending on how they are defeated, with skilled marksmen being rewarded. For those who thrive on a challenge, Trial Battle Mode delivers, pitting players against all of the game’s bosses, one after another. Players of both Score Attack and Trial Battle modes will be able to compare their skills and compete for bragging rights via the online ranking system. Finally things get a little crazy with Off Limit Mode which lets players take on Lost Planet’s harsh environments and enemies with over-the-top, super-charged weapons and a powered-up grappling hook. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition was one of the first games to allow cross-platform connectivity from Xbox LIVE® to Games for Windows – LIVE, allowing console and Windows-based PC users to battle it out on the same online battlefield.

Devil May Cry 4 immerses gamers in a gothic supernatural world, where a new protagonist, Nero, clashes with Dante, the featured character of the previous Devil May Cry® games. As Nero, players will unleash incredible attacks and non-stop combos using a unique new gameplay mechanic, his powerful “Devil Bringer” arm. Fans of Dante won’t be disappointed as he too will be playable during the course of the game. With the advanced graphics of the current game systems, high definition visuals and intricate detail come to life as players explore new and exotic locales. Dynamic action and undeniable style combine with unprecedented fighting options and a gripping story to produce the incomparable experience that only a Devil May Cry game can deliver.

Awesome! Maybe they'll all be on one BD!

I mean.. that's a damn good deal. Hopefully Capcom can set some kind of trend with this.
I am pretty sure that you can get each of those for 10 dollars a piece. Great deal but you could get them cheaper.
That's what I was thinking as well. Not to mention this won't be released until Sept., who knows how much stores may knock the prices down on these titles.
Hot damn, thats a deal!!!! I'm still gonna wait for one to be used, and for a good coupon however. :)
+1 I'm a true cheap ass so i'll try to get cashback too

Hmmm, well buying all 3 used via GS (and using Edge) puts them at about $45 (before tax). Here's to hoping another one of those "25% off 2 or more Used games" coupons pops up soon.

I already bought all those games, full price, when they were new. Still, I hope this works out for them. Actually, I bought Lost Planet and then the Lost Planet Colonies edition... So, I guess I already spent $100 on Lost Planet.

Although Dead Rising ended up being an enormous disappointment, Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet are quite good.

wat?
dead rising is da fucking best of all three!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So with this and the BioShock/Oblivion pack what would be the 3rd for the buy 2 get 1 free?
SpongeBob Squarepants: The lost adventures or Dora the Explorer Triple Pack

So will this be a one dvd case that holds all three game discs?

I would prefer separate cases for the individual coverart of each game. I might get this, but I'll hold out for a sale/pricedrop.

OP's pic looks like all 3 games in a single case, instead of 3 separate game cases in a cardboard box.
too bad this isn't coming to the ps3
Dead Rising never came out for the PS3, so it would be pointless to try this on it.

As for the casing, most likely it will be one DVD case. It's doable with two discs on a flipper and one disc in the regular disc's spot.

I hope they do it like that and not in the "Blue Dragon" style.

Either way, I plan on picking this up. I rented those three from GameFly ages ago and need achievements in each to get them to 1000/1000.

Does Colonies PC have seperate achievements (I know Fallout 3 and 007 Quantum of Solace do)? If so, a serious Lost Planet fan could get 3000. A bit silly IMO.

Doesn't really seem like a good deal to me.... I mean, besides Lost Planet: Colonies being hard to find. LP is pretty fun, and DMC 4 is awesome (especially for PC if you have a mid-range compy) but Dead Rising was so disappointing. It's boring, and you're timed/have to repeatedly level up and restart the game several times to be able to even survive to beat the game.

Idea good, controls sucky :(

Interesting pack though, if only they would release triple-packs a little sooner after release, though...

meh I'm a little disappointed... Most these games go for $15 or less on sale so you'd be looking at 45 on your own (not counting LP is the Lost Colonies version). I guess I should be looking at this as a retail deal, and eventually it'll drop down to $20.
wat?

Dead rising was one of the worst games I have ever played. It baffles me that anyone could like it.

aren't these games dirt cheap used at GS?

I would wait till a B2G1 and it'll end up being 25-30 and even then I wouldn't do it because I hated dead rising with a passion :(

I loved Dead Rising too. I'm more patient than most in getting into games that have unique gameplay mechanics and I love games that have so much to do that you need a second of third playthrough to see it all.
In any case, once you get the mini-chainsaws from the clown the game is a cakewalk.

I didn't know LP:C was hard to find. I picked it up at the Circuit City clearance for like ~$7... played it for an hour or two and didn't care much for it.

Before edge card, used prices for all 3 games is $51 according to Gamestop.com. Assuming Edge card takes 10% off the price, that's $45 after discount.

I apologize if this has been posted already.

On Sept. 8, an Xbox 360 Greatest Hits 3-Pack will hit retailers for $39.99. The games included will be Dead Rising, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Colonies Edition), and Devil May Cry 4.

I can't link because I am a new user but the update is in the news section of Gametrailers (EpicBattleAxe). Maybe someone else can be kind enough to link it.

Wha...? I beat the game on my first try without restarting. Although I didn't get the best ending. I got that on my 2nd playthrough. Loved DR

Read this on Kotaku this morning. Not sure how it's a deal, though.

They made a really good point - most gamers have played or owned at least two of those games already.

Just need another one of these double/triple packs and a b2g1 sale.

How do the manuals work for these packs? It doesn't seem like they would include the full manuals...anyone that has the Oblivion/Bioshock care to tell?

I went to best buy today and they didn't have it. They also don't have a listing on the website. Amazon says that the title will be available in 1 to 2 months. Capcom's website says that it's out today. What's going on? Has anyone actually purchased this game at a retailer yet?

I know the two packs they give away with the consoles include both full length manuals stacked on top of each other.

It's the three complete games together in a box.

This is a really good set to consider. Unfortunately I beat DMC4 a long time ago, and played LP to death. Anyone who hasn't played these, though, I would recommend it. DMC4 is easily the best DMC in the series (and the only one I really felt compelled to complete all the way through), Lost Planet is an incredible shooter IMO. I love the grappling hooks, adds a lot more flow and depth to the combat. Also really enjoy the environments in the game. Oh, and boss battles? Probably second only to Metroid Boss battles. Really a memorable playing experience.

I'm definitly going to capitalize on this sick deal. I'm super stoked that DMC 4 is included. I feel that it didn't get the popularity of the past games in the series and coming from a gaming journalist, I'd have to say that in my eyes, DMC 4 is probably one of the finest representations of the hack and slash genre of games on these next-gen consoles. Plus, you get Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Colonies. Price on Amazon dropped to $36.99. Not that big of a drop but it looks better then $39.99 =P.
