I really like music from older games... in fact, one of my favorite aspects of playing older stuff for the first time is discovering an amazing soundtrack that enhances the whole experience. There's a lot of good, relatively obscure stuff out there, so let's hear some of your favorites.

I'll go first:

The entire reason to play Tenchu was the soundtrack. It was amazing. Or at least, this song was:

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment was a phenomenal game, and it had a similarly sublime soundtrack. Here's one of the less RPG-ish songs:

Oh, and let's try to avoid the utterly obvious and completely overplayed songs. We've all heard One-Winged Angel before, we don't need it again.

An NES era offering:

Duck Tales is one of many great platformers that Capcom developed in the 80s and early 90s. Solid level design and catchy soundtrack. Everyone seems to love the theme from the Moon level, but this track is just as good.

Oh...and how could I forget one of the most memorable (to me at least) opening sequences in any game I ever played. The Lunar Silver Star Opening. (remember this was the early 90's)

My phone is full of old game songs and sound effects that I use for various friends ringtones and text tones.

My wifes ringer is the Final Fantasy Crystal theme.

Most incoming texts get the Metal Gear codec ring.

I also have various tunes and sounds from Super Mario Bros, Contra, Zelda, etc...
