I was able to snag 5 and exactly 5 cheap games at a Circuit City today (amazing because they were supposed to be pulled from the shelves a few weeks back).
So I took that as a sign I should try to get in on the EB/GS $10 bonus deal.
Got the following tradein values today (5/20):
All are PS2 except for Drake
Eye Toy Groove: $3
Powerdrome: $0.10
Baldur's Gate: $3
Rogue Ops: $1
Drake: $1
They then bumped Powerdrome up to $10.10
So I got $18.10 total for $8.20 spent at Circuit City. Nothing earthshattering, but it didn't take much time from start to finish (buying games at CC, trading at EB) so it was worth it.
I went to a GS at the same mall and a kid was trading in his PS2 + entire game collection. Most of it consisted of 2002 - 2004 sports titles. I wept for him
. I noticed the fat PS2 got $45 in credit, and a 3rd party wireless controller (not Logitech, I think Mad Catz) got $6 - both of which weren't too bad. The clerk told him he'd let him know if any games were worth less than $1. I think most probably were (saw Enter the Matrix ring up at $1 anyway).
Also, in watching 2 or 3 other transactions at both stores I saw them sell game warranties left and right (ie, people actually bought them). Amazing...
